I-Land: Texan, Open 24 Hours

DESCRIPTION

This is the first issue of an ongoing comic book. The comic is called I-Land and is about the exploits of immortals who walk the earth. The immortals are Death, Night, Evil, Time, and Lust...at least they are the last few who show up to the dingy Texan in the bad part of town. Here we meet Thanos (Death) and his best friend Caine (Cursed) of the biblical tale Caine and Abel. We also meet a demon, Azheal who was once the angel of love but now reigns as the demon of lust. We also meet the Stillborn sisters and Berlin Poe, beings too hard to describe so briefly. Enjoy!

Previous Efforts For I-LandAs you can see here, the first I-Land was very, very rough. It was drawn, inked and lettered by hand in a coffee shop in my hometown of Midland MI, which is where the comic gains it’s name. This was made over five years ago and is nearly unreadable. However the basic layout of this first page was preserved in the second and thrid additions. The bottom panel has an entire conversation, meant to be used as more of a texture then a plot device. This dialoge was incorperated in the second and third attemps.

The second try was indeed published, though I did so out of my own pocket. There are many differences between the second and first attempt. Cleaner more readable dialogue and much better illustrations, though it was still rough. The last and third version in-cludes the sex scene that was taken out of the second version.

Lil Angst was published in the Third Eye Magazine out of Traverse City Michigan, by an old pal of mine Jason Milo Glover. It was a cute strip using the main characters from the book. It lasted two strips before the rag packed up and moved to Portland. I hope to reignite this concept for promotion.
