FAILURE CAUSES

The failure of a hydraulic pump to provide sufficient pressure the internal leakage or blockage of hydraulic valves can almost always be attributed to high levels of contamination within the system. Although hydraulic systems are fitted as standard with a filter system to remove contamination, design constraints mean that most hydraulic filters are unable to filter to the required decontamination standard because they must be able to allow high flow rates.
