We are deprive from knowledge we crave

We know nothing as we went to our grave

Until the Americans came to our land

And gave us the helping hand

They sent the Spaniards away

In the battle of manila bay

The give us knowledge we need

Little did we know it is out of greed?

We thought they will help us to be free

Slowly and unknowingly we are losing our identity

And wanting to have a foreign blood in veins

Killing us without any pain

We no longer consider them as foes

Even they are stepping into our toes

In their fake smiles we believe

To the wonderful thing that we receive

Little we did we know we are deceive

When will our eyes be open to the evils around?

When we will we truly rise from the ground

When the Spaniards came they thought we are barbarians due to we lack certain things to be considered as a civilize people, the Spaniard has their own standard what is civilize like having a city with stone houses , bridges, schools , town halls and etc. During that time Philippines doesn’t have that stuff? So the Spanish colony thought we need to help this savages and to become civilize or we must cure  their stupidity; but what will the Spaniards cure, even though the island of the Philippines doesn’t qualify to the standard Spanish way on being civilize but believe it or not the Philippines is already a civilized country.
