Patel Education Society, Shree Babubhai V. Patel, Vice President Shree Manharbhai L.

Patel, In charge Secretary Shree Mohanbhai N. Patel and continuous motivation and

inspiration of Principal Dr. Latesh B. Chaudhari, Faculty of Engineering Technology and

Research, Bardoli has organized a One Day Workshop on ““IINNDDUUSSTTRRYY DDEEFFIINNEEDD PPRROOJJEECCTTSS

((IIDDPP)) MMEEEETT--UUPP WWIITTHH IINNDDUUSSTTRRYY && AACCAADDEEMMIIAA”” at the Auditorium Hall of F.E.T.R.

Campus on 7th July, 2016. The program was focused on the Industrial and Academic meet

up by sharing the knowledge base of industries and current need of Society.

This is an innovative initiative to bring academics and industries together on

common platform. Students’ innovative and creative attitude will be nurtured to solve

problems of industries in a structured and systematic manner. This would bring academia

closure to industries.

We invited various experts of distinct field and subject matter for the Electrical, Mechanical and

Chemical engineering Department students of Final Year Bachelors of Engineering Branches.

Total 360 around students as well as faculties of these branches had attended the workshop.

The workshop was conducted during the time period from 9:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

INTRODUCTION OF THE WORKSHOP:


The inauguration function of workshop was carried out in the presence of Chief

Guest Dr. Amit Arora (Professor, CTARA, IIT- Bombay), Guest of Honours Mr. Hetal

Mehta (President, Surat Engineering Vikas Association- SEVA and Director of Happy

Engineering Pvt. Ltd.) and Mr. Hasmukh Shah (Chairman Sub Committee, Textile/

Railway/ Skill Development & DRUCC Member, W-Railway, Mumbai Division, Director of

UMTA Management & Textiles Academy, Vapi and CEO of Kiran Traders).

The Journey of SEVA begins in 1995 with the idea for a platform providing knowledge and

information & up gradation in the field of Engineering. The association is working for

upliftment of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise and act as catalyst for Industries and

Institutes.

As the industrial experts, Mr. Pankaj Trivedi (Member, SEVA & Director of Hydro

Pneumatic Solutions, Surat), Dr. Pankaj Gandhi (Consultant, Surat), Mr. Mayank Dalal

(Secretary and Treasurer, SEVA and Chairman of energy & Non-conventional sources of

Energy- southern Gujarat Chamber of commerce & Industries), Mr. Lalit Kothari

(Member, VIA) and Mr. Hasmukh Tailor (Ex. G.M., Atul Ind. Pvt. Ltd.) were present for the

ceremony.

Mr. Kiran Bhatt (Office Superintendent, Sardar Vallabhbhai Education Society), Prof.

Chinmay D. Desai (Vice Principal, F.E.T.R.) and Prof. Alpesh B. Suthar (Principal,

N.G.Patel Polytechnic, Bardoli) and all department Head of F.E.T.R. were present for the

workshop.

As per the tradition of the Institute, All Invited Experts were warmly welcomed by

The Introduction of the Programme and welcome

speech was given by Principal Dr. Latesh B.

Chaudhari.

He gave the brief introduction of the institute and

Institutional Activities.

F.E.T.R. has initiated “IIDDPP –– SSHHOODDHH YYAATTRRAA” Activity

from this year. Institute has decided to offer 100 %

IDPs in Chemical Engineering Department.

Under the activity of “IIDDPP –– SSHHOODDHH YYAATTRRAA”, Institute has approached numbers of

Industries of Ankleshwar, Vapi, Surat and Dahej GIDC.

Chemical Engineering Department has carried out Environmental Audit and

Consultancy work of more than 50 Industries in the fields of Chemical,

Agrochemical, Thermal Power Stations, Pharmaceuticals, CEPTs and TSDF sites etc.

To Expose Industrial practices and provide necessary practical skills, till date 48

students of Mechanical Engineering Department had successfully completed

project based Summer Training in GGulf MMarine MMaintenance OOffshore SService Ltd.,

Dubai.

and thoughts about various emerging

sectors of Indian market. He has touched the

areas of Chemical Process Engineering, Food

Engineering, Extraction of bioactive

compounds, Downstream Processing,

Membrane separation, Application of

Microwave technology, Pulp and Paper

Engineering, Prebiotics and health foods.

Mr. Hetal Mehta, President, Surat Engineering Vikas

Association- SEVA and Director of Happy Engineering

Pvt. Ltd. had addressed the students with the thought of

invention to make the life easier of human beings. He has

shared the platform for manufacturing diamond

polishing machines and energy management / audits. He

suggested the future of the renewable energy sources

and appreciated the IPR practices of G.T.U. and students.

Mr. Hasmukh Shah, Chairman Sub Committee,

Member, W-Railway, Mumbai Division, Director of

UMTA Management & Textiles Academy, Vapi and

CEO of Kiran Traders has given the brief ideas

about the Textile technologies and challenges in

textile sectors. He showed his readiness for the

arrangements of the industrial visits and testing

facilities for the students. He suggested many IDP

to the students.

Mr. Pankaj Trivedi, Member of SEVA and

also associated with the various Industries

has focused on the development of various

agricultural instruments and their

redesign. He suggested not going for very

high End projects. Instead of that students

should select the simplest case and try to

evolve something good by some

modifications or other means that can really appreciable by the society and can take the

benefit of that. He emphasised to concentrate on single Subject and deep penetrate in

that. He also suggested solving real life problems like Agricultural, Industrial and Social

relevant.

Mr. Mayank Dalal, Secretary and

Treasurer of SEVA, suggested

various projects for Mechanical,

Electrical, Civil and Chemical

Engineering fields as the IDP.

Dr. Pankaj Gandhi, Consultant, Surat,

was seen very excited to share his

experience with students and encourage

the students for the Patent Research

exercises. He has shared is Medical,

Engineering and Advocate Experience

with the students. He suggested the

students for grasping the knowledge

from different fields and apply it in their career practices. He has talked about many

untouched area of interest like Diamond Industries machine development and

Maintenance, Medical Equipment Design and Development and many more.

He also suggested students to be the multiple Discipline oriented. In today’s

competitive market, only those people can survive who have multi filed knowledge and

can serve the society in the batter way.

At the End of the sessions, Dr. Amit Arora and Dr. Pankaj Gandhi had conducted

open session for interaction of 25 minutes and summarised the Workshop events. The

workshop was ended after the valedictory ceremony followed by Indian National

anthem. The master of ceremony was Prof. A. K. Desai.
