Road precautions Hot spring etiquette Lake Motosu Slow down and pay attention when riding through tunnels. Visibility is poor, the roads are narrow and the sound of the traffic can be very loud. Take frequent breaks while riding down mountain roads. Be careful of oncoming traffic on bends and corners. Road conditions change depending on the season. Prepare accordingly. The actual spot from where celebrated photographer Koyo Okada took the image of Mt. Fuji depicted on the 1,000-yen note. The observation deck is within easy walking distance of Koan campsite, hostel and restaurant. Canoeing on the lake and “shinrin yoku,” or forest bathing, are two of many reasons to spend the night at this lakeside campsite. There are lots of trees for tent shade and to string your hammock to. On a clear evening, the star-filled sky is exquisite. The center has everything you need for an exhilarating day at Lake Motosu. Services include mountain bike, snorkeling gear and canoe rental and lessons in windsurfing and SUP (stand up paddleboarding). This is Yamanashi, so kids are more than welcome. Never apply the front brake only. Always use both front and back brakes. For your own safety, keep the bike lights on at all times. Switch the bike computer on before mounting the bike. The computer will register an error if turned on while the bike is in motion. Consider your surroundings and park the bicycle where it will not cause an obstruction Be sure to lock the bike to prevent it being stolen.
