Color VariationsAs in all natural materials, color in paving stones hasinherent variations. Paver color is affected by the vari-ances in the raw materials, concrete mixture moisturecontent, climatic conditions and other variations.Therefore, the colors shown are approximate representa-tions of Pavestone’s paver colors, but should not beexpected to be an exact match of what will be delivered.

The Nature of EfflorescenceAnother cause of color variation in pavers may be thenatural phenomenon called efflorescence. Efflorescence,a deposit of white salts consisting of mostly calcium car-bonate, may appear as a white powder on the paver sur-face and in no way affects the structural integrity. Thisphenomenon occurs in all concrete and although it can-not be completely prevented from occurring, efflores-cence generally will weather off and disappear over timeor can be removed with cleaners at the job site.
