Established a fully functional institutional framework -2001. Currently boasts 51 member institutions comprising of universities, polytechnics, & research institutions
Realized connectivity for all universities in Kenya –August 2003
Piloted and tested collaboration model for registry services, content delivery for teaching between member institutions faculty, and cooperation in research
Milestones/Achievements
Milestones cont.Trained over 55 technical support staff for
the institutions (in routing technology, systems admin, network management)
Trained some of the faculty on e-learning deployment
Currently working on our 3rd generation network architecture to allow for connectivity scaling and efficient content delivery
