IHP Hosts Health Education Forum
OTD Program AccreditedThe AOTA Accreditation Council for OccupationalTherapy Education (ACOTE®) voted during its December2016 meeting to award the MGH Institute Entry-LevelDoctor of Occupational Therapy program fullaccreditation. The program, the first in New England tooffer an entry-level OTD degree, was awarded a five -year accreditation through 2021. Read full story.

CambridgeSide Galleria on December 21.
The IHP community participated in a number ofcharitable activities during the holiday season, includingraising money for organizations, donating toys for childrenin need, and sending cards to military personnel.

Susan Farrell, Director of Continuing and ProfessionalDevelopment at the IHP, co-hosted a three-day programfor future academic clinician-educators in December.Dozens of post-graduate trainees from five states andCanada participated in this hands-on course designedto help enhance their teaching skills and educationscholarship in the health professions. Over 20 faculty,including educators from the IHP, contributed to thisprogram. This was the fourth year for this course, co-sponsored with the Harvard Macy Institute, IcahnSchool of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City,Boston Children’s Hospital, and Partners HealthCareInternational.
IHP Celebrates Dignity & RespectLed by the Diversity Council,the Institute is participating inthe national Dignity &Respect Campaign for thefourth consecutive year. Thecampaign’s 30 Tips of Dignity
and Respect will be featured from January 9 toFebruary 7 on I-TV monitors, IHP Daily News, andposters in the Shouse and 2CC lobbies, as well asincluded in the Institute’s social media postings. Pluscheck your mail boxes for this year's Dignity & Respectbrochures. There will be a special welcome-backpresent for students on Tuesday, January 17, inaddition to other activities including a Winter WarmClothing Drive and yoga classes. The IHP DailyNews will be providing information on additionalactivities.

More than 250 people attended the Holiday Party onDecember 19, held at 2CC. In addition to people minglingand listening to the jazz trio while sharing holiday cheer,the school raised almost $3,200 from the silent auction forthe Welcome Home Initiative at the Constitution InnYMCA.
