AIESEC in Poland Voluntary Projects – designed to provide leadership experiences while supporting Polish educational sector in students’ development. We strive for creating open, conscious and actions-taking leaders of tomorrow - ready for multicultural environment, dynamic labour market and entrepreneurial challenges. Let’s do it together!

AIESEC is the global youth network impacting the world through leadership development experiences. AIESEC has been facilitating youth leadership activities as well as international internships & volunteer experiences for over 65 years, developing a global learning environment across 124 countries & territories.

All schedules are based on 3 blocks:

2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks

The possible combination of EP’s working during internship:

2-week work for one stakeholder, 2 weeks + 2 weeks = Generally 4-week work for one stakeholder, 2 weeks+2 weeks+ 2 weeks=in general 6-week work for one stakeholder.

SHORT DESCRIPTION & EXPLANATION:

Generally, there are 3 main blocks of the workshops:

Me & Myself (focus on the individual)Me & Others (focus on the group)Me & Environment (focus on the further surroundings)

Polish education system in based on several types of schools:

- Public or Private- Kindergartens, Primary School, Junior School, High Schools, Universities- Student’ age is following: to 6 years old, 6-12 years old, 12-16 years old, 16-19 years old

Arouse in young Polish kids of all the social backgrounds curiosity and dedication to other cultures. Conse-quently, the are „citizens of the world” from their earliest years.

Small kids in Poland do not have oppor-tunities to interact with other cultures of the world. Lack of the attitudes of being open, tolerant and curious.

AIM OF THE INTERSHIP:

POLISH SOCIAL PROBLEM:

-Learning the basics of the culture and language through contact with a representative of anothernationality/ies- My country in the international arena

- EP checks the knowledge of participants every week- Showing the kid how to draw the country that it wants to visit- Teaching kids to dance a typical dance from the EP’s country of origin- Teaching the kids to sing a song from EP’s country of origin and understand its meaning.

- The kid learns a foreign language/ wants to do it.- The kid wants to visit other countries.

- EP checks the knowledge of participants every week- Showing kids how to search for basic info about the foreign countries (google graphics, wikipe-dia, books, etc.- Enabling kids to show as a scene or draw a picture of di�erent country character-istics (at least 2x)

- The kid learns a foreign language/ wants to do it.- The kid wants to visit other countries.- The kid is able to search for and �nd information about other countries and basic culture.- The kid is able to tell about basic di�erences between countries.

- EP checks the knowledge of participants every week- Showing videos of typical country customs and traditions, explaining their meaning, making the kids describe it with their own words- Organizing event for the parents at the end of the workshops’ cycle: kids performing scenes in English showing di�erent countiries’ traditions.

- The kid reacts positively to culture di�erences. - The kid does not think with stereotypes.

Growth of consciousness among the young Polish people on career & future planning’s need and meaning more aware young leaders for Polish society!

Lack of skills connected with making educa-tion and career choices, Lack of knowledge about own interests and career predisposi-tion , Half of junior high school students cannot tell at all what is their plan for future job, Very low interest in vocational education (stereotypes), High unemployment among people under 25 y.o. (28.4 % Eurostat)

AIM OF THE INTERSHIP:

POLISH SOCIAL PROBLEM:

- Future planning understanding- Provident of the need of constant development and self-educating- Feeling of responsibility for your own futureWork related satisfaction-self-realization

- EP creates with the partici-pants of the development path for the next one year, three years, �ve years- EP reminds participants of the need for continual learning- Decision making tools creation- 1,3,5 years ahead vision of workshops participant

- Tools for personal goals setting and general planning- Personal predispositions tests – results basing for the planning- Tools for decision making- E-learning platforms: research, enrolling for the courses, results of research presentation and exchange (EP+participants)

- EP presents and creates with participants CV and other materials for job application - EP stimulates the curiosity of participants about future and career- EP encourages partici-pants to create their own business

- CV & other application materials creation rules – esp in English- Event for school based on storytelling : „zero to hero” stories research and demon-stration + previously promo-tion in the school; channels – to be de�ned by the EP with support of project’s participants, target audience: students non-participants

- EP realizes participants how to active search job- EP is �nal responsible for the event preparation about showing the change of people and how to achieve success- EP creates student’s business plan, evaluates - EP encourages participants to actively develop through the creation of databases of e-learning courses, training, interesting articles - EP prepares tools for goals setting and career planning-it, and shows how it can be implemented

- Labour market research & analysis : global and Poland – group work, group presentation, local – individual- Future jobs – are their compatible with local reality & education opportunities- Closing event engaging parents : participants sharing on their future goals and vision acknowl-edgment

- Growth of believe in oneself and one’s capabili-ties- Skills gain on independ-ent decision making

- Conscious choice of career- Knowledge gain on future jobs and relevant for labour market opportunities- Decrease of unemployed graduates’ number on the labour market- Skills upgrade on job’s research and application materials creation - Parents know how to support their kids choices- Awareness growth among parents

Enabling Polish students to manage their own �nances, start businesses and start investing their money - driving awareness , providing knowl-edge and know-how.

Young people not aware of the need to have basic �nancial education and they are facing both : low money supply and low quality education on the topic in Polish schools. Additionally there is the lack of one coherent system of education on �nancial topics. Young people’s start-up usually not surviv-ing �rst crucial 2 years – poor business planning. Young people not aware of basic �nancial factors and mechanism = lack of courage (~knowledge ~know- how) to invest in order to gain pro�t.

- EP encourages students to taking care of saving and creating a personal �nancial plan- EP motivates participants and delivers knowledge to create their own budget

- Attitude to the external environment and the customer- Young people saving money monthly - Progress in �nancial knowledge development among students

- EP checks the knowledge of participants every week.- EP motivates participants to �nd information about the most attractive countries and to create ppt presentation about varied countries.- EP organizes debate about Poland and EP’s countries. - EP presents movies about her/her local habits and cultures.

- The kid is able to search for and �nd information about other countries and basic culture.- The kid is able to tell about basic di�erences between countries.

- EP checks the knowledge of participants every week.- EP reduces the awareness of students about stereotypes.- EP organizes closing event for parents and project’s participants about culture and local tradition.

Enabling every young person in Poland to gain practical language communication skills, for free.

Young people have barrier in practical, every day usage of English and/or other languages Language classes in polish schools do not prepare for practical language daily usage Polish youths have to pay for extra-curriculum language classes, esp. for exams preparation – not everyone can a�ord it.

POLISH SOCIAL PROBLEM:

- Young people able to have a smooth and �uent conversation on basic topics (esp. covered by �nal exams standards)

- EP to check and give feedback Students get to know the basics of the EP country of origin history- Setting personal goals connected with language studying for every participant at the beginning of workshop cycle- EP prepared classes which are based on historical, traditional and cultural background of the home EP country - EP encourages participants to expand their knowledge about the history, culture, art, literature - Conducting the communica-tion skills language check weekly (monitoring progress)- Conducting vocabulary quiz weekly (monitoring progress) Students prepare all the longer written forms

- Upgrading of communi-cation skills in foreign language usage as the result of being the project’s participant- Young people able to have a smooth and �uent conversation on basic topics (esp. covered by �nal exams standards).- Students can practice creating written forms more (esp. covered by �nal exams standards)

- EP to check and give feedback Students get to know the basics of the EP country of origin history – in teams they conduct research on this topic, prepare presen-tations about it and deliver in English (or other language) - Describing pictures in English to each other time in 1-2 minutes(min once a week)- Students preparing scenes

- Students can smoothly oral communicate with others.- Students are acquainted with culture context : general history picture of the countries from given language speaking area, greatest authors + their works, etc.

- Organizing Langauge Speed Tables- EP conducts meetings and training courses on globaliza-tion

- Students know how to use language skills in life.
