DAL 2007 SEMPRE DALLA PARTE DEI BAMBINI!
Siamo una fondazione nata nel 2007 per desiderio del Dott. Massimo Zanetti e dei figli Laura e Matteo e, dal
2008, abbiamo il riconoscimento ONLUS (Organizzazione Non Lucrativa di Utilità Sociale). La nostra missione è aiutare i minori in difficoltà attraverso il sostegno a progetti, nazionali e internazionali, che favoriscono l’assistenza sanitaria e alimentare, l’istruzione, l’accoglienza e il supporto psicologico. I progetti, sostenuti attraverso l’erogazione di contributi, vengono selezionati attentamente e monitorati sotto il profilo qualitativo, economico e gestionale, anche effettuando visite in loco. La nostra filosofia è quella di lavorare in stretta sinergia con gli enti non profit che propongono e realizzano i progetti.A completamento della nostra missione, dal 2010 organizziamo eventi di raccolta fondi e incontri di sensibilizzazione e formazione diretti ai giovani e a tutti coloro che sono interessati a tematiche a noi care, come i diritti dei minori, le loro problematiche, la cooperazione allo sviluppo e la solidarietà in generale.Di seguito potete trovare una sintesi dei progetti e degli eventi più rilevanti che abbiamo sostenuto e realizzato nel corso del 2015: si tratta di un semplice e breve resoconto per raccontare, a tutti coloro che ci conoscono e ci sono vicini, cosa abbiamo fatto per essere sempre dalla parte dei bambini.
SINCE 2007 ALWAYS ON CHILDREN’S SIDE!
In 2007 our Foundation was established through the vision of
Mr. Massimo Zanetti and his children Laura and Matteo and
since 2008 it has been recognized as a socially useful NPO
(non-profit organization). Our mission is to help underprivileged
children by financially supporting national and international
projects which provide health care and food assistance,
education, housing and psychological help. The projects we
support by allocating grants are carefully selected on the
basis of an accurate analysis of their quality standards. Once
selected, we closely monitor each organization’s financial
and management profile as well as making on-site visits. In
addition, we always work closely with non-profit organizations
that develop and implement these projects.
Since 2010, we have also been active in organizing fundraising
projects and events to raise awareness about our mission. In
addition, we facilitate training sessions for students and for
those who share our concerns, such as children’s rights and
problems, development cooperation and solidarity in general.
This document is a summary of the most important projects
and events we financially supported and implemented in 2015.
It is a concise and straightforward report to tell all those people
who know us and are close to us what we did in 2015 to remain
always on children’s side.

with which one person or one culture presumes to understand or judge

The journey across cultures, and the diverse lives of ours is firstly a
valuable tool of knowledge, rather than an invaluable opportunity for
enrichment.
But the journey can be an opportunity to pay attention to detail as well as
an interesting opportunity as regards the people we meet, their distinctive
traits and their problems.
And all this has always inspired Fondazione Zanetti Onlus: the desire to
help those whom we meet on our journeys.
We have the privilege of being able to help, where possible, those who are experiencing difficult times and we have
chosen to do this by taking care of the weakest and the most exposed: children and minors.
We try to do this with as much care, sensitivity and discretion as possible, focusing on their needs and the social
framework in which they live, without ever forgetting our sole objective: to offer them the chance of a better life.
2015 has been a very exciting year, full of projects and journeys: it has taken us to distant shores, with 14 international
projects which we have supported in terms of food, education and health in some of the poorest countries of the world.
Furthermore, we have participated in national projects in favour of children, who are severely disadvantaged and we
have continued to offer school children the chance to attend awareness-raising events, in order to offer them the
opportunity of “travelling” somewhere else, so they can get to know the world around them, because we are convinced
that each one of them can bring about important changes.
2015 has, therefore, been very exciting and satisfactory, for which we must thank, first and foremost, those who have
“created” the Fondazione and also all the people who have helped us and who have supported our objectives.

Il viaggio attraverso le culture, le realtà e le vite diverse dalla nostra è un prezioso strumento di conoscenza,
prima ancora che un’inestimabile occasione di arricchimento.
Ma il viaggio non può non essere occasione di attenzione ed interesse per le persone che incontriamo,
per le loro peculiarità, per i loro problemi.
È questo il sentimento che anima, da sempre, la Fondazione Zanetti Onlus: il desiderio di aiutare coloro
che incontriamo nei nostri viaggi.
Abbiamo il privilegio di poter aiutare, per quanto ci è possibile, chi vive momenti di difficoltà e abbiamo
scelto di farlo prendendoci cura dei più deboli e dei più esposti: i bambini e i minori.
Cerchiamo di farlo con tutta la cautela, la delicatezza e la discrezione di cui siamo capaci, facendo
attenzione ai loro bisogni e al contesto sociale in cui sono inseriti, senza mai dimenticare il nostro unico
obiettivo: offrire loro una speranza di vita migliore.
Il 2015 è stato un anno denso di progetti, di viaggi ed emozioni: ci ha portato lontano, con 14 progetti
internazionali che abbiamo sostenuto, in tema di alimentazione, istruzione e salute, in alcuni dei paesi
più poveri al mondo.
Siamo poi intervenuti in progetti nazionali a favore di bambini che vivono situazioni di grave disagio
e abbiamo continuato a proporre incontri di sensibilizzazione ai ragazzi delle scuole, per offrire loro
l’occasione di “viaggiare” verso l’altro e verso l’altrove, di conoscere il mondo che li circonda, perché
siamo convinti che ciascuno di loro può essere portatore di importanti cambiamenti.
E, dunque, è stato un 2015 ricco di emozioni e di soddisfazioni, per le quali dobbiamo ringraziare,
anzitutto, chi ha fatto “nascere” la Fondazione, nonché tutte le persone che ci hanno aiutato e che
hanno sostenuto i nostri obiettivi.

d Nel 2015 abbiamo sostenuto in tutto 18 progetti,
4 dei quali si sono sviluppati in Italia e 14 in altri
paesi del Mondo.
Alcuni progetti sono stati sostenuti totalmente,
per altri, invece abbiamo contribuito ad una parte
che si è rivelata comunque importante per il
raggiungimento dell’obiettivo.
Di seguito presentiamo tutti i progetti, internazionali
e nazionali, che abbiamo sostenuto, descrivendo
brevemente l’obiettivo principale e la natura
dell’intervento realizzato con i contributi da noi
erogati.
In 2015, we supported 18 projects in total, 4 of
which were developed in Italy and 14 in other
countries of the world.
Some projects were supported completely, others
we contributed to in part, but this still proved to
be important in achieving the objective.
Please see below all the international and national
projects which we have supported, with a brief
description of the key objective and the type of
operation, carried out as a result of the financial
contributions provided by us.
PROGETTI INTERNAZIONALIINTERNATIONAL PROJECTS
SOTEGNO ALLA CASA FAMIGLIA DI PADRE ABEL LILUALA A POINTE NOIRE
Anche nel 2015 abbiamo sostenuto la casa famiglia di Padre Abel Liluala, che a Pointe Noire accoglie 20 ragazzi, orfani o provenienti da famiglie in grave stato di povertà, e 6 educatori.Abbiamo scelto di continuare a sostenere la copertura, almeno in parte, delle ingenti spese che Padre Abel deve affrontare per l’acquisto di generi alimentari, farmaci e materiale didattico a favore dei ragazzi di cui si prende cura.ll nostro sostegno è stato possibile attraverso l’Associazione Volontari di Soliderietà Onlus di Colle Umberto (TV).
PASTI, LIBRI E MATERIALE DIDATTICO PER GLI STUDENTI DELLA SCUOLA PROFESSIONALE DI NJOMBE
Per il terzo anno consecutivo abbiamo supportato il progetto a favore della Scuola professionale di Njombe.Dopo aver sostenuto la costruzione dell’aula di agraria e l’acquisto delle attrezzature tecniche, abbiamo deciso di sostenere i giovani studenti dell’Istituto, garantendo loro i libri e il materiale didattico nonché un pasto al giorno.La scuola accoglie i ragazzi, provenienti da famiglie in condizioni di grave indigenza, che abbiano completato almeno i sette anni di scuola primaria.La metodologia didattica innovativa della Scuola Professionale promuove la creazione di microimprese, gestite da studenti ed insegnanti, per sviluppare le competenze necessarie agli allievi, il 40% dei quali sono ragazze, a trovare un lavoro dignitoso e ad avviare un’attività imprenditoriale propria; nel corso del 2015, proprio per potenziare il legame tra la scuola e il mondo
SUPPORTO ALIMENTARE PER IL REPARTO PEDIATRICO DELL’OSPEDALE “RAOUL FOLLERAU”
L’ospedale “Raoul Follerau” di Bissau è l’unico ospedale della Guinea Bissau in grado di fornire cure appropriate per le malattie dell’età pediatrica; l’obiettivo del progetto, iniziato nel 2013, è quello di ridurre l’alto tasso di mortalità infantile determinato da malnutrizione, tubercolosi, polmonite, malaria e AIDS.Il nostro sostegno è stato utile, in particolare, per offrire a tutti i bambini ricoverati un’alimentazione corretta e sostanziosa, fondamentale per combattere la malnutrizione e rispondere al meglio alle terapie farmacologiche cui i piccoli sono sottoposti.Il progetto è stato sostenuto attraverso l’Associazione Ahead Onlus di Roma che da diversi anni segue direttamente le attività dell’ospedale.
SUPPORT FOR THE CASA FAMIGLIA DI
PADRE ABEL LILUALA AT POINTE NOIRE
The support for Father Abel Liluala’s children’s home
has continued into 2015.
This home at Pointe Noire houses 20 children, orphans
or children from poverty-stricken families and 6
teachers.
We have chosen to continue to help cover, at least in
part, the huge costs Father Abel is facing in buying
food, medical supplies and educational material for the
children he cares for.
Our support has been possible through the non-profit
organization “Associazione Volontari di Soliderietà” in
Colle Umberto (TV).
del lavoro, sono stati attivati 111 stage in realtà produttive locali.Agli studenti che terminano il percorso scolastico viene rilasciato un attestato legalmente riconosciuto: a due mesi dal diploma l’89% dei diplomati ha trovato lavoro.Il progetto è stato sostenuto attraverso la Fondazione ACRA di Milano, impegnata a contrastare la povertà sviluppando soluzioni innovative, sostenibili e partecipate.

MEALS, BOOKS AND SCHOOL MATERIAL
FOR THE PUPILS OF THE NJOMBE
VOCATIONAL SCHOOL
For the third consecutive year, we have supported the
project in favour of Njombe Vocational School.
After having supported the construction of the
agricultural science classroom and the purchase of
technical equipment, we decided to support the young
pupils of the institute by supplying them with books and
school material, as well as a meal every day.
The school takes children from destitute families, who
have completed at least seven years of primary school.
The innovative, teaching methodology of this school
promotes the creation of micro-enterprises, managed
by pupils and teachers, in order that the students,
40% of whom are girls, develop the skills required for
finding a decent job and launching their own business
activity; during 2015, with the aim of strengthening
the link between the school and the world of work, we
have organized 111 internships within local production
companies.
All pupils finishing school are issued with a legally-recognised
certificate: within two months of receiving the school diploma,
89% of pupils found work.
The project has been supported by the Fondazione ACRA in
Milan, committed to tackling poverty, by developing innovative,
sustainable and inclusive solutions.
FOOD SUPPLY FOR THE PAEDIATRIC
DEPARTMENT OF “RAOUL FOLLERAU”
HOSPITAL
The “Raoul Follerau” hospital in Bissau is the only hospital
in Guinea , capable of providing adequate care for children
suffering from diseases; the objective of the project, kicked off
in 2013 is to reduce the high infant mortality rate, caused by
malnutrition, tubercolosis, pneumonia, malaria and AIDS.
Our support has been particularly useful in offering all children
admitted to the hospital a sufficient, balanced diet, essential
for fighting against malnutrition and responding better to
pharmacological treatments for children.
The project has been supported by the non-profit organization
“Associazione Ahead” in Rome, which has been directly
supporting initiatives within the hospital for many years.
UNA “MAMMA” PER I BAMBINI ACCOLTI NEL CENTRO PILOTA ANDREEA DAMATO A SINGURENI
In Romania vengono abbandonati circa 9.000 bambini all’anno, la metà dei quali sotto i tre anni; proprio per dare accoglienza a questi bambini è nato il Centro Pilota Andreea Damato, un polo operativo di case famiglia situato a Singureni, a 40 km dalla capitale Bucarest, unico in Romania ad essere autorizzato e in grado di accogliere minori sieropositivi e malati di AIDS.Il nostro sostegno è stato destinato al progetto “Una mamma anche per me” che promuove il reinserimento familiare dei minori accolti. Le famiglie in cui i minori sono stati reinseriti sono state scelte con grande attenzione e supportate con corsi di formazione prima di entrare in rapporto con i bambini; obiettivo dell’intervento è di fare in modo che tutti i bambini ospitati nel centro trovino una famiglia che li accolga e li curi con amore.I fondi stanziati, oltre a contribuire alle spese assistenziali maternali, hanno consentito di realizzare un corso di formazione per 10 nuove assistenti maternali, finalizzato a dare una famiglia ad altrettanti minori.Il progetto è stato sostenuto attraverso la Fondazione Bambini in Emergenza Onlus di Roma, nata grazie al giornalista e conduttore televisivo Mino Damato.
ATTIVITÀ PER IL MIGLIORAMENTO DELLA SALUTE INFANTILE E NEONATALE IN NUGAAL (PUNTLAND)
Lo stato del Puntland, situato nel nord - est della Somalia, registra uno dei livelli di salute più bassi al mondo; in particolare la regione di Nugaal, con una popolazione di 650.000 abitanti, conta un solo ospedale di riferimento: il Garowe General Hospital (GGH) con 68 posti letto in totale.Il nostro sostegno ai bambini somali è arrivato proprio tramite questo Ospedale in cui il personale sanitario, sostenuto da missioni periodiche di medici italiani, lavora per incrementare la disponibilità e la qualità delle cure destinate ai neonati fin dalla gravidanza; in Somalia, infatti, ancora oggi il tasso di mortalità prenatale e neonatale supera di 30 volte quello italiano.Per comprendere l’importanza di questo progetto è sufficiente ricordare che nel 2013 al GGH avvenivano 45 parti al mese, nel corso del 2015, invece, la media è salita a 102, con una riduzione del 22% del tasso di mortalità neonatale.Il nostro supporto è stato utile per garantire la formazione teorica e pratica del personale sanitario del GGH e dei 21 centri di salute sul territorio, per l’acquisto di farmaci e attrezzature mediche di base e per lo svolgimento delle attività di monitoraggio dei reparti.Il progetto è stato sostenuto attraverso l’ONG CCM – Comitato Collaborazione Medica di Torino, organizzazione impegnata a promuovere l’accesso a cure di qualità in molti paesi africani.
A “MOTHER” FOR THE CHILDREN HOUSED IN
THE ‘CENTRO PILOTA ANDREEA DAMATO’ IN
SINGURENI
In Romania approximately 9,000 children are abandoned every
year, half of them, under three years old; the ‘Centro Pilota
Andreea Damato’ was established with the precise aim of
providing shelter for these children, a foster home operating
in Singureni, 40 km from the capital Bucharest, the only one in
Romania, authorised and capable to house children suffering
from AIDS or who are HIV positive.
Our support is intended for the project “A mother for me too”
which promotes the placement of the children housed at the
centre into a family unit. The families into which the children
are placed are selected very carefully and undergo training
courses before having any contact with the child; the objective
of the operation is to ensure that all children living in the centre
will find a family who will house them and be loving towards
them.
The funds allocated, as well as contributing to the costs of
foster carers, have enabled the provision of a training course
for 10 new foster carers, with the aim of finding a family for as
many children as possible.
The project has been supported by the non-profit organization
“Fondazione Bambini in Emergenza”, based in Rome,
established by the journalist and television host Mino Damato.
INITIATIVES FOR IMPROVING POST-
NATAL AND INFANT HEALTH IN NUGAAL
(PUNTLAND)
The state of Puntland, in the North East of Somalia, has one of the
lowest standards of health in the world; in particular the region of
Nugaal, with a population of 650,000 inhabitants. There is only
one referral hospital: the Garowe General Hospital (GGH) with 68
beds in total.
Our support for the Somalian children is possible as a result of this
hospital, in which medical staff, supported periodically by Italian
doctors, work to increase the availability and the quality of care for
infants, even during pregnancy; indeed in Somalia today, the ante-
natal and post-natal mortality rate is 30 times greater than in Italy.
In order to understand the importance of this project, it suffices
to remember that in 2013, 45 babies were born each month, but
during 2015 the average rose to 102, with a reduction in the post-
natal mortality rate of 22%.
Our support has been useful in guaranteeing both the theoretical
and practical training of the medical staff in the GGH and in the
21 health centres of the country, in purchasing medicines and
basic medical equipment and in implementing monitoring activities
within departments.
The project has been supported by the NGO CCM – Comitato
Collaborazione Medica in Turin, an organisation committed to
promoting access to quality care in many African countries.

SUPPORTO ALLA CASA DEL SORRISO DI RIO DE JANEIRO
La favela di Manguinho, alla periferia nord di Rio, ospita la Casa del Sorriso “Espaco Casa Viva”, un’oasi di accoglienza per bambini e adolescenti che offre loro attività educative e ricreative. Obiettivo prioritario del progetto è tutelare i minori, esposti a violenza, mercato della droga e sfruttamento, stimolarne lo sviluppo cognitivo, educarli, ascoltarli e migliorare il loro livello di vita.La Casa organizza corsi di informatica, danza, musica e pittura che coinvolgono 1800 ragazzi, ma non trascura il sostegno scolastico e psicologico, dando assistenza diretta a 300 giovanissimi.Il nostro supporto ha contribuito al funzionamento della Casa, ai rimborsi per i volontari impegnati nei servizi educativi e alle iniziative di sensibilizzazione comunitaria nella favela.“Espaco Casa Viva” è stato sostenuto attraverso l’ONG Cesvi Fondazione Onlus di Bergamo, che si occupa di numerose Case del Sorriso in diversi paesi.
ALIMENTI, FARMACI E VITAMINE PER I BAMBINI DEL CENTRO ALIMENTARE DI BOUSSE’
Il “Centro Medico e Nutrizionale Sacro Cuore” (C.R.E.N.) è nato nel 2007 con lo scopo di garantire accesso alle cure mediche alla popolazione dell’area di Boussè, a circa 35km dalla città di Nanorò, vittima, come in molti altri paesi africani, di malnutrizione acuta e cronica. Abbiamo scelto di sostenere per il quarto anno consecutivo il programma di supporto alimentare per i bambini malnutriti, fondamentale per garantire ai piccoli e alle loro mamme il miglioramento delle condizioni sanitarie e la riduzione del rischio di trasmissione dell’HIV, grazie all’impiego di latte artificiale.Il nostro supporto al C.R.E.N. è stato possibile attraverso l’Istituto Suore Apostole del Sacro Cuore di Boussè.
SUPPORT FOR THE “CASA DEL SORRISO” IN
RIO DE JANEIRO
The shanty town of Manguinho, on the Northern outskirts of Rio, is
home to the “Espaco Casa Viva”, a welcoming oasis for children and
adolescents, offering them school and recreational activities.
The main objective of the project is to protect minors, exposed to
violence and to the drug and exploitation markets, by stimulating
their cognitive development, educating them, listening to them and
improving their standard of living.
The ‘House’ organizes computer courses, as well as dance, music
and painting courses, involving 1800 children, without overlooking
school and psychological support, providing direct assistance to
300 young people.
Our support has contributed to the functioning of the ‘House’, to the
reimbursement of volunteers dedicated to school services and to
the community initiatives aimed at raising awareness in the shanty
town.
“Espaco Casa Viva” has been supported by the non-profit
organization “Cesvi Fondazione” in Bergamo, which is involved
with numerous ‘Houses of Smiles” in different countries.
FOOD, MEDICINES AND VITAMINS FOR THE
CHILDREN OF THE BOUSSE FOOD CENTRE
The “Centro Medico e Nutrizionale Sacro Cuore” (C.R.E.N.) was
established in 2007 with the aim of guaranteeing the population
of the Boussè area, approximately 35km from the city of Nanorò,
access to medical care in many other African countries, affected
by acute and chronic malnutrition.
We chose to support the food programme for malnourished
children for the fourth consecutive year, essential for guaranteeing
improved sanitary conditions for both the children and their
mothers and reducing the risk of transmitting HIV, thanks to the
use of formula milk.
Our support for the C.R.E.N. has been possible through the
Istituto Suore Apostole del Sacro Cuore in Boussè.

BURKINA FASO
SOSTEGNO A DISTANZA DI DUECENTO BAMBINI DI LOME’ E AVOUTOKPA
Nel corso del 2015 abbiamo supportato il progetto “Un tesoro di bambini” che, come nel 2012 e 2013, ha visto il sostegno a distanza di duecento bambini in età prescolare, ospitati nei centri diurni di Lomè e Avoutokpa, nella Regione Marittima del TogoIl supporto dato ha garantito ai bambini la possibilità di trascorrere gran parte della giornata in luoghi sicuri all’interno di un programma di protezione che fornisce educazione prescolare, cure sanitarie di base (quali vaccinazioni ed eliminazione dei parassiti intestinali) e un’alimentazione sana ed equilibrata. I bambini accolti nei centri sono per la gran parte figli di donne portfaix – le facchine del mercato vittime delle moderne forme di schiavitù – e di contadine che durante il giorno non possono prendersene cura e che hanno un reddito bassissimo.Il progetto, per quanto possibile, è anche finalizzato alla sensibilizzazione delle madri che, nel corso di molteplici incontri, acquisiscono una formazione in merito a norme igieniche di base, aspetti educativi, diritti dei bambini e prevenzione delle malattie sessualmente trasmissibili.Il progetto è stato sostenuto attraverso l’ONG CIFA Onlus di Torino.
LONG DISTANCE SUPPORT FOR TWO HUNDRED
CHILDREN IN LOME’ AND AVOUTOKPA
During 2015, we have supported the project “A treasure of
children,” which as in 2012 and 2013, has provided long-distance
support to two hundred children of pre-school age, housed in the
day care centres of Lomè and Avoutokpa, in the Maritime Region
of Togo.
The support given has guaranteed the children the opportunity
of spending most of the day in safe places within a protection
programme, which provides pre-school education, basic
healthcare (including vaccinations and elimination of intestinal
parasites) and a healthy and balanced diet. The children housed
in the centres are predominantly the children of female labourers
– the manual workers in the market, victims of the modern form of
slavery – and farmers, who are unable to take care of them during
the day and who have an extremely low salary.
The project, as far as possible, is aimed at raising awareness
among mothers, who, over the course of many meetings are taught
about basic hygiene standards, educational aspects, the rights of
children and the prevention of sexually-transmitted diseases.
The project has been supported by the NGO “CIFA”, based in

La cittadina di Garango, provincia di Boulgou, è situata nella regione centro orientale del paese e ospita un piccolo liceo, di cui stiamo sostenendo passo passo la costruzione, che nasce dalla volontà di offrire ai ragazzi l’opportunità di una formazione scolastica quanto più completa possibile; la mancanza di una struttura scolastica di questo tipo ha costretto i giovani intenzionati a proseguire il percorso di studio a rinunciare al proprio sogno o ad affrontare, con grande difficoltà, l’emigrazione in altri centri urbani.Dopo aver supportato la costruzione delle prime aule scolastiche, abbiamo deciso di sostenere la costruzione dei servizi igienici, per rendere più accogliente la struttura e più efficiente la sua gestione.Il progetto è stato sostenuto attraverso l’Associazione Educatori Africani – Italiani Senza Frontiere di Treviso.

The small town of Garango, in the province of Boulgou, is situated
in the eastern central region of the country. In this small town, we
have been supporting step by step the construction of a small high
school, born out of the desire to offer children the opportunity of
having as complete an education as possible; the lack of a school
building of this kind has forced young people willing to pursue a
course of study to give up on their dream or to move to other urban
centres with great difficulty.
After having supported the construction of the first classrooms, we
decided to support the construction of toilets to make the building
appear more welcoming and more efficient to manage.
The project has been supported by the “Associazione Educatori
Africani – Italiani Senza Frontiere” in Treviso.

FORMAZIONE DI OPERATORI SANITARI PER COMBATTERE LA MALNUTRIZIONE INFANTILE NELLE REGIONI DI IRINGA E NJOMBE
Per favorire la lotta alla malnutrizione infantile in Tanzania, abbiamo sostenuto per il secondo anno un importante progetto che si è sviluppato nelle regioni di Iringa e Njombe. Il progetto coinvolge 9 ospedali, 25 centri di salute e 18 dispensari distribuiti sul territorio delle due regioni succitate.Il sostegno è servito a dotare gli operatori di un automezzo 4x4 per attività di supervisione e formazione presso gli ospedali e i centri di salute e per effettuare lo screening nutrizionale presso i villaggi e le comunità.I beneficiari di questo sostegno, che è tutt’ora attivo, nel 2015 sono stati oltre 4700 bambini con meno di 5 anni affetti da malnutrizione grave acuta, ma hanno potuto beneficiare di quanto fatto anche 9300 bambini affetti da malnutrizione acuta globale.Il progetto è stato sostenuto attraverso l’ONG Medici con l’Africa Cuamm di Padova, la prima organizzazione italiana che si spende per la promozione e la tutela della salute delle popolazioni africane, con la quale collaboriamo da tempo per lo sviluppo di progetti e di attività di sensibilizzazione.
TRAINING OF HEALTHCARE WORKERS TO
COMBAT CHILD MALNUTRITION IN THE
IRINGA AND NJOMBE REGIONS
To promote the fight against child malnutrition in Tanzania, we
have supported an important project for the second year, which
has been developed in the Iringa and Njombe regions. The project
involves 9 hospitals, 25 health centres and 18 dispensaries, spread
throughout the two aforementioned regions.
The support is needed to provide the workers with a 4x4 vehicle
in order to carry out supervisory and training initiatives in the
hospitals and health centres and carry out nutritional screening in
the villages and communities.
In 2015, more than 4700 children under the age of 5, affected
by severe, acute malnutrition benefited from this support which is
still active, however, 9,300 children affected by acute malnutrition
globally have also been able to benefit from it.
The project has been supported by the NGO “Medici con
l’Africa Cuamm” in Padua, the first Italian organisation to strive
for the promotion and protection of the health of the African
population, with whom we have been working together for
some time to develop projects and initiatives, aimed at raising
awareness.

SOSTEGNO ALIMENTARE ALLE FAMIGLIE DEI BAMBINI DI UNA “SCUOLA DI STRADA”
Haiti è uno dei paesi più poveri al mondo: il 56% della popolazione soffre di malnutrizione e 1 bambino su 3 muore prima dei 5 anni. Il terremoto del 2010 ha prostrato un paese già in grave difficoltà.Per sopperire almeno in parte ad una condizione tanto disagiata, ad Haiti sono attive le “scuole di strada”, si tratta di 32 scuole che accolgono oltre 10.000 bambini fra i 2 e i 16 anni, appartenenti a famiglie in difficoltà che non sono in grado di consentire loro di frequentare una scuola vera e propria.Ad Haiti andare a scuola vuole dire anche, oltre all’istruzione, un pasto caldo, una divisa, cure mediche, materiale didattico, sostegno alla famiglia e, soprattutto, l’occasione di costruire un futuro migliore. Dei 300 insegnanti occupati nelle scuole oltre il 50% è costituito da ragazzi cresciuti nell’orfanotrofio NPH Kay St Helene, a prova della bontà dell’obiettivo del progetto.Il nostro sostegno, per il secondo anno consecutivo, è servito a donare ai bambini di una di queste scuole e alle loro famiglie un sacco di pasta alla settimana, pasta prodotta localmente dal centro di formazione professionale Francisville-città dei mestieri; considerato che ad Haiti il 70% della popolazione è disoccupata e che l’80% vive con meno di 1 dollaro al giorno, è facile comprendere quanto questo sostegno sia significativo.Il progetto è stato sostenuto attraverso la Fondazione Francesca Rava NPH Italia Onlus di Milano la cui mission è l’aiuto all’infanzia in condizioni di disagio, in Italia e nel mondo, ed è attiva da oltre trent’anni in questa poverissima isola.
FOOD SUPPORT FOR THE FAMILIES OF
CHILDREN OF A “STREET SCHOOL”
Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world: 56% of the
population suffer from malnutrition and 1 in 3 children die before
the age of 5. The earthquake of 2010 decimated a country already
experiencing severe difficulties.
To tackle such an impoverished situation, at least in part, 32 “street
schools” house more than 10,000 children between the ages of 2
and 16, who come from families in difficulty and who are not in a
position to allow their children to attend a proper school.
In Haiti, apart from learning, going to school also means a hot meal,
a uniform, medical treatment, school material, support for the
family and, above all, the opportunity to build a better future. More
than 50% of the 300 teachers working in the schools are children
who have grown up in the NPH Kay St Helene orphanage, which
proves the good intention behind this project.
For the second consecutive year, our support is needed to provide
the children of one of these schools and their families with a bag of
pasta each week; the pasta is produced locally by the professional
training centre “Francisville-città dei mestieri”; considering that in
Haiti 70% of the population is unemployed and 80% live on less
than 1 dollar per day, it is easy to understand how this support is
significant.
The project has been supported by the non-profit organization
“Fondazione Francesca Rava NPH Italia” in Milan, whose
mission is to help infants in disadvantaged situations, both in
Italy and around the world. The organization has been active for
more than thirty years on this poverty-stricken island.

SOSTEGNO PER L’ASSICURAZIONE SANITARIA E L’ALIMENTAZIONE PER LE RAGAZZE MADRI DI NYANZA E I LORO BAMBINI
A più di vent’anni dal genocidio che ha segnato la sua storia, il Rwanda è un paese tuttora attraversato da ferite profonde: ancora oggi una famiglia su tre è guidata da una donna e le vedove sono quasi 400.000.Un fenomeno fortemente in crescita è quello delle ragazze madri, spesso adolescenti, povere e senza alcun supporto familiare, vittime di una cultura che le marginalizza e le esclude.Il progetto “La casa del sorriso” offre alle ragazze madri accoglienza, supporto psicologico e formazione professionale, garantendo al contempo sostegno alimentare e sanitario ai loro bambini, in particolare il nostro impegno ha consentito di offrire un’adeguata assicurazione sanitaria a 650 fra ragazze e bambini e un sostegno alimentare a 230 di queste famiglie monoparentali.Il progetto è stato sostenuto attraverso MISSIONI ROG Onlus, una associazione italiana che supporta le missioni dei Padri Rogazionisti in vari paesi del mondo. Da 27 anni i Rogazionisti dirigono a Nyanza il Centro educativo Sant’Antonio, struttura di accoglienza per minori orfani e vulnerabili. Il progetto in favore delle ragazze madri e dei loro bambini è gestito da una associazione locale di donne rwandesi, chiamata “Missionarie Rogazioniste”.
SOSTEGNO ALLA RIABILITAZIONE PER I MINORI RICOVERATI PRESSO L’ISTITUTO NAZIONALE DEL CANCRO DI KIEV
Il nostro sostegno a favore dei bambini ricoverati presso l’Istituto del Cancro di Kiev, ha preso avvio nel 2012; ad una prima fase, che ha garantito la fornitura di materiale sanitario, ha fatto seguito nel corso del 2015 un progetto di riabilitazione con fisioterapia per i piccoli pazienti che sono stati sottoposti ad operazioni chirurgiche per l’asportazione di tumori solidi.Il reparto pediatrico dell’Istituto del Cancro, ancora ad oggi, presenta percentuali di guarigione inferiori alla media europea e la natura particolarmente invasiva degli interventi operati espone i ragazzi al rischio di perdita della mobilità e ipotrofia degli arti; per questi motivi la presenza di un programma di fisioterapia qualificato è fondamentale per garantire un recupero fisico adeguato.Il progetto è stato sostenuto attraverso la Fondazione Zaporuka di Kiev, che dal 2008 supporta i diritti fondamentali dei bambini ucraini.
SOSTEGNO A DISTANZA DI 10 BAMBINI DI KIRTIPUR
La città di Kirtipur, a soli 10 km dalla capitale del Nepal, Kathmandu, copre una vasta area rurale che ospita oltre 35.000 abitanti, gli alti tassi di disoccupazione e la povertà diffusa rendono molto difficile l’accesso alla scolarizzazione: solo il 37% dei bambini raggiunge il livello educativo primario e solo il 25% delle ragazze frequenta la scuola.Il programma “Bambini di Kirtipur”, che ha come obiettivo la continuità della scolarizzazione e che abbiamo sostenuto, garantisce ai ragazzi provenienti dalle fasce più deboli della popolazione la copertura delle spese scolastiche, del vitto, del vestiario e del materiale didattico.Il progetto è stato sostenuto attraverso la Fondazione Senza Frontiere Onlus di Castel Goffredo, Mantova, che promuove attività di sostegno all’istruzione, all’assistenza sanitaria e alla tutela ambientale nei paesi in via di sviluppo, anche tramite un programma di adozioni a distanza attuato in piena aderenza alle linee guida SAD (sostegno trasparente).Questo progetto è stato possibile anche grazie alle donazioni del gruppo

FOR THE SINGLE MOTHERS OF NYANZA AND
THEIR CHILDREN
More than twenty years after the genocide that has marked its
history, Rwanda is a country which still bears deep wounds: even
today one in three families are headed up by a woman and there
are almost 400,000 widows.
A phenomenon which is steadily increasing is that of single
mothers, often adolescents, poor and without any family support,
victims of a culture which marginalises and excludes them. The
“Houses of Smiles” project offers all single mothers a warm
welcome, psychological support and professional training,
guaranteeing at the same time support in terms of food and health
for their children. In particular, our commitment has enabled us to
offer adequate health insurance to 650 women and children and
food support for 230 of these single parent families.
The project has been supported by the non-profit organization
“MISSIONI ROG”, an Italian company which supports the
missions of the Rogationist Fathers in various countries of
the world. For 27 years, the Rogationist Fathers have been
managing the Sant’Antonio Education Centre in Nyanza, a
children-care facility for orphans and vulnerable children.
The project in favour of single mothers and their children is
managed by a local company made up of Rwandan women,
called “Rogationist Missionaries”.
SUPPORT FOR THE REHABILITATION OF MINORS
ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL AT THE NATIONAL
INSTITUTE FOR CANCER CARE IN KIEV
Our support in favour of children admitted to the Institute for
cancer care in Kiev, started in 2012; the initial phase, which
provided medical supplies was followed by a rehabilitation project
during 2015, offering physiotherapy to young patients who have
undergone surgical operations to remove solid tumours.
Even today, the Institute paediatric department, has lower
recovery rates than the European average and the particularly
invasive nature of the operations exposes children to the risk of
loss of mobility and hypotrophy of limbs; for these reasons, the
provision of a physiotherapy professional programme is essential
to guarantee an adequate physical recovery.
The project has been supported by the Fondazione Zaporuka
in Kiev, which has been supporting the fundamental rights of
Ukrainian babies since 2008.

LONG-DISTANCE SUPPORT FOR 10 CHILDREN
IN KIRTIPUR
The town of Kirtipur, just 10 km from Kathmandu, the capital
of Nepal, covers a vast rural area, housing more than 35,000
inhabitants. The high unemployment rates and widespread
poverty make access to schooling very difficult: only 37% of
children reach the primary school standard and only 25% of girls
attend school.
The aim of the “Children of Kirtipur” project - which we have
supported - is to ensure regular schooling and guarantee children
coming from the weakest areas of the population that school,
food, clothing and school material expenses are covered.
The project has been supported by the non-profit organization
“Fondazione Senza Frontiere” of Castel Goffredo, Mantua,
which promotes teaching-support initiatives, health care and
the protection of the environment in developing countries. It
also supports a long-distance adoption programme, which is
fully compliant with the SAD guidelines (transparent supply).

Il progetto “Nuove Ali” ha permesso la cura in Italia, attraverso il programma umanitario della Regione Emilia Romagna, di cinque minori: 4 affetti da cardiopatia congenita e uno da leucemia. I bambini, sempre accompagnati da un genitore, si sono recati in Italia perché nel loro paese d’origine non erano disponibili cure appropriate.Le spese di ricovero ed intervento sono state sostenute dalla Regione Emilia Romagna e dalla Azienda Sanitaria di riferimento, mentre le spese accessorie – viaggio, trasporti, ospitalità (vitto, alloggio, spese personali, medicinali) - sono state supportate grazie ai fondi da noi erogati.I 4 bambini cardiopatici, dopo il ricovero presso il reparto di Pediatria dell’Ospedale Civile di Ravenna per gli accertamenti, sono stati trasferito presso Cardiologia e Cardiochirurgia Pediatrica del Policlinico Sant’Orsola di Bologna per l’intervento; dopo 10/15 giorni di degenza i bambini sono stati ospitati con il genitore a Faenza per circa 40 giorni, prima del rientro a casa. Mentre il minore affetto da leucemia è stato seguito e ricoverato dall’ Unità Trapianto del Pol. Sant’Orsola di Bologna; la permanenza in Italia per questo caso è stata più lunga: tra accertamenti ed esami preliminari, trapianto di midollo (da fratello donatore compatibile) e degenza post-trapianto in appartamento la permanenza si è protratta per circa 5 mesi.Il progetto è strato sostenuto attraverso l’Associazione Cosmohelp Onlus di Faenza (RA) che affianchiamo da molti anni in progetti analoghi.Questo progetto è stato possibile anche grazie alle donazioni del gruppo

AFFFECTED BY SERIOUS ILLNESSES
The “Nuove Ali” (New Wings) project in Italy has provided
treatment for five minors through the humanitarian programme in
the Emilia Romagna region: 4 affected by congenital heart disease
and one with leukemia. The children, always accompanied by a
parent, are brought to Italy because appropriate treatment is not
available in their country of origin. The costs of the admission to
hospital and the operation have been supported by the Emilia
Romagna region and by the relevant health authority, while the
additional expenses – travel, transportation, living expenses (food,
accommodation, personal expenses, medicines) –have been
supported by funds supplied by us. Following their admission to
the paediatric department of the Ospedale Civile in Ravenna for
assessment, the 4 cardiopathic patients were transferred to the
paediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery departments of the
Policlinico Sant’Orsola in Bologna for the operation; after 10/15
days in hospital, the children were housed in Faenza, with their
parent, for approximately 40 days, before returning home. The
child suffering from leukemia, however, was brought and admitted
to the Transplant Department of the Pol. Sant’ Orsola in Bologna;
their stay in Italy in this case was longer: between assessments
and preliminary examinations, bone marrow transplant (from a
compatible brother) and post-transplant recovery in an apartment,
the stay was extended to approximately 5 months.

providing aid for similar projects for many years.

Il Villaggio SOS di Vicenza nasce con lo scopo si accogliere ragazzi senza cure, o a rischio di perderle, e sostenere le famiglie vulnerabili, garantendo ai bambini accolti un percorso di crescita psicofisica orientata al rientro in famiglia o, nel caso questo non sia possibile, al raggiungimento di un adeguato grado di autonomia e indipendenza.Il progetto “Casa papà con bambino”, in questo contesto, ha lo scopo di offrire ospitalità e supporto psicologico ai padri in difficoltà che si trovano soli con i propri figli. Il sostegno da noi offerto per il terzo anno è servito, oltre che al coordinamento dell’attività, soprattutto a consentire a papà e bambini di avere un supporto psicologico ed educativo appropriati.Il progetto è stato sostenuto attraverso SOS Villaggi dei Bambini, attivo in 134 Paesi nel mondo. In Italia è membro dell’Osservatorio Nazionale per l’Infanzia e l’Adolescenza e aiuta 530 persone, tra cui oltre 300 bambini e ragazzi, attraverso 7 Villaggi SOS e 1 programma di sostegno alle famiglie a Torino.
SOSTEGNO LEGALE E BORSE DI STUDIO PER MINORI STRANIERI NON ACCOMPAGNATI
Nel 2015 sono arrivati in Italia oltre 140.000 migranti, il 10% sono bambini la maggior parte dei quali (75 su 100) minori non accompagnati, che approdano nel nostro paese in fuga da guerre e povertà, spesso dopo anni di peregrinazioni e privi di figure adulte di riferimento.I ragazzi che arrivano sulle coste siciliane, vengono dapprima indirizzati ai Centri di Primo Soccorso, dove rimangono, anziché come previsto una o due settimane, fino ad 8 mesi; il progetto “Faro” nasce proprio con lo scopo di offrire a questi ragazzi supporto psicologico e psicosociale per affrontare la nuova realtà in cui si trovano inseriti e per rafforzare competenze e abilità che possano consentire loro una permanenza il più soddisfacente possibile.Il nostro aiuto ha consentito l’assegnazione di otto borse di studio-lavoro per altrettanti ragazzi tra i 14 e i 18 anni, particolarmente meritevoli, che hanno potuto così accedere a percorsi formativi e di avviamento al lavoro; è stato inoltre possibile offrire assistenza legale ai minori che trovano difficoltà nell’accoglimento delle richiesta di protezione internazionale.Il progetto è stato sostenuto attraverso Terre des Hommes Italia, nata nel 1989 con l’obiettivo di proteggere i bambini, garantendo loro un’istruzione adeguata, assistenza sanitaria e alimentare.
LEGAL SUPPORT AND SCHOLARSHIPS FOR
UNACCOMPANIED FOREIGN MINORS
In 2015, more than 140,000 migrants arrived in Italy, 10% are
children, the majority of whom (75 out of 100) are unaccompanied
minors, who have come to our country to escape war and poverty,
often after years of displacement and without a key adult figure.
The children who arrive on the Sicilian coasts are initially directed
to First Aid Centres, where they stay up to 8 months, rather than
one or two weeks as originally planned; the “Faro” project was
established with the aim of offering these children psychological
and psychosocial support to cope with the new situation in which
they find themselves and enabling them to have the most satisfying
a life as possible. Our help has enabled the allocation of eight work
scholarships for the same number of children, between the ages of
14 and 18; particularly worthy of note is the fact that they have been
able to access training courses and been granted authorization to
start working; it has also been possible to offer legal assistance
to minors who are experiencing difficulty in achieving international
protection.
The project has been supported by “Terre des Hommes Italia”,
established in 1989 with the objective of protecting children,
guaranteeing them an adequate education, health care and
food aid.
SUPPORT FOR THE “CASA PAPA’ CON
BAMBINO” PROJECT AT THE SOS VILLAGE IN
VICENZA
The SOS village in Vicenza has been established with the aim of
looking after children who are not being cared for or are at risk of not
being cared for and to support vulnerable families, guaranteeing
those children a psychophysical development, oriented towards
reintegration into their family, or otherwise, the achievement of an
adequate level of autonomy and independence.
In this context, the “Casa papà con bambino” project aims to offer
assistance and psychological support to fathers in difficulty, who
find themselves alone with their children. The support we have
offered for the third year, as well as coordinating the initiative,
is primarily to enable fathers and children to have appropriate
psychological and educational support.
The project has been supported by the SOS Villaggi dei Bambini,
active in 134 countries of the world. In Italy, it is a member of the
Osservatorio Nazionale per l’Infanzia e l’Adolescenza and helps
530 people, of whom 300 are babies and children, through 7
Villaggi SOS projects and one family support programme in
Turin.

Jeoffrey è un bambino nato con idrocefalo e spina bifida, una delle tante persone seguite dal Saint Martin CSA. Non si può muovere autonomamente e probabilmente non sarà mai in grado di farlo. Jeoffrey ha bisogno di un ausilio su misura che gli consenta di mantenere una postura corretta, evitando così altre malformazioni. Ma come può essere garantita un’attrezzatura specialistica in un villaggio rurale del Kenya? “La sedia di cartone” risponde a questa domanda con un’esperienza unica. Dal 2009 al Saint Martin CSA vengono costruiti ausili con una tecnica chiamata Appropriate Paper-based Technology – APT. Materiali poveri come il cartone riciclato sono trasformati in supporti che, oltre a svolgere la loro funzione specifica, consentono a tante persone con disabilità di partecipare alla vita familiare e sociale. Ogni anno sono più di 150 gli ausili che vengono costruiti al Saint Martin e di questi il 30% viene realizzato impiegando il cartone riciclato. L’ausilio diventa allora motore di cambiamento non solo per il bambino, ma anche per la sua famiglia e per l’intera comunità in cui vive e che lo accoglie. Abbiamo scelto di sostenere con entusiasmo la realizzazione del progetto “La sedia di cartone” della Fondazione Fontana di Padova, il cui scopo è sensibilizzare sulla disabilità in Kenya e di raccogliere fondi per il progetto del Saint Martin CSA.
“LA SEDIA DI CARTONE” DOCUMENTARY BY

Jeoffrey is a child born with hydrocephalus and spina bifida,
one of many people followed by Saint Martin CSA. He cannot
move independently and will probably never be able to do so.
Jeoffrey needs a mobility aid, which will enable him to maintain
a correct posture, and in so doing avoid other deformities. But
how can specialist equipment be available in a rural village in
Kenya? “The sedia di cartone” responds to this question with
unique experience.
Since 2009, mobility aids have been manufactured at Saint
Martin CSA, using technology called Appropriate Paper-based
Technology – APT. Cheap materials like recycled cardboard
are transformed, which besides playing their specific function,
enable many people with disabilities to participate in family
and social life. Every year more than 150 mobility aids are
manufactured in Saint Martin and of these, 30% are made
using recycled cardboard. The auxiliary aid therefore becomes

We have chosen to strongly support the development of this
project by the “Fondazione Fontana” in Padua, in order to raise
awareness about disability in Kenya and raise money for the
Saint Martin CSA project.

For the minors housed in the facility, it is essential to establish a
welcoming domestic environment, ensuring constant support in
school life and creating the best conditions for re-integration into
their family of origin. For these reasons, our support for the project
serves to guarantee, in part, adequate psychological support for
the children and the purchase of school material.
The project has been created by the “Associazione Segno
di Alleanza” in Treviso, whose own aim is to provide help for
minors in difficulty, through family networks.

initiatives, we have supported the creation of the “Socialeventi”
(Socialevents) calendar, prepared by the students of the
institute. The funds raised have been allocated for the purchase
of books and educational material.
VISITA AL “CENTRO PILOTA ANDREEA DAMATO” A SINGURENI, ROMANIA
Conoscere personalmente i beneficiari dei progetti di cooperazione che sosteniamo, il contesto culturale in cui si sviluppano gli stessi progetti e i rappresentanti delle istituzioni locali con cui collaboriamo è fondamentale per il nostro lavoro e per il buon esito delle nostre iniziative.Con questo spirito ad ottobre 2015 siamo stati alcuni giorni in Romania, a Singureni, per visitare il “Centro Pilota Andreea Damato”, un polo operativo di case famiglia, ed annesse strutture, in cui viene data accoglienza, ospitalità e cura ad alcuni dei numerosi bambini rumeni abbandonati. il Centro è nato grazie al giornalista Mino Damato ed ora è seguito dalla moglie Silvia Saini.All’interno di questo contesto, stiamo supportando il progetto “Una mamma anche per me” che sta inserendo in diverse famiglie - con ottimi risultati – alcuni dei minori accolti nel Centro.Come si può comprendere, lo scopo del progetto è fare in modo che, passo dopo passo, tutti i bambini abbandonati e ora seguiti dal Centro, trovino una famiglia che voglia prendersi cura di loro con amore.Visitare il Centro e andare presso le famiglie che hanno già accolto alcuni dei bambini abbandonati, è stato per noi particolarmente coinvolgente ed è stato veramente bello vedere quanto sono felici i bambini che hanno trovato una mamma e un papà.Ringraziamo di cuore Silvia Saini Damato, tutto lo staff della Fondazione Bambini in Emergenza e le suore che lavorano nel Centro per l’ottima accoglienza, ma soprattutto per l’importantissimo lavoro che stanno facendo con il cuore, con tanta serietà e tanto impegno.
VISIT TO THE “CENTRO PILOTA ANDREEA
DAMATO” IN SINGURENI, ROMANIA
Getting to know personally all those people who benefit from the
cooperation projects that we support, as well as the cultural context in
which these very projects develop and our partners - representatives
of the local institutions - is essential for our work and for achieving a
positive outcome with our initiatives.
In October 2015, with this spirit, we spent a few days in Singureni,
Romania visiting the “Centro Pilota Andreea Damato”, a foster home
and adjoining premises, which welcomes and gives hospitality and
care to some of the many abandoned Romanian children. The Centre
was established thanks to the journalist Mino Damato and is now
managed by his wife Silvia Saini.
Within this organisation, we are supporting the project “Una mamma
anche per me” which is placing some of the minors at the Centre into
different families with great results.
As you can understand, the aim of the project is to ensure, step by
step that all the abandoned children housed at the Centre, find a
family that wants to take care of and love them.
Visiting the Centre and the families who have already housed some of
these abandoned children has been particularly important for us and
it really has been wonderful to see how happy those children are, after
finding a mother and a father.
We give our heartfelt thanks to Silvia Saini Damato, all the staff at
Fondazione Bambini in Emergenza and the nuns who work in the
Centre for their wonderful welcome, but above all for the remarkably
important work they are doing with dedication, professionalism and
commitment.
INCONTRO CON L’ASSOCIAZIONE COSMOHELP ONLUS DI FAENZA (RA)
Elemento fondamentale della realizzazione di un progetto è la visita alle realtà che sosteniamo; in quest’ottica abbiamo incontrato l’associazione Cosmohelp Onlus di Faenza (RA) con la quale collaboriamo da alcuni anni. L’associazione segue numerosi bambini extracomunitari che vengono in Italia per essere curati presso l’Ospedale Sant’Orsola di Bologna e l’Ospedale Civile di Ravenna.Si occupa del loro viaggio, del soggiorno del bambino e del genitore che lo accompagna, degli spostamenti interni, dell’acquisto dei farmaci e di molto altro ancora. Per questi bambini sono viaggi di vitale importanza perché nei loro Paesi non potrebbero essere curati.Attraverso il nostro sostegno Cosmohelp nel 2015 ha potuto coprire le spese necessarie per seguire 4 bambini con cardiopatia congenita e un bambino con leucemia.In questa occasione abbiamo potuto conoscere il nuovo Presidente di Cosmohelp - il Dr. Giovanni Rosti (ex Primario di Oncologia presso l’Ospedale Ca’ Foncello di Treviso) - e vedere la loro attuale sede e incontrare uno dei piccoli ospiti. E’ stato un vero piacere poter passare delle ore con operatori che con tanta dedizione e serietà aiutano ogni anno, con ottimi risultati, moltissimi bambini malati.

COSMOHELP ONLUS DI FAENZA (RA)
A fundamental aspect in the development of a project is visiting the
organizations we support; with this in mind, we met with one of our
long-standing partners, the non-profit organization “Cosmohelp”
in Faenza (RA).
The organization follows many non-EU children, who come to Italy
to be treated at the Ospedale Sant’Orsola in Bologna and the
Ospedale Civile in Ravenna.
The organization takes responsibility for the children’s and their
parent journey to Italy, their accommodation, internal transfers, the
purchase of medicines and much more. These journeys are of vital
importance to these children, since treatment in their country of
origin is not available.
In 2015, as a result of our support, Cosmohelp was able to cover
the costs required to treat 4 children with congenital heart disease
and one child with leukemia.
On this occasion, we were able to meet the new Chairman of
Cosmohelp - Dr. Giovanni Rosti (the former Head of Oncology
at the Ospedale Ca’ Foncello of Treviso) –and see their current
offices and meet one of their little guests.
It was a real pleasure to be able to spend a few hours with
professionals who help so many sick children with such dedication
and professionalism every year with great results.

SOSTEGNO ALLA FORMAZIONE PROFESSIONALE DI MINORI IN DIFFICOLTA’
In occasione del devastante terremoto che ha colpito nel 2015 il Nepal, abbiamo voluto sostenere con un contributo speciale l’associazione Bhavisya, che opera a Bhaktapur, cittadina di 80.000 abitanti a 15 km dalla Capitale, offrendo un programma di sostegno e formazione per ragazzi disabili o provenienti da famiglie particolarmente disagiate.

As a result of the devastating earthquake which struck Nepal
in 2015, we wanted to make a special contribution to the

INCONTRI DI SENSIBILIZZAZIONE PER LE SCUOLE SECONDARIE DI SECONDO GRADO
Prosegue il nostro impegno nella sensibilizzazione dei ragazzi della Scuola Secondaria di Secondo Grado con il ciclo di incontri “Passi verso l’Altrove”, giunto alla terza edizione e che nel corso del 2015 ha visto la realizzazione di 9 appuntamenti.La formula, molto apprezzata dagli oltre 1400 ragazzi che hanno partecipato, ma anche dagli adulti, che pur non direttamente legati al mondo della scuola hanno deciso di aderire, affianca al racconto e alla testimonianza diretta, immagini e musica.Unico filo conduttore di tutti gli appuntamenti: avvicinarsi con rispetto e senza pregiudizi all’altro e all’altrove, per conoscere e comprendere realtà che sembrano lontane e scoprire le storie di quanti si impegnano per il prossimo con coraggio, dedizione ed entusiasmo.Molti i relatori che ci hanno aiutato, fra loro ricordiamo: Alessandra Ballerini, Andrea Segre, Marco Zuin, Silvia Saini Damato, Nicola Berti, Dominique Corti, Marco Cortesi e Mara Moschini.

MEETINGS TO RAISE AWARENESS IN
SECOND-LEVEL SECONDARY SCHOOLS
The cycle of meetings “Passi verso l’Altrove”, is continuing as
part of our commitment to raise awareness amongst children
in second-level secondary schools, now at its third edition,
with 9 meetings scheduled in 2015.
The concept, which blends story telling with images and
music, was much appreciated by more than 1400 children, as
well as by adults, who even though were not directly involved
in school life, they decided to join the initiative.
All meetings combine one single thread: to interact with others
with respect and without prejudice in order to get to know and
understand situations, which seem far away and discover the
stories of all those who help others with courage, passion and
dedication
We would like to mention some of the many speakers who
helped us, such as: Alessandra Ballerini, Andrea Segre, Marco
Zuin, Silvia Saini Damato, Nicola Berti, Dominique Corti, Marco
Cortesi e Mara Moschini .

Oltre alla selezione e al sostegno di progetti a favore
dei minori, anche nel 2015 ci siamo occupati
dell’organizzazione di eventi di sensibilizzazione per
informare e riflettere su tematiche a noi care.
Gli eventi, sempre ad ingresso gratuito e rivolti a tutti i
cittadini con particolare attenzione verso i più giovani,
hanno ottenuto un ottimo riscontro e sono stati realizzati
creando intense collaborazioni con diverse realtà non
profit e con persone con le quali condividiamo principi e
attenzione verso i minori in difficoltà.
Alcuni di questi eventi hanno anche portato a raccolte
fondi (si veda ad esempio l’evento “Gala 100 Women in
Hedge Funds”) sempre a favore di progetti umanitari.
Di seguito ricordiamo gli eventi principali.
In addition to selecting and supporting projects
for minors, in 2015 we also organised awareness
events to inform and reflect on issues dear to us.
Admission to these events was always free and
the events were addressed to everyone, especially
to youngsters. Overall they received excellent
feedback and developed intense collaboration
with the different non-profit organisations and with
people with whom we share principles and attention
for children in need.
Some of these events also led to fundraisings (see
for example the “Gala 100 Women in Hedge Funds”
- event) always for humanitarian projects.

Thanks to the valuable partnership with the Italian Red Cross
and the International School of Treviso, we have set up a
training evening, aimed at parents, teachers and dedicated to
the methods to be employed should a young child suffer an
obstruction of the airways.

Given the great success of previous years, the magic of “Fiabe al
Parco” (Fairytales in the Park) was also brought back in 2015, in
partnership with LILT Giocare in Corsia.
For one afternoon the park of Villa Zanetti was transformed into
a fantastic place full of fairies, elves and clowns, who made up
stories and games for the youngest, giving us the opportunity to
raise funds for the valuable entertainment activities which LILT
Giocare in Corsia carry out in the paediatric departments of the
Treviso and Conegliano hospitals.

The partnership with the Criminal Chamber of Treviso continues,
which, as usual sees us standing side by side with regard to the
normative analysis of extremely important social issues.
The conference, which is not just aimed at those working in
the sector, has raised qualified observations regarding the
amendments to the regulations concerning ill-treatment and
violence.

Bonanate e Francesco Bevilacqua.Il libro racconta vicende vere accadute presso il Lacor Hospital, l’ospedale ugandese creato dai coniugi Piero Corti e Lucille Teasdale.In questa occasione erano presenti gli autori e alcuni dei protagonisti del libro: Dominique Corti, presidente della Fondazione Corti, Fernanda Pellizzer, missionaria comboniana, e Bruno Corrado, già direttore del Lacor Hospital.I volontari di LILT Giocare in Corsia ci hanno affiancato leggendo brani tratti dal libro accompagnati da un sottofondo musicale.

The book recounts true events which occurred at Lacor Hospital,
the Ugandan hospital established by Piero Corti and Lucille
Teasdale, husband and wife.
On this occasion, the authors and some of the main characters
of the book were present: Dominique Corti, President of the
Fondazione Corti, Fernanda Pellizzer, Combonian missionary
and Bruno Corrado, director of Lacor Hospital.
The volunteers of “LILT Giocare in Corsia” have come with us, reading
passages taken from the book, accompanied by background music.

GALA DI 100 WOMEN IN HEDGE FUNDS PER IL PROGETTO EDU-CARE
100 Women in Hedge Funds, organizzazione internazionale attiva da 15 anni nell’ambito della promozione sociale, ha scelto di dedicare il proprio gala annuale, tenutosi a Milano il 18 novembre 2015, al sostegno del progetto EDU-CARE, ideato da SOS Villaggi dei Bambini in sinergia con noi. Il progetto ha lo scopo di migliorare le competenze educative e professionali di bambini e ragazzi accolti nei Villaggi SOS italiani.All’interno del progetto particolare attenzione è data alle bambine, alle ragazze e alle mamme con figli, in difficoltà sociali ed economiche, con l’obiettivo di fornire loro pari opportunità per l’istruzione e l’occupazione.Madrina del progetto Alena Seredova che nell’occasione ha ricevuto un premio per il suo sostegno all’infanzia priva di cure o a rischio di perderle.

100 WOMEN IN HEDGE FUNDS GALA FOR THE
EDU-CARE PROJECT
100 Women in Hedge Funds, an international organisation,
active for 15 years in the field of social advancement, has chosen
to dedicate its annual gala, held in Milan on 18th November 2015
to supporting the project EDU-CARE, set up by SOS Villaggi
dei Bambini in conjunction with us. The project has the aim of
improving the educational and professional skills of children
housed in the Italian Villaggi SOS.
Within the project, particular attention is given to bay girls, girls
and women with children, who are experiencing social and
economic difficulties, with the objective of providing them with
equal opportunities for both their education and employment.
The spokeperson for the project was Alena Seredova, who was
presented with an award for her support to children who are not
being cared for or are at risk of not being cared for.

The long partnership with LILT Giocare in Corsia and with the
musical group Quarto Profilo has brought us to “Treviso suona
rock” (Treviso plays rock and roll), an event promoted by the
Municipality of Treviso aimed at raising peoples’ awareness
with regard to the activities of LILT Giocare in Corsia of the
Fondazione.
A great opportunity, not just to listen to great music, but to talk
about solidarity and initiatives in favour of the many children
experiencing difficulties.
