the very most out of your holiday in Ibiza.
Ok, first up, the parties! Theres the low down on all Rocks gigs
and artists playing across 16 magical weeks as well as listings for
our Friday W.A.R! events and weve enlisted W.A.R! booker Jordan
Hallpike to give his insiders guide to the biggest and best club
nights happening elsewhere on the island. If you fancy starting the
party early and taking a trip on the high seas, look inside for
details of how to book your place on the Ibiza Rocks the Boat
pre-parties and the brand new W.A.R! Ship with Doorly &
Friends. Theres some additional island tips from the Rocks DJs as
well as info on our shops and our Ibiza Rocks Bar & Diners if
you fancy checking them out on your travels. If thats not enough to

acts as diverse as Chase & Status, Nile Rodgers, Ellie Goulding

A HISTORY OF ROCKSIbiza Rocks launched and Maximo Park made
history as the first band to play with Faithless, Goldfrapp, Kaiser
Chiefs, Mylo, The Kooks and Zane Lowe also playing at the home in
the back room of Manumission at Privilege before Babyshambles
headlined the Closing Party at the first outdoor gig at Bar M (now
Ibiza Rocks Bar & Diner).
Ibiza Rocks set up home at Bar M and fans got to see huge bands
like Kasabian, We Are Scientists, The Streets, The Klaxons, Editors
and The Cribs in an intimate, open-air venue by the beachbliss.
Arctic Monkeys, The View, LCD Soundsystem, Kasabian, Mark
Ronson, The Enemy and Soulwax all played Bar M whilst We Are
Scientists played at Pikes Hotel, which, years later, was
refurbished and reopened as Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes Hotel.
Ibiza Rocks Hotel opened with a brilliant gig from The Enemy
plus DJs Rob da Bank & Zane Lowe. Now the permanent home of the
gigs, other top acts included Dizzee Rascal, Pendulum, The
Courteeners, The Wombats, The Zutons and The Streets.
The Ting Tings kicked off an amazing 14 weeks of gigs, with
Calvin Harris, Friendly Fires, The Kooks, Vampire Weekend and MGMT
playing, before The Klaxons brought Ibiza Rocks to an incredible
climax.
Mallorca Rocks Hotel opened. The Kooks, Bombay Bicycle Club and
Zane Lowe played the first ever gig and a top line-up including
Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal and Pendulum followed. Ibiza Rocks
celebrated its 5th birthday with The Prodigy and Florence + the
Machine, Ian Brown, Biffy Clyro and ska icons The Specials rocked
Ibiza.
Biffy Clyro, Professor Green, Friendly Fires, Tinie Tempah,
Fatboy Slim, The Vaccines, Mark Ronson, Zane Lowe, Plan B, Chase
& Status and Magnetic Man played both islands. The legendary
Madness sent Ibiza
wild and The View smashed it at the Mallorca Rocks Closing
Party.NEW: Rocks the Boat pre-parties launched on the high seas.
Ibiza Rocks took over Pikes Hotel revamped and renamed Ibiza Rocks
House at Pikes. Ibiza Rocks Hostel opened.
Rocks is bigger than ever and opens with Ed Sheeran, closes with
Two Door Cinema Club, celebrates Ibizas 7th Birthday and Mallorcas
3rd with Kasabian and brings New Order to play in Ibiza for the
first time. Maverick Sabre, Labrinth, Kaiser Chiefs, The
Maccabbees, Plan B, Ben Howard, Chase & Status, Paolo Nutini,
Tinie Tempah, Happy Mondays, Example and Bloc Party all play and
its one seriously HOT summer.
NEW: W.A.R! launches, with Mark Ronson & Zane Lowe plus
Disclosure, Rudimental, Magnetic Man and many more masters of
electronic music. The new Ibiza Rocks Diner opens in Playa den
Bossa and Mallorca Rocks Apartments open.
Rocks opens with Jake Bugg and welcomes Rizzle Kicks, The
Vaccines, Bastille, Professor Green, Tinie Tempah, Beady Eye, Biffy
Clyro, Chase and Status, AlunaGeorge, Example, Ellie Goulding,
Dizzee Rascal, CHIC feat. Nile Rodgers, Franz Ferdinand, The
Courteeners and Foals into the mix.
W.A.R! is back with a bang. Example + DJ Wire are playing an
exclusive W.A.R! residency and big names like TNGHT, Katy B, So
Solid Crew, Mark Ronson & Zane Lowe, Baauer, Bondax, Redlight,
Mistajam & Rudimental will all appear.
NEW: W.A.R! Ship with Doorly and friends is the brand new
pre-party every Friday in Ibiza. Ibiza Rocks unveils a brand new

8TH BIRTHDAY WITH BEADY EYE, ZANELOWE & TEMPLES 17TH JULY
Its our 8th birthday and what better way to celebrate than with
Liam Gallagher and his band Beady Eye. This man is a one-off, an
icon for the Rocks generation, a frontman like no other and its
going to be one hell of a party with Beady Eye belting out past,
present and future hits.Joining in will be Rocks Music Director,
friend and master of new music, Zane Lowe, as well as hot newcomers
Temples to add a touch of psychedelia to whats going to be a
special night under the Balearic stars.
BIFFY CLYRO 24TH JULY We love these guys and weve been on quite
a journey together. They first played our Opening Party in 2010 and
then our 6th Birthday in 2011 and now, as one of the most in-demand
festival headliners on the planet, theyre back to rock Ibiza to its
core once more. Mon the Biff!
CHASE & STATUS 31ST JULY This incredible duo played 36
festivals across the world last year and were the 2nd biggest
selling band in the UK in 2011. They are hugely in demand
and the Rocks crowd will get a taster of their forthcoming 3rd

CHIC FT. NILE RODGERS 4TH SEPTEMBER A very special live show
from one of the most influential music icons of the past 40 years.
Nile Rodgers has devoted a lifetime to making people dance. CHIC
were responsible for classic club tracks that we all still get down
to today. Think Le Freak, I Want Your Love, Everybody Dance and
Good Times. In addition he has produced some of the worlds biggest
hits for dance goddess Donna Summer, and hes just given his
unmistakable magic to Daft Punks Get Lucky the soundtrack to summer
2013. Good times, these are the good times- guaranteed.
FRANZ FERDINAND & ZANE LOWE 11TH SEPTEMBER Franz played a
huge influence on us when we started Ibiza Rocks. They were making
music for rock kids who wanted to dance and dance kids who wanted
to rock and in many ways they are the perfect Rocks band. Fantastic

Formerly known as Bar M, this beachside venue was home to some
of Ibiza Rocks most famous gigs including Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian
and Mark Ronson. Re-named and fully re-furbished in 2011 The Ibiza
Rocks Bar sits as the ultimate pre-club venue in San Antonio
hosting the islands biggest nights and guest appearances from some

AZ & TOR 28 JUNProducer and singer-songwriter duo from the
thriving Bristol music scene joining the dots between the UK
undergrounds current predilection for house and bass. House legend
Kerri Chandler recently snapped them up for his newly minted
MadTech Records. Latest release Resend is a soulful gooey centred
house missile. Clearly drawing on influences from Hip Hop to Bass,
from Soul to House Az&Tor are everything that is great about
the current state of the UK underground electronic music scene.
BAAUER 07 JUNBrooklyn-based producer Baauer made headlines when
track Harlem Shake became the first viral sensation to debut on top
of the Billboard charts thanks to mass YouTube plays. His official
debut came in early 2012 when his bass-heavy party track Dum Dum
was released by LuckyMe on a one-sided, laser-etched 12. Diplos Mad
Decent label signed him up and released Harlem Shake that same
year. In February 2012, as Baauer was announcing his debut EP for
Mad Decent, and collaborating with hip-hop producer Just Blaze,
Billboard added YouTube-streaming data to the mix of sales and
radio plays and Harlem Shake debuted at No.1 the next week.

JAGUAR SKILLS 16 AUGThe rise and rise of Jaguar Skills has been
well documented. For the last 15 years Jag has remained true to his
school and kept a mysterious edge to his character; with details of
his real name, age and home town left unconfirmed. After a sell out
tour of the O2 Academy venues across the UK, Jag is ready to turn
up the heat for his debut performance at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel
alongside Rob da Bank and the Bestival crew this Summer.
Undoubtedly the king of Mash-ups, expect a genre defying aural
assault of every tempo; from house and hip hop, to drum n bass, and
everything in-between.
KATY B 9 AUGKatys hit-laden debut album On a Mission was
heralded as a modern dance masterpiece and was nominated for the
2011 Mercury Prize. Last years Danger EP sounded every bit as epic,
boasting a huge cast of collaborators including Jacques Greene,
Diplo, Geeneus and Zinc as well as vocal features from Jessie Ware,

MAK & PASTEMAN 12 JUL/2 AUGTaking ground across the clubs
and soundsystems of Leeds, bass-duo Mak & Pasteman have
garnered serious respect throughout clubland. Releasing across
labels including Shifting Peaks, Senseless Records and Sounds of
Sumo, theyve laid down the foundations for a future sound bringing
classic bass traits to the mix with the grit and pace of the modern
dance floor. With material forthcoming on Redlights Lobster Boy
imprint, stay close to these two the future night soundtrack
belongs to Mak & Pasteman.
MARK RONSON 20 SEPInternationally renowned music producer / DJ
Mark Ronson has been playing Ibiza Rocks for years. We knew wed
come across a little piece of magic when he teamed up with Zane
Lowe for a special double header of a set in 2011. The master DJ
duo took things up another level as they teamed up for W.A.R! when
it launched last year and they are coming together for one night
only for the hugely anticipated W.A.R! closing party on 20th
September.
MELE 23 AUGMel is a beatmaker and DJ carving a bass music niche
of his own. Combining his particular strain of euphoric dance music
with sounds from the UK underground and hip hop from across the
Atlantic, he has garnered radio play by some of the countries
key players: Annie Mac, Mista Jam, Zane Lowe, Nick Grimshaw and
Toddla T. Loved by ravers the world over and on rotation with
cutting edge selectors Rustie, Hudson Mohawke and Shy FX to name
but a few.
MISTAJAM 28 JUNBBC Radio 1 and 1Xtras Mistajam is the man widely
praised for bridging the gap between the mainstream and specialist
worlds of electronic music. With his 1Xtra show known as the key to
the underground we have no doubts he will be bringing only the
freshest sounds in UK Bass and House music to the open-air,
poolside stage at Rocks this summer.
MS DYNAMITE 28 JUNMs Dynamite will be bringing fresh material as
well as all the huge hits that made her one of the most
influential, successful and award winning British solo artists of
the last decade. Now collaborating with stars like Labrinth and
Katy B and with an album lined up for next year, Ms Dynamite is
back by popular demand following her electric live sets at W.A.R!
last year.
ONEMAN 21 JUN/06 SEPThere are DJs that are heavily tied to
styles, people who go on to become figures linked with a certain
sound or a particular approach to mixing; and then there are DJs
DJs a different breed of people who manage to make the whole
process of blending records from different genres look (and sound)
seamless. Whether through his famed hip hop & R&B sets for
The Boiler Room, the now legendary back to back sets with
Jackmaster or opening for dance titans such as SBTRKT and Major
Lazer, Oneman has that rare ability to destroy any party and be
unique whilst doing so.
P MONEY 09 SEPKnown for his fast, skippy, and seamless lyrical
flow, P Money first began creating hype around Londons pirate radio
stations. Since then hes worked with a whos who of Uk Hip Hop
artists, featuried on the now cult classic grime track Pow by
Lethal B, and providing the lyrics to Magnetic Mans eponymous track
anthematic. King P joins the Rinse August party alongside Katy B,
Zinc and Doorly.
REDLIGHT 21 JUNRedlight is a Bristol raised, London based artist
that hovers between house, bass and beyond. As well as having huge
commercial success with the massive Get Out Of My Head and Lost in
Your Love in 2012, Hugh Pescod has managed to interweave the ethos
of the underground and seamlessly tie that in with mainstream
success.
ROB DA BANK 16 AUGRadio 1 DJ supreme, Bestival founder and
curator as well as a simply brilliant DJ, Rob has hit the decks at
Ibiza Rocks many times over the years playing at the Ibiza Rocks
Hotel first ever show in 2008 as well as with The

Prodigy at our 5th birthday in 2010. We cant wait to have him
back on stage this summer. Rob brings his infamous Bestival brand
to the island for the first time in years this August in Ibiza. We
set sail on a very special HMS Bestival v W.A.R! Ship voyage during
the day before bringing it back to the Ibiza Rocks Hotel for a epic
festival fuelled W.A.R v Bestival party alongside Jaguar Skills and
Shy Fx.
RUDIMENTAL 30 AUGSongwriters and producers Piers Agget, Kesi
Dryden and Amir Amor, together with DJ Locksmith are the four men
who draw on their eclectic musical backgrounds and sense of unity
to keep their finger firmly on the pulse of dance music. With fans
like The XX, Zane Lowe and working recently with the likes of Angel
Haze, Alex Clare and Ella Eyre on their second number 1 smash
Waiting All Night, these guys are in huge demand. No strangers to
Rocks after their massive shows last year on the back of single of
the summer Feel the Love we cant wait to welcome them back
alongside up and coming label mates Gorgon City.
SCRUFFIZER 30 AUGWest London MC and producer Scrufizzer has been
steadily bubbling up as one of the UK urban undergrounds most
talked about new talents, his masterful flow and versatile fusion
of production styles singling him out as one of the games hottest
spitters, as well as winning over supporters ranging from Zane Lowe
and Annie Mac to Dizzee Rascal, Ed Sheeran and Angel Haze.
SHADOW CHILD 28 JUNUK based Shadow Child made his debut via the
mighty Dirtybird early in 2012, mostly thanks to the EPs lead track
String Thing dominating Eats Everything and Claude Vonstrokes DJ
sets, the World over. This new alias for one of House musics
already known names...the Shadow Child is no more a side-Project,
its here to stay.
SHY FX 16 AUGShy FX crashed the British pop charts in mid-1994
with Original Nuttah, one of the most infectious Ragga-Jungle
anthems of all time and quickly became one of Jungles most
respected producers. Born in London, Andre Williams founded the
Digital Soundboy label in 2005, releasing tracks and compilations
with the likes of Visionary, Benny Page, Breakage and B.Traits.
After debuting at W.A.R! last Summer alongside MistaJam and Skream
and putting on one of the shows of the Summer with his trusted MC
Stamina, we just had to get him back.
SKEPTA 06 SEPJoseph Junior Adenuga, aka Boy Better Knows Skepta,
has always managed to balance being part of a scene with following
his own path. Like so many others, the North London MC and producer
went from cutting his teeth on pirate radio and in grime raves into
a mainstream
career with unstoppable momentum, always doing things his own
way. Skepta hyped the W.A.R! crowd last Summer and is back
alongside legends So Solid Crew for a very special Rinse takeover
event.
SO SOLID CREW 06 SEPHaving first captured the headlines and the
airwaves in 2001 with massive tracks 21 Seconds and Oh No the UKs
most loved grime collective recently announced a comeback show at
Londons IndigO2 which sold out in record time. Back with original
members and their biggest hits plus new material, So Solid Crew
will bring their unique blend of crossover garage and hip-hop to
Ibiza for the first time this summer.
TNGHT 14 JUNThis insanely talented duo are first up to headline
the W.A.R! X Rinse Takeover. Producers Hudson Mohawke (Glasgow) and
Lunice (Canada) are pretty much redefining the state of new pop,
dance music and hip hop into a wholly fresh fusion. Their tracks
Higher Ground and Buggn exploded, Kanye West is one of their
biggest fans and even signed Mohawke to his own GOOD Music label.
Known to shatter glass when they play, were expecting an extra
electric set for their Ibiza debut.
TOYBOY & ROBIN 26 JULToyboy & Robin bridge a gap in
music that seems incredibly unique. Descriptions that place them on
the edges of house music mixed with current forms of the developing
bass scene are only a mere start.Their strong sense of pop musics
formula stretches the typical catchy chorus over the length of an
entire track. What results are sweet electronic rhythms
complimented by even sweeter edits and alterations to blissful
R&B vocal lines, these guys are ones to watch this Summer for
sure!
ZANE LOWE 07 JUN / 20 SEPRadio 1s master of new music, superstar
DJ and Music Director for Ibiza Rocks. Together with Mark Ronson,
Zane was a huge driving force behind the launch of W.A.R! last year
and made it one of the must attend new nights on the island. Hes
been playing Rocks since it started in 2005 and hes kicking off the
whole 2013 season at the opening party in June and will be back for
the closing party to end another sun-soaked, electric summer. A key
part of the Rocks family we cant wait to have him back.
ZINC 09 AUGDJ Zinc is a true pioneer of the UK dance music
scene, having been involved as a listener, producer and DJ since
falling for rave, acid house and early jungle as a teenager. His
recent productions are a distinctly UK-flavoured hybrid he calls
Crack House. Zincs DJ sets are hinged around a bass-heavy house
backbone that perfectly showcase his electronic music diversity. We
welcome Zinc back to the W.A.R! Stage.

boasting one of the most interesting and eclectic line-ups.
Together brings bass heavyweights Major Lazer, Chase & Status
and Magnetic Man to the club every Tuesday, plus up and coming UK
talent like Ben Pearce and Bondax. The hugely popular Cream returns
to Amnesia with Calvin Harris and Laidback Luke heading up the
Mixmag Terrace plus superstar main room residencies from Above and
Beyond Paul Van Dyk. If its a deeper, more minimal side of
electronic music that youre after, then check out Sven Vaths
Cocoon, where Ricardo Villalobos, Loco Dice, Carl Craig and a host
of other techno heavyweights join him every Monday night.
DC10Located at the end of the airport runway DC10 re-opened for
a new era in 2010 with the likes of Kerri Chandler, Tania Vulcano
Ricardo Villalobos and now hosts two weekly residencies - the
flagship event Circo Loco continuing Mondays with the worlds finest
underground DJs and producers, while Jamie Jones and his Hot
Creations Paradise crew take on Wednesdays.
EDENHome to Judge Jules Judgement parties, Kisstory and a new
night from Ferry Corsten Eden is eternally popular with clubbers
due to its location right in the heart of San Antonio.
ES PARADISAnother central San Antonio landmark, the glass
pyramid that is Es Paradis hosts our official Ibiza Rocks aftershow
party every Wednesday free entry for all Ibiza Rocks gig goers! I
head to the Ibiza Rocks bar first for a quick Doorly Daiquiri
before our residents Ste-V-Something and Colin Peters hit the decks
at Es Paradis. Saturdays are all about global house and disco brand
Hed Kandi, returning for their 11th year.
GALA NIGHTSTucked away on the green hillsides just on the
outskirts of San Antonio, Gala Nights is home of The Zoo Project.
Dancing in the Seal pit this summer youre likely to witness some of
2013s most exciting house and techno DJs, with George Fitzgerald,
Maribou State, Will Saul and Hunee all making their Gala Nights
debuts. Fully embrace the animal theme and head down to the Ibiza
Rocks Pool area for full face and body painting throughout the
day.
PACHAThe world famous Pacha nightclub is an Ibiza institution.
This year has seen big changes to programming with Tiesto, Luciano,
Defected and Erick Morillo being replaced by nights headlined by
Solomun, Guy Gerber and Fritz Kalkbrenner. My pick has to be
Solomuns +1 concept, which sees Solomun, plus one other guest play
all night long. Expect sets from Tensnake, Dennis Ferrer and
Ame.

BOMBABrand new club Bomba is showcasing Ibiza veterans like
Erick Morillo, Lucianos Vagabundos crew, and playing host to the
global club brand Defected on Saturdays with W.A.R favourites
Skream and Disclosure both taking spots on the line-up. With a
bespoke Pioneer soundsystem at its heart Bomba looks like making a
big impact in its first Summer already.
PRIVILEGEOfficially the biggest club in the world, this aircraft
hanger-sized venue includes a swimming pool, huge stage, al fresco
gardens, roof top chill out area and new for 2013 a 2000 capacity
Funktion one powered back room called the Vista Club. Saturdays are
looking strong this year, with Barcelona based party ELRow inviting
Laurent Garnier and Adam Beyer to the venue, Gladiators is new to
Thursdays with 2manyDJs and Sneak on the lineup, while the ever
outrageous SupermartXE is back for Fridays. My pick however has to
be Tuesdays with the Legendary German label Get Physical!
SANKEYSNow established within the fabric of Ibiza clubbing
culture, this year Sankeys brings its most exciting programming yet
to the island, including Diynamic Neons Nights with Solomun on

multi-roomed superclub that is Space! Sundays start with the We
Love pool party at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel before I head to Playa del
Bossa for one of my favourite nights on the island, We Love at
Space. This years stellar line-up includes Hot Chip, Simian Mobile
Disco, Dusky and electronica legends Underworld. Ritche Hawtin
returns to Thursday after a all-conquering debut season with his
ENTER concept while the legend that is Carl Cox continues with his
Tuesday residency. If youre at Carl Cox on a Tuesday be sure to
head to El Salon for Future Disco, a modern blend of sun drenched
Disco and House music. Im a huge fan!
USHUAIAAn outdoor clubbing arena surrounded by plush white hotel
suites, Ushuaia Beach Club has become a daytime clubbing mecca.
This year programming is split between the Ushuaia Club, and the
new Ushuaia Tower. A balance of both underground and commercial
sounds sees a line-up that includes David Guetta, Axwell, Steve
Angello, Luciano, Pete Tong, Steve Lawler and a shed load of
others. My pick has to be Sasha on a Sunday, party till midnight
then head over the road to Space for We Love!
