Contact Person Josh Evans – VP of Government Relations or Emily Miller – Director of Policy for Behavioral Health Interested parties should send cover letter and resume via email to Josh Evans at [email protected] or Emily Miller at [email protected] General Description of Organization IARF is a statewide trade association that represents community providers of supports and services for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Internship Description – Behavioral Health Policy Intern Duties will include:

• Legislative research assistance; • Policy research assistance; • State advisory meeting attendance (extensive note taking required); • Event coordination and planning; • Newsletter, memo and/or policy brief assistance (strong written communication skills required); • Other duties as assigned.

Student Learning Experience An internship with IARF will provide extensive insight into the environment and experiences of state government – providing extensive learning in both the legislative and policy side of government. The internship will serve as experience to sharpen research, communication, and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment. Internship will coincide with the spring legislative session of the Illinois General Assembly, and will provide the opportunity for impact into the legislative forum in Illinois. Hours per Week Hours may vary – up to 20 hours a week Number of Weeks Internship will span 12-16 weeks Position Available Spring Session – Internship to begin in January Paid/Unpaid Negotiable
