The people of our land and the world over need to acknowledge that God has, in His power of creation, established exactly three institutions. From the beginning of the creation to the culmination of humanity in the eternal judgement which is to come, God has created the church, marriage, and civil government. Of the three, the church is timeless, she has always been the predestined plan of God for man’s salvation. Marriage and the family serve as the greatest example of God’s fulness and His perfect love displayed in the world. Before sides are chosen and lines drawn to even further separate us from one another, if we draw our eyes back to God’s word, and allow the lines of His guidance to steer our hearts, well would come the reminder of His authority, “both in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18). Every form of power, including and especially governments, belong to the eternal hand of our Lord and Savior (Colossians 1:16-18). Well do we know the names He would bear in prophecy (Isaiah 9:6), but the potential and power of those names is often forgotten which lead Him to an increase of His peace and government without end (Isaiah 9:7). Since all authority rests with our Lord, submitting to His rule and to His authority is our calling. Thus we are to submit to the “governing authorities” and to “every ordinance of God” (Romans 13:1-7; I Peter 2:13-17). Not to mention our calling to prayer for those who lead (I Timothy 2:1-4), and to surrender to God’s law and will before we select the will of man (Acts 4 and 5). Even our Lord called this distinction when pressed by those only interested in entrapping Him (Matthew 22:16-22). “I Hope You Know”

For whatever reason, our Lord chose the foolishness of preaching to make known the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ to the world (I Corinthians 1:18-25). To preach requires not the praise of man nor the preference of man, but the pleasure and pointing to God. The people of our land and the world over need to acknowledge that God has, in His power of creation, established exactly three institutions. From the beginning of the creation to the culmination of humanity in the eternal judgement which is to come, God has created the church, marriage, and civil government. WHAT A WONDERFUL NIGHT AT CAMP MERIBAH! We had a large crowd and a phenomenal time Sunday night for the Junior High Fireside. Our topic for the night came from I John as we looked at the difference in light and darkness. We also enjoyed some beautiful singing and thoughtful prayers. Thank you to Sara True and Case Martin for hosting with help from Ray & Shelda Qualls and Brett & Heather Martin. Also, thanks to Derek, Rachel, & Boone Newsom for joining us and for all they do to make Camp Meribah so great! MONTHLY BIBLE STUDIES HAVE RETURNED! Thanks to Matthew & Cissy Dotson and Derek & Rachel Newsom for hosting these monthly times to dig deeper in the Word. We have had a few months off while Keegan and Boone have gotten situated and are ready to welcome everyone into their homes. If you have not been accustomed to being a part of these times, begin next month as the second Monday nights are the time to gather! Plan now to attend! TIMOTHY AND TABITHA CLASSES RETURN this Wednesday… Our special classes for guys and girls is almost back! These are always such a fantastic time to focus on some topics and issues just for either gender. This year in the separate classes we will be looking at the various men and women of the Bible and the troubles, trials, and triumphs that many faced. Misty, Cissy, Rachael and Tabitha are back for the girls and Matthew, Derek, Gaylon and I will be leading the guys. These classes are for the Junior and Senior High. Invite your friends and don’t miss a single class! “...GOD IS LIGHT AND IN HIM IS NO DARKNESS AT ALL.” Most everyone I know does not like to venture into complete darkness. We need to have some light source, something to help us see through the unknown. God is light and Christ has come as a light into this world so that we do not have to abide in darkness, John 12:46. So why do we continue to sit in darkness, wander in darkness, and expect to thrive in darkness? It will never happen. We were not created to enjoy

darkness, but rather to be in the light and flourish there. We are also expected to be the light of the world and lead others to the source. Be a light, shine brightly to lead others, and always look to the light… Follow His path, -Craig
