I just want to start off by saying I am so excited about what we have going on at Marietta First Baptist

Church! I am humbled to be able to be a part of such a great church, but I am also blessed to be able to see

God work in our church family. God called my family to Marietta First Baptist Church on June 1, 2009 as the

full-time student pastor. I can honestly say that in the last 9 years I have been honored to serve alongside some

of the most amazing people I know. I have truly loved being a part of a church that not only believes in their

students, but that sees the need for them to grow in their faith. Therefore, I have not taken this change of role

to become senior pastor lightly. I want you to know that as I start this new role on June 1, 2018 that I am com-

mitted to seeking God’s guidance in everything I do. I am truly excited about the endless possibilities God has

given us as a church.

We are entering into summer and we have so much to be thankful for as a church. As we move into a

new chapter in our church's life I believe our new vision “Whatever It Takes: To Be United In Christ’s Love In

Our Faith, Our Family, and in Our Community” should help us move forward. Psalms 133:1 says “How good

and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!” Everything we do must be about the kingdom of

God and we have to do it together in unity. We are getting geared up for the” Game On” Vacation Bible

School and so many other ministries! We have mission teams that are preparing to go to New Orleans, Ken-

tucky, and Costa Rica this summer. We have community-wide Ignite Outreaches planned throughout the sum-

mer. There are so many amazing things that God has blessed us with and we must move forward together.

I want you to know that I love you as my church family and I am beyond humbled to know that God

has placed us together. In saying this I want us as a church to “Unite” in everything we do. Our goal is to point

a lost and dying world to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in everything we do! I challenge you to pray for our

church as we move forward and more than anything pray that we would be the vessels the Lord calls us to be.

“Whatever It Takes” to follow the Lord needs to be our individual prayer, our family’s prayer, and our prayer

for our community.

In Christ,

Dr. Brian L. Spearman

Access points or doors continue to be in the spotlight when a tragedy oc-curs in a school or other public place. Your safety team has worked hard with local law enforcement, fire officials and others in establishing a sys-tem to control our access points. The goal is to be open for members and visitors alike yet being able to maintain some type of control and attention to these entry and exit points. As a member you can help greatly by fol-lowing procedures and understanding. Locked doors and hallways have reasons behind them and are crucial to a bigger plan. Please observe these procedures and do not prop or otherwise circumvent procedures in place. With each of us working together we can have a safe, worshipful experi-ence each visit. Thanks for your prayers and understanding! His Servants, Jimmy & Rhonda

Change-what a powerful word yet one sometimes so difficult to apply in our lives. "How people change" is a great study and we invite you to come be part of this great study time. Each session is based on scriptures and we will explore God's word as we work through each step together. Change has-does-and will occur but lasting change comes only through a change on the inside with Jesus Christ as Lord. Please come join us and continue to share with others in need. His Servants, Jimmy & Rhonda

Please watch the bulletin and listen for announcements for the Sunday af-ternoon outings we will be beginning. I will try and announce prior but the weather is a big factor so it may the morning of for the afternoon out-reach. This is a great community outreach effort to folks that really work hard and ask for very little in return. In His Service, Jimmy & Rhonda
