Huling Habilin
Original Filipino
English Translation
Habilin
Last Will
In the mids of darkness We can see an image
The corpse of our beloved As we escort him to his grave
As we mourn at night
His vision, we could sight That he often informed us
This is how he discussed:
“What I am fighting for
Is our country’s liberation Suffering from covetous
Exploitation and oppression
“If my body perish My vision will not die
Its spirit will live In you, it will survive”
In the mids of darkness
There’s a cry in whisper Cold voice of our beloved
Before his life ended
At night as we lament
He whispers his last will Right now if he could speak
This is what he would say:
“Brothers, sisters, parents comrades and friends
Wipe-out your tears Turn grief into courage
“If you want to give me an offering
Don’t drop the vision I’ve been fighting Fight for the freedom of our country
Fight for the freedom of our country”
