Ichigo ichie literally means “once-in-a-lifetime chance” but is used
to encourage us to treasure every interaction, even with family
members and friends that we meet every day. If we exchange words
with someone, then we should value that moment as ichigo ichie.

Riding precautions
Parking precautions
Please take the followingprecautions when riding an e-bike.
Road precautions・ Slow down and pay attention when riding through tunnels. Visibility is poor, the roads are narrow and the sound of the traffic can be very loud.
・ Take frequent breaks while riding down mountain roads.
・ Be careful of oncoming traffic on bends and corners.
・ Road conditions change depending on the season. Prepare accordingly.
・Never apply the front brake only. Always use both front and back brakes.
・For your own safety, keep the bike lights on at all times.
・Switch the bike computer on before mounting the bike. The computer will register an error if turned on while the bike is in motion.
・Consider your surroundings and park the bicycle where it will not cause an obstruction
・Be sure to lock the bike to prevent it being stolen.
It was once forbidden for women
to enter the Mt. Shichimen area.
This ban was lifted after Tokugawa
Ieyasu's concubine Omannokata
was so awestruck by the beauty of
Shiraito Waterfall that she began
to pray there, opening the way for
other women to follow.
Keishin-in, a large temple on
the summit of Mt. Shichimen,
enshrines Daimyojin, the god
who swore to protect Mt. Minobu
and devotees of the Lotus
Sutra. The monks here offer an
easy-to-understand explanation
of the history of Mt. Shichimen
and the inner temple
The approach to the summit from
the Hagoromo area is a pilgrim
trail along steep mountain paths.
It takes four to five hours from
the trailhead to the summit of
Mt. Shichimen. The lush nature
and beauty of Mt. Shichimen
make the hike more than worth it.
The trail is marked at 50 points,
with Keishin-in temple being the
fiftieth. Stop and rest at one of
four mountain hermitages along
the way.
Surrounded by high mountains, deep valleys and magnificent
forests, Akasawashuku is a village located on the pilgrim trail that
connects Mt. Minobu, the center of Nichiren Shu Buddhism, with
the sacred mountain of Shichimenzan
