If anyone residing In the District andIn the adjacent counties of Maryland andVirginia however failed to witness thepageant it was not for want of streetcar facilities to place them within view ofthe scenes The management of the dif-ferent local street railway companies putforth ReIr best efforts to accomodate thegreat rush of travel and although thetime was limited by police regulations-it is safe to say that everyone who desired was given ample opportunity to takeadvantage of transportation offered

The police rules requiring the cessationof street car traflic along PennsylvaniaAvenue between Washington Circle goingeast from 1000 a in and from Thirdstreet going west after 930 a m wereobserved rigidly by the Capital TractionCompany The regulations also prohibitedthe running of cars on the Fourteenthstreet branch of the line after 1000 a min order to avoid any Interference withthe procession of Fifteenth St and NewYork Avenue Cars were likewise pro-hibited tram being run from the Balti-more and Ohio Railway going south onFirst street to Pennsylvania Avenue after L30 a m
