Personnel Changes at ICCWilliam Tammone, PhD,has been named InterimPresident for Illinois CentralCollege following the retire-ment of Dr. John Erwin. Tammone has served asProvost at the College since 2006.

Susan Portscheller has been elected chairof the ICC Board of Trustees for the next academic year. Frank Mackaman, PhD,joins the Board of Trustees following localelections held in April. Katherine Coyle retired from the Board after six years ofservice. Trevor Mileur also retired after serving three years as student trustee onthe Board. He will be transferring to StanfordUniversity this fall.Rachael DeLost replacesTrevor as student trustee.

Jeremy Steed has been named the directorof on-campus living for ICC. Steed will be incharge of the student residences locatednear the campus.

Portrait Photography We’ll concentrate on outdoor and indoor portrai-ture in this advanced photography workshop. Hummingbird HavenImagine the air filled with hundreds of tiny wings beating faster than the eyecan take it in. That’s the scene throughout the summer at Creel and LoisWhite’s Hummingbird Haven, near Smithfield. The White’s farm has longbeen a paradise for the tiny birds. Fall Festival at New SalemLincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site is a reconstruction of the villagewhere Abraham Lincoln spent his early adulthood. The six years Lincolnspent in New Salem formed a turning point in his career. Join us for the fall festival where typical autumn life on the 1830s Illinois prairie will bedemonstrated. Costumed interpreters will demonstrate daily tasks such as candle dipping, butter churning, soap making, basket making, spinningwool, gardening, natural dyeing, and fishing with nets. COLLEGE FOR KIDS

4th-9th Grades

College for Kids is a summer program held at the East Peoria campus for childrenentering 4th thru 9th grades. Participants may choose from an assortment of creativeand educational classes in art, math, science, dance, theatre, computers, language,and more. Class topics range from acting to web design and every-thing in between.

Each two-hour class meets Monday thru Thursday for two weeks. Students may register for one, two, or three classes per session. Club CFK is available from 3:15 - 5:00 pm for those wanting to extend their day during College for Kids. Friday Field Trips are also offered on the Friday of each session week from 8:30 am -2:30 pm.

Tuition is $75 per class plus a materials fee is noted. Payment is required upon registration. Space is limited. A limited number of scholarships are provided by theICC Educational Foundation.

Effective July 1: ICC is Smoke Free/Tobacco FreeIllinois state law requires all college campuses to be completely smoke free and tobacco freebeginning July 1, and Illinois Central College hasrevised its current policy to comply with the law.ICC’s Board of Trustees recently passed a smokefree/tobacco free policy prohibiting the carrying,usage, burning, inhaling, or exhaling of tobaccoor related products on college grounds.
