Maintaining constant downhill travel speedAuto Retard Speed Control(ARSC)ARSC is available as an option. This allows you to simply set the downhill travelspeed and go down slopes at a constant speed (travel speed permitted from brakeperformance). As a result, you can concentrate on steering. The speed can be set atincrements of 1 km/h per one click (+ $t1pp7h of setting speed) to match the optimumspeed for the slope. Also, when it is predicted that the retarder oil temperaturebecomes overheat, since the retarder oil temperature is always monitored, operatoris informed this by warning lamp.

PLM II (Memory card payload meter)This system allows the production volume and the workingconditions on the dump truck to be analyzed and controlleddirectly via a personal computer. The system can store up to2900 working cycles.

Engine exhaust retarder:The retarder capacity is 30% higher, permitting faster speeds ondownhill slopes. This improves safety and hauling performance.

Three-mode hydropneumatic suspension:To fufther enhance driving comfort, automatic three-modesuspension is available as an option. This enables the operatorto select one of three cushioning effects (SOFT, MEDIUM orHARD), depending on road conditions, for improved dampingcontrol.

Antilock braking system (ABS)Using its outstanding electronics tecnology, Komatsu is the firstin the industry to introduce ABS on construction machinery.This system prevents the tires from locking causing skiddingunder slippery conditions while applying the service brake.
