Welcome to beautiful Duluth and the fi fth annual All Pints North Summer Brew Fest!

All Pints North has quickly become the essential Minnesota craft beer festival. The amazing city of Duluth and our Guild’s enthusiastic membership all deserve credit, but nowhere is more credit due than to you and your fellow craft beer enthusiasts attending this year’s fest. Every year your enthusiasm, respect and passion for Minnesota Craft Beer only seems to grow and we are honored to share this weekend with you!

It’s also important to note that over the past year more than 20 new breweries have joined the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild — with more being added each week — bringing our total membership to nearly 100 breweries. Many of our new members will be pouring their beer here today, so be sure to try their beer and welcome them to their fi rst All Pints North.

CRAFT BEER EDUCATION — CURATED BY ONE SIMPLE PLAN Educating the public about craft beer is part of the mission of the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild. Beyond sampling craft beer at this festival, we have put together a group of panels and educators that focus on various aspects of the craft beer experience.

The use of herbs to add fl avor and bitterness to beer is as old as beer itself. But it faded with the discovery of hops a thousand years ago. Modern brewers are reviving the practice — recreating the recipes of old and crafting bold new experiments. Some are even foraging ingre-dients from the world around them. Michael and Rob discuss the ins and outs of using herbs for brewing and pour some of their favorite example of this new trend.

The presentation will discuss the brewery’s innovative approach to dry hopping and the ways in which Sierra Nevada has changed their dry hopping practices while growing as a company.

5:00 PM — THE 4ONTHEFLOORThe 4onthefl oor deliver stompin’ blues at an alarming intensity. 4onthefl oor was born in the bottom of a bourbon bottle with the idea that it’s effi ng time to have some fun and make amazing music as well. Audiences immediately took to the infectious driving feel of not one, but four bass drums pulsing to the beat of the songs. The music is inspired by the gutsy stomp of the Delta Blues and the hoe-downs from America’s past and present.

TASTING BEER BASICSAll Pints North is an opportunity to sample craft beers from great brewers across the state and the nation. Make the most of it by taking the time to savor the fl avor. With every beer you taste follow this simple three-step process; smell, see, sample.

SMELL — Don’t be shy. Stick your nose deep in the glass and take a big whiff. Breathe in the bright earth, spice and citrus of the hops. Let the cereal smells of malted grains overtake your senses. Yeast too brings smells; fruit, spice, sulfur, sour and funk.

SEE — Hold your glass up to the light. Take note of each beer’s jewel-like color and pristine clar-ity (or the stylistic lack thereof). Brewers take great pains to raise that frothy head. Give them back a moment of your time to admire its tex-ture, color and duration.

SAMPLE — Finally you taste the beer. The sen-sation is so much sweeter for having indulged the fi rst two steps. Let the sample sit a mo-ment on your tongue. Is it a malty beer or do the hops hold sway? Perhaps it’s yeast that takes the day. And is that a subtle hint of spice that lurks in the background?

10K Brewing is the story of a brother and sister team who have spent their entire lives in Minnesota, and want to share their love for craft beer with the world. Together, they forged ahead, working tirelessly to change zoning laws, liquor laws and more with the City of Anoka. 10K Brewing ultimately opened in Nov. 2015, changing history in downtown Anoka and offering a unique rotating selection of beer complimented by a rotating selection of entertainment. 56 Brewing [BOOTH # 18 ]

We are a NE MPLS Microbrewery that opened in May 2015. We use locally sourced ingredients and are community focused with our business plan and mission. We brew delicious craft beer and create amazing infusions! We have a sample room to buy growlers, taste the beer, meet Zeus the brew dog, and chat with the owners and brewers each weekend. We are described as a “Diamond in the Rough” as we are in an industrial railroad area and hard to fi nd but phenomenal brews. We are opening a new Taproom in January of 2017 near our current location. You can fi nd our beer in Local MSLP restaurants and bars and all the way to Grandview Lodge!

• NE Nectar Honey Kolsch — This is a pale, lighter bodied ale that is smooth, clean and refreshing. Additions of 30 lbs of local Honey give this a sweeter character as it ferments clean. It is brewed with 3 different malts and copious amounts of honey added at the end of the batch.

ABV: 5% IBU: 23 SERVING TYPE: Draft

• California Street IPA Our California Street IPA is primarily a single hop IPA brewed with El Dorado hops. These hops produce the aroma of tropical fruit and the fl avors of pears and stone fruit. The late addition of a bittering hop provides a backbone balance to the fl avor. Smooth and delicious.

ABV:6.80% IBU: 65 SERVING TYPE: Draft

• Walnut JoyDark Chocolate Coconut Stout w/ Black Walnuts — A rich and complex stout: Smooth, sweet and dark tones without being overpowering. Forefront aromas of chocolate, roasted dark malts. A slight scent of hop bitterness and coconut with resounding velvet, smooth and roasted fl avor gives this an opulent fi nish on the palate.

ABV: 5.60% IBU: 31 SERVING TYPE: Draft

• Session 56 IPAIt is a very light colored, citrus IPA. Primarily cascade hops and a process called fi rst wort hopping gives it a smooth bitterness and helps showcase the fl avor of the cascade hops. This produced a beer that is relatively sweet with a very citrus-lemon aroma. Session IPA Perfected.

Our beers are available in the metro area on tap at your favorite restaurants or in the cooler of your local liquor store. I’m Thirsty Already!

• Hidden Beach IPA A big juicy American IPA with a lightly sweet malt body and bursting with notes of guava, pineapple and candied oranges. Hopped up with bucket loads of Centennial, Citra and Equinox. This beer is a limited release and is hard to fi nd, just like Hidden Beach in Minneapolis.

ABV: 6.3 IBU: 54 SERVING TYPE: Draft

• Murphy’s Storm Our fi rst ever collaboration beer with our friends from down the street at NorthGate Brewing. This is a Munich Ale, or is it a DunkAle? We don’t know. It’s brewed with Munich malt, French hops and American yeast. So yeah, go ahead and fi gure out a style for this.


• Radler A German inspired grapefruit Radler to quench your thirst on a hot day. This beer is made by brewing a light golden ale and house made grapefruit soda and blending them together at a 50:50 ratio. This gives the beer a wonderfully sweet grapefruit aroma and fl avor.


• SIX Pale Ale Firkin Our fl agship American Pale Ale cask conditioned and dry hopped with Lemon Drop and Calypso hops gives this balanced beer an extra bump of fruity and citrus aroma. That’s all I got. I mean, writing beer descriptions is hard, man.


• Cloud Wars Dry Hopped Weisse Beer We held onto a single keg of this Bavarian-Style Wheat Beer just for All Pints North. It’s our New World take on an Old Word beer. Cloudy in appearance with notes of clove, banana and pear esters. Dry hopped with Sorachi Ace to provide hints of lemon grass and dill.

• Supergiant Golden Ale Jarrylo hops give Supergiant some apple, pear, and melon notes, while the Lactose lends a slight sweetness. Oats soften the fi nish, for a clean, bright, Sagan-y kind of beer.


• First Light IPA This is the kind of IPA we love to drink. Kind of selfi sh, we know. Juicy and clean, with a slightly sweet fi nish.

In December 1986, 28-year-olds Marcy and Geoff Larson reignited the rich Alaskan brewing tradition when they opened the Alaskan Brewing Company, the 67th brewery in the country and the fi rst brewery in Juneau since Prohibition. Alaskan Brewing Co. offi cially began operations when Geoff, Marcy and 10 volunteers spent 12 hours hand packaging the fi rst 253 cases of Alaskan Amber for distribution in Juneau, Alaska. From that very humble beginning, Alaskan Brewing Co. has grown to become the most award-winning craft brewery in the history of the Great American Beer Festival and expanded distribution to 17 western states.

• Alaskan Icy Bay IPA Alaskan Icy Bay IPA is made from glacier-fed water and a blend of Cascade, Bravo, Calypso, Summit and Apollo hops and premium two-row pale and specialty malts.


• Alaskan SMaSH Galaxy DIPA SMaSH stands for Single Malt and Single Hop and in this beer we have exclusively used Australian Galaxy hops.


• Alaskan Smoked Porter Known as rauchbier in Germany, smoke-fl avored beers were virtually unknown in the U.S. until Alaskan Smoked Porter was developed in 1988.

Founded in 1995 and now owned by Minnesota native Peter Zien, AleSmith Brewing Company is a San Diego based artisanal craft brewery that specializes in handcrafted ales inspired by the European classics. Deeply rooted in the amateur and craft brewing communities, AleSmith ales have continued to garner both national and international awards including being named THE #2 BREWERY IN THE WORLD BY RATEBEER.COM IN 2015.

• IPA It’s Pretty Awesome. AleSmith IPA showcases the versa-tility of American hops. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine and an abundance of fresh pine and tropical fruit notes followed by a crisp, resinous bitterness. The complex hop profi le is supported by a fi rm malt presence to create an incredibly fl avorful and well-balanced IPA.


• Robust Porter This delicious porter has hints of chocolate, smoke, roasted malt and hops. Medium bodied maltiness with just a hint of nutty malts.


• Double Red IPA AleSmith’s Double Red IPA offers up an intense hop aroma combined with a well-balanced, full bodied, caramel-malt sweetness. A variety of American hops burst with fl avors of pine and citrus complimenting the substantial malt backbone to deliver a full-fl avored ale with layers of complexity.


• Speedway Stout Speedway Stout’s ominous, pitch-black appearance has become a hallmark of this modern-day classic. Clown Shoes? Very long story, but to condense it a group of us submitted the name to the Beer Advocate contest that resulted in The Wrath of Pecant. Our submission didn’t crack the top 5. This burned me up inside. While driving one day the epiphany came: I could make my own Clown Shoes beer. In no way did I expect to create a brand, fi guring it would be one batch of beer for fun and then done. But folks are digging the brews and a group of us are having a great time. Clown Shoes has come to mean a lot to me on a lot of levels. Clowns are questionable but the shoes make me laugh. They remind me about humility and to fi nd humor in life. Our mission now is to produce beer without pretension while being free and a little crazy.

• Whammy Bar IPA Soulful tunes and good beer touch the best part of us here at Clown Shoes. Whammy Bar is brewed in a West Coast style, dry hopped with Galaxy, Ella, Mosaic and Columbus hops, then balanced with song from a cast of characters that composes our orchestral team.

Fitger’s Brewhouse was established in 1995. Our 10 barrel brewery produces 2,500 BBLs annually, and we make more then 80 different beers each year. We have 30 tap handles at our 5 Duluth locations: The Barrel Room, Burrito Union, The Brewhouse, Tycoons, and Endion Station Public House.

• Cumberland Blues IPA A grateful bond of blueberries and hops make this IPA a very approachable beer for both hop and fruit beer lovers.We started with an aggressively hopped American IPA, focusing on the Mosaic hop strain that adds heavy blueberry notes itself. We then conditioned the beer on 600 lbs. of blueberries.


• Blood Orange IPA Blood orange juice and an American IPA are an excellent match. We started with hops from the Pacifi c Northwest, including Jarrylo, Centennial, Amarillo, Mosaic and Citra. A light malt background fl avor and a good dose of blood orange juice round this beer out nicely. Refreshing, hoppy and citrusy.


• Patio Beer Light, crisp and refreshing, this is what we were shooting for when we designed this beer. A light Mexican lager with just a touch of lime zest. When you are on the patio on a hot day, this beer will provide the refreshment that you’re looking for.


• Duluth Pack Pale Ale Duluth Pack Pale Ale is a beer that we have created in as-sociation with the iconic Duluth business, Duluth Pack. Duluth Pack Pale has citrus and tropical fruit aromas. Flavors of grapefruit and mango from the hops mingle with a subtle malt backbone to create a distinct but drinkable beer.

Fulton’s motto is “Ordinary Guys Brewing Extraordinary Beer.” We started out in 2009 with four guys and a garage in the Fulton neighborhood of Minneapolis. By 2011, we built a brewery in the North Loop, and opened the Twin Cities’ fi rst taproom. In 2013, we began to build out a 51,000 sqft warehouse into our new production brewery. Now nearly all Fulton’s packaged beers fl ow from the NE brewery. The 20 bbl brewhouse and taproom remain in our North Loop location, where we brew many of our barrel-aged, collaboration, and limited-release beers. Fulton is now over 40 people strong, and we continue to embrace our founding philosophy by emphasizing beers that blend approachability and complexity.

• Maitrise Dry, Tart and Fruity Maitrise is an original blend of American & German wheat & barley malts, New Zealand’s Nelson Sauvin hops, and French saison yeast, brilliant with tropical fruit, balanced with a tart palate that fi nishes soft and dry.


• 300 This West Coast IPA was so well received we had to make it available year-round. It’s built on a base of Pilsner malt and heavily hopped with Mosaic, one of our favorite — and unfortunately nearly impossible to procure — hop varieties.


• Tanager A COMPLEX IPA WITH FLAVORS OF TANGERINE, MANGO, PINEAPPLE AND A SUBTLE OAK CHARACTER.Typically our beers undergo primary fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel fermentors. This beer was fermented in oak red wine barrels and the temperature wan’t regulated allowing the yeast to produce more esters & fruity fl avors.


• The Lonely Blonde The Lonely Blonde is a fragrance of German noble hops, and slips a touch of white wheat between American pale and crystal malts for a smooth body, fair complexion, and a pleasantly lacy white head. • Wooden Soul #7: Wood-aged Red Ale This red ale was aged nearly 22 months in red wine barrels, with a portion aged in Rum King barrels, and fermented an additional three months with whole rasp-berries and red tart cherries. The result is an expressive sour beer bursting with fresh, complex fruit fl avor.


• Wooden Soul: Stone Fruit Heliotropic The fi rst release from our Wooden Soul series is a dry, tart, lightly acidic and well balanced Brett Saison aged in white wine barrels. Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub opened in September 2012 with much anticipation. A neighborhood, crowd-funded, investment model put this brewpub on the national scene. This was due to the offer of free beer for life, in return for a $1000 investment. Three years later, Northbound is an award-winning brewpub and operates in its humble space with several nods from the City Pages Best Of issues, USA Today’s Top 20 Brewpubs’ and a Silver Medal from the World Beer Cup, as well as being featured on an episode of Beer Geeks’ and most recently the Piggin Out episode of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.Unlike most brewery taprooms, Northbound is a bonafi de full-service brewpub with a restaurant and full bar that includes a great whiskey selection.

• Unforgiven Amber Ale Rich in fl avor and mildly sweet, this amber ale is dry-hopped in the conditioning tank to add a subtle herbal nose. The robust caramel color and fl avor is complemented with a frothy head that leaves a thick lacing on the glass. A classic session ale, great with food.


• Scenic Pale Ale A refreshingly light pale ale, Scenic is smooth and drinkable. Copious amounts of Citra and Mosaic hops lend aromatics of grapefruit, apricot, and tropical fruit, with minimal bitterness and a slightly spicy fi nish.

Sprecher Brewing Co. was founded in 1985 by RANDAL SPRECHER, formerly a brewing supervisor at Pabst Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. From 1985 to 1994, the brewery was located at 730 W. Oregon Street in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point area. Through the fi rst ten years the company grew steadily as more and more people found out about Sprecher’s high quality beers and sodas. Finally, the company had outgrown its original facility and began looking for a new location to continue its growth.

In 1994, Sprecher purchased its current building, located at 701 W. Glendale Ave., a former elevator car factory. The new, larger brewery enabled the company to continue growing, and allowed more people to enjoy all of Sprecher’s fi ne products.

The only brewery on the “westside” in St Paul, since Yeorg’s brewery which closed in 1952. Wabasha Brewing Company is located at 429 Wabasha St S, with a new taproom opening in August of this year. We create high quality and approachable craft beers, with six different styles always on tap in our taproom. Just minutes from the Wabasha caves, it’s a great stop for a day of exploring the westside.

• Westside popper Jalapeno cream ale. An easy drinking, cream style ale. Light in color with a light to medium body. Jalapeno aromas fi nishing with a nice light smokiness and a touch of heat.


• Red Desert IPA Brewers grains and specialty grain give this beer a reddish color, nice malt backbone and great balance. The cascade and simcoe hops offer a big hop front and a smooth fi nish, with hints of orange peel and citrus.


• Hail summer ale Easy-drinking and refreshing. With low IBUs this is about as light as we get. The German hops are noticeable and ale yeast gives a slight fruitiness. Well-balanced American malts leave a clean and refreshing fi nish.


• Dbl Implosion IPA Light amber in color this heavy hitter has a hoppier, slightly more bitter fi nish than the regular Implosion IPA. The citrus fl avor profi le compliments the medium body and a malt fi nish.
