Preparing for university is one of the
most important things any student
has to do. Making sure you have the
academic and language skills you need
to succeed will make your transition to
university life a lot easier.
Your first day at University
From the day you start in the
International Study Centre, you
are a student of the University of
Huddersfield. You will study and learn
on campus, and have access to the
University facilities such as the library,
sports hall and Students Union.

International Study Centre we know
how to help you adjust to your new
environment and make the most of

Many of the students who study with
us are new to the UK. We monitor and
support each student to encourage
your development throughout your
time with us.
University-style teaching
The International Study Centre
introduces you to the style of
teaching that you will experience on
your degree. Taking part in tutorials,
seminar-style classes and larger group
lectures means youll be well prepared
once you progress to the University.
Direct progression to your
degree
Joining the International Study Centre
guarantees that you will receive aconditional offer of a degree place
at the University. On successful
completion of the course and having
met the required entry standards, you
will proceed directly to your preferred
degree programme.
English language training
If you require additional English
language training in order to bring
you up to required level for your ISC
academic programme, you can joinour English Language Preparation or
English for Pre-Masters programmes.

route: Recognised 3 year Higher
Education Institution award holders
in an appropriate subject area, or
recognised degree in a related field.
All other routes: Recognised higher/
advanced diploma in a related subject
area, or recognised degree in a related
field, or an Honours degree in any
subject.2
English language: IELTS 5.5 (minimum
of 5.5 in all components)

Scholarships
Self-funding international students
progressing from the International

considered for a 2,000 scholarship
