Tenerife is the perfect destination for a family break boasting a wealth of

attractions to keep all the family entertained. Here are some of the highlights:

- Splash out! Siam Park, a new Thai-themed water park offers an exotic and

exciting experience in the South of Tenerife. Splash around in a volcano,

swim along with alligators and surf the largest man made waves in the

world. Visitors can also enjoy a “siesta” while drifting along the longest

lazy river or snoozing on the 9,500 m2 beach

- A wild time: Talk to the animals at the world famous Loro Parque in

Puerto de la Cruz, home to the largest collection of parrots in the world as

well as killer whales, sharks, penguins, sea lions, dolphins, iguanas, tigers,

monkeys and many many more. Or head to Tenerife South and see an

exhibition of Falconry at the Parque las Aguilas in Arona

- Get up close with the dolphins: Take a boat trip from the south coast and

keep your eyes peeled for Pilot whales and Bottlenose dolphins in the

straits that separate Tenerife from its neighbour La Gomera. It’s sometimes

possible to see White Whales

- Ride with the camels: Take a camel ride at the Camello Centre at El Tanque

or a donkey or pony ride at the Oasis del Valle in the Orotava Valley

- Natural salt pools: Enjoy the natural salt water pools along the coastline

of Puerto de la Cruz – swim, sunbathe or just ‘people watch’ at the Costa

Martianez. For safe, calm swimming conditions head to the Lido at

Martianez beach

- An explosive day out: Appealing to all ages, a visit to the Parque Nacional

La Canadas del Teide is an absolute must. Fascinating volcanic rock

formations surround Mt Teide – the highest peak in Spain standing at

3,718 metres. The National Park was declared a natural heritage site by

UNESCO last year.

Family- friendly accommodation

Tenerife also boasts plenty of family-friendly accommodation, where adults

can enjoy some free time while the younger ones have fun and take part in

entertaining activities. The four-star Jardin Tropical Hotel, Costa Adeje, has just

opened 31 new family rooms, connected by one door and are designed for two

adults and two children. www.jardin-tropical.com

Iberostar Grand Hotel Anthelia in Costa Adeje has all facilities needed for a

fun and comfortable stay. The hotel has pools for all ages, entertainment

activities and room facilities that reach all family needs. www.iberostar.com

Gran Melia Palacio de Isora, in Guia de Isora, offers Family Concierge One

Bedroom Master Suites, specially designed to fulfill the highest expectations.

Master Suites include an en suite whirlpool bath, a private terrace with either

garden or ocean views, a living room with a sofa bed and a separate bathroom

with spa jet-shower. www.gran-melia-palacio-de-isora.com
