    Instruction for AuthorsThe Department

    NIT Surathkal

The department has its credit of all necessary infra-structures more than mandated through the course syl-labi. The department offers multiple electives to meet student aspirations and encourages technical develop-ment through interactive smart class room discussions on beyond syllabus topics. Final year student projects are of industry standard and are generally focused on contemporary technology.

The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) formerly known as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC), is a public engineering college at Su-rathkal, about 20 kilometres north of Mangalore city. It was founded in 1960 as KREC while today, it is one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology in India and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance. It hashas a suburban campus, in close proximity to the Ara-bian Sea.NITK Surathkal offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Engineering, Science and Man-agement. The institute has 14 departments and 11 sup-port centres with about 200 faculty members, 300 sup-port staff, 5,500 students and 15,500 alumni worldwidEstablished in the year 1960, the Department of Me-chanical Engineering traversed the path of knowledge dissemination and generation as well as delivering over 3500 Mechanical Engineering graduates to the Nation. Over these 53 glorious years, it has carved a niche for itself in the key areas of teaching, research, consul-tancy, administration and community services

Toc H Institute of Science & Technology (TIST), Arak-kunnam, Ernakulam - venue of the conference - is one of the renowned engineering institutions in India, with distinct thrust in research and development activities. Its mechanical department is rated one of the best in CUSAT with best results and other achievements. Situ-ated at a distance of about 30 km from Kochi in a picturesque campus, the college offers B. Tech degree pro-grammes in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, In-formation Technology and Safety & Fire Engineering. TIST also offers post graduate programmes in Business Administration, VLSI & Embedded Systems, Wireless Technology, Data Security, Thermal Engineering, Con-struction Engineering & Management, Power Electron-ics and Network Computing.

The Mechanical Engineering Department established in 2006 is located in a land mark building named Visvesva-raya Block. Five batches of students have passed out of the institution and joined in various core industries such as Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Armed Force, Larson & Tubro, etc. and some are progressing post graduate programmes in prestigious institutions. Aca-demic programmes leading to B.Tech degree in Me-chanical Engineering and M.Tech degree in Thermal En-gineering are currently offered by the department.

The Interational Conference on Emerging Trends in Mechanical Engineering ICETME 15 is planned to be an internationally identifiable mega event aimed at forg-ing a cohesive environment among academia, re-searchers, industrialists, entrepreneurs and profes-sionals with focus on green and sustainable mechani-cal engineering applications

OriginalOriginal research articles broadly within the scope of the conference sessions, written in English language, are solicited. Paper submission process involves two stages: Stage I:- Abstract Submission and Stage II:- Full Paper Submission. Efforts are being made to publish selected papers from this conference to an International Jounal. Best Paper awards will also be gigiven during the conference.

Guidelines for preparation and online submission of ab-stract & full paper are given in the conference website.

The overall themes of the conference are classified into sessions, which will be managed by session-chairs as follows

    Sessions Session Chair
