Part 3. Record and upload to Panopto a video lecture
3.1 Motivation and basic references
The use of video lecture capture systems is expanding among academic institutions in parallel
with the expansion of online and distance learning programs. Additionally, it can serve thepurpose of providing access to class lectures for students who may need remediation, without
using regular classroom time for that purpose. Video lecture capture may also useful in cases
where students may have legitimate reasons for missing class and need access to what wascovered. Most importantly, it can be a tool for allowing students to spend more time note-taking
and reflecting on the salient points from the lecture. It provides them with another opportunity to
grasp what was said.
For further discussion on video lecture capture, please review, "Video lecture capturing" (read onpage 39-40 ICTE, Galvis 2009).
