Ignite awareness on Industrial Green Chemistry & Engineering (IGC&E) amongst the key stakeholders of Chemical Industry

Inspire industrial leadership to explore economic potential of IGC&E

Initiate strategic partnerships that offer a competitive edge to deal with environmental and economical challenges

Identify priority challenges of Scale-up and Commercialization of IGC&E practices

Invent core strategies to stay ahead of emerging global regulations on environmental issues

Innovate means for integrating technologies for both, eliminating hazard at the design stage as well in the manufacturing processes

Implement IGC&E practices to achieve the triple bottom line for our Planet, People & Profits

Industrialization of IGC&E to transform the 20th Century ‘Grey Industrial Age’ to 21st century ‘Green Industrial Age’

Impact, in a tangible way, the quality of air, water & soil through above deliberations.

Deliberations at IGCW

What is “Industrial Green Chemistry?”

An ecosystem for creating real-time value for chemical companies by providing and seeking relevant Services, Technologies, Product, Expertise & Solutions.

A commitment towards triple bottom-line benefits of Profit, Social Responsibility and Ecological Sustainability

A focus to recognize emerging global trends in the direction of Sustain ability and Environmental Safety

A platform to familiarize Industrial GC&E not as a different genre of chemistry but as an integral way of doing Chemical Processes

A context that goes beyond the theoretical understanding of ‘green’ chemistry and engineering (GC&E)

An attempt to bring GC&E based products, process & technologies from the corridors of laboratories to the cauldrons of industry

IGCW Symposium

Each Day of IGCW is to distinguish the existing paradigms of unsustainable manufacturing of chemical products in the background of

emerging sustainable trends and practices.

All 9-i (eye) Vision Themes will be catalyzed to distinguish unworkable trends, strategies and practices leading to new possibilities, new

phenomenon, new opportunities, new strategies, and new practices to Innovate, Integrate and Implement tangible and intangible, direct

and indirect benefits of running a Sustainable organisation in the direction of triple bottom lines- People, Planet & Profit.

* Not inclusive of local taxes as applicable

With more than 20 Industrial case-study presentations by experts and Industry leaders, over three days, around 9 Themes - is to zoom-into various aspects of industrial green chemistry and engineering practices and its

implementation.

IGCW (eye) Vision Theme Approach:

The structure of IGCW Symposium is uniquely

adapted on the 9-i (eye) Vision Themes to take

the Green Chemistry Industrialization and

implementation concepts beyond the

confines of the laboratory to the corridors of

industry and create tangible and intangible

benefits for all stakeholders of the chemical

industry.

Over 300 Chemical Industry delegates participated from:

Date: 8th December 2013, Day III of IGCW Convention ; Duration: 4 hrs

The objective of the “IGCW for Teachers” is to primarily identify enthusiastic teachers and professors interested in this field, and to guide, orient and inspire them to play the role of leaders and coordinators in their respective regions, and integrating innovative learning methodologies on green chemistry relevant topics in their existing curriculum.

The Workshop is designed for a selected 50-60 High School and Degree College Teachers and Professors of Chemistry from all over India.

The above workshops are integrated in the IGCW ecosystem with the objective to provide a platform for participating educators to interact with the global experts and the industry thought leaders on the subject, and to visit the IGCW- Expo for expanding their awareness on emerging trends and technologies.

Parallel events during IGCW-2013 Convention :

IGCW Conferences

IGCW Workshops

The objective of “IGCW for Students” is to provide an opportunity to a selected group of 50-60 students who are either pursuing their Masters’ programme in green chemistry and engineering or carrying out their Post doctoral Research work on relevant topics. The structure of the Students’ workshop will primarily sensitize the participants on the Industrial and commercial dynamics of implementing green chemistry and engineering practices, sharing in a nutshell its impact on the society and our Planet.

To identify and bring together Academia & Research Institutes, and facilitate them with an industrial platform to present their ‘ready- to-commercialize’ technologies to the Industry seeking solutions. To seek industry partners for scaling these technologies for resolving thier pressing environmental challenges To put-forth various partnership models and modus operand that will contribute in accelerating the implementation of Industry- Academia partnership projects.

The Industrial Green Chemistry Awards are one of the first Indian expressions, to acknowledge individuals, organisations, and institutes for recognizing the importance and urgency towards integrating the principles of Green Chemistry and Engineering into their conventional ways of doing chemistry.

It is to acknowledge pioneering and path breaking initiatives which are promising, and when recognized, can serve as potential reference technologies and solutions for creating a wave of green chemistry and engineering based initiatives across the chemical industry with a profit-people -planet inclusive approach.

“ It has been tremendously valuable and worthwhile to be attending this event over the past three days. The discussions that have taken

place, the presentations that have been made, the questions that have been answered and addressed have revealed the insight, have

revealed a passion, have revealed a sense of urgency that things which are essential now move forward. ”

Prof. Paul Anastas, Head - R &D, Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), USA

I think that passion is what is in abundance here; you can see it in the young students, you can see it in all the industrialists. It was a great

conference, and I look forward to growing collaborations as we move forward. - Dr. John Warner, President & CPO, Warner Babcock Institute for Green Chemistry, USA
