• The information about the amounts and needs of such these substances can be very confusing
• Benefits and precautions associated with Vitamins and Supplements will be explained
• Individual needs and information about them will be explained
VITAMINS HERBAL SUPPLEMENTS
There are 13 Essential Vitamins needed to sustain the Body
Fat Soluble Vitamins-A,D, E &K
Water Soluble Vitamins-Pantholeic Acid, Folate, B-6 and B-12, Biotin, Riboflavin, Niacin, and Thiamine and Vitamin C (NIH, 2011).
• These are made from plants and can be used in different preparations and forms to treat a variety of issues
• Herbal supplements may be used by some people instead of traditional medicines
• Their effectiveness and usage is not proven(Weinrauch, 2005)

• Supplement and Vitamin Manufacturers are not regulated by the FDA
• The only time a supplement comes under scrutiny from the FDA is when a problem has occurred with it
• It is imperative to inform your primary care provider about all supplements and vitamins that you take, there can be serious contraindications (Higdon, 2003).
