Introduction
1.Understand the basics of Huyglas
2. Know the core products
3. Learned how Huyglas has upgraded
Huyglas is:
• Fiberglass Needlefelt
• Treated with silicone/PTFE
• Made for demanding high temperature filtration applications.
Where has Huyglas been used?
• Product collectors: Carbon Black, Cement Clinker, and TiO2
• Kilns: lime, cement, koalin, and asphalt.
• Smelters: lead and tin.
• Incinerators: medical, municipal, and chemical.
• Industrial boilers: stoker fired, pulverized coal, fluidized bed, and hogged fuel.

• Product selection is determined by individual application requirements. Further information is available upon request.
Where can Huyglas be used?
• High Temperature: 300-5250F, with excursions to 6000F
• Where the conditions risk chemical attack.

Huyglas Improvement
• Needled fibers must adhere to the woven support fabric
• Typical end-of-life is delamination of the felt from the support fabric
• Fiber abrasion by the cage creates the delamination
The DuraFlex coating improves:
• DuraFlex resists delamination by:
– Creating an abrasion resistant layer on the cage side of the fabric
– Increasing the bond strength between the felt fibers and the support fabric
• Providing longer bag life to the end user.
Conclusions:
The DuraFlex coating applied to Huyglas fabric
provides:
• Increased protection from abrasion.
• Stronger bonding of the batt fiber to scrim
• Ultimately, longer baglife.
