From the looks of things around our facility, much has changed since

H.C. (Hap) Howell, Sr. (1901—1971) decided to start a veneer mill back

in 1946. But the fact is the Howell company is still running on the same

concepts Hap envisioned over 60 years ago ... a total commitment to deliver

top-quality hardwood products and services.

Sure, we’ve added additional equipment and facilities, but modernization

aside, Howell Hardwood Flooring is still the same American-based, family

owned and operated company that is dedicated to our founder’s values.

Today, our mission is to partner with flooring craftsmen to outfit

American homes with distinctive hardwood floors and

provide personal service you won’t find anywhere else.

This collection features some of the most beautiful North American hardwoods

available today. With a job site finish, you can create your own unique look adding

genuine warmth and charm to your interior. Choose from rich walnut, rustic hickory

or modern maple and everything in between.

Our environmentally friendly fumed birch and maple give you a distinctly

exotic look while using a non-rainforest product. The chemical-free process naturally

deepens the grain pattern and color of wood throughout.

The Oaks Collection offers a variety of both Red and White Oak choices. When these Oaks are site

finished, you have a beautiful one-of-a-kind floor reflecting your choices of color, grain pattern, width

and sheen. Square edges provide timeless appeal with the stability and versatility of an engineered f loor.

Offered in two distinctive and visually appealing choices:

Mill Crafted™: Our unique manufacturing process and

skilled hand selection of planks creates a blend of vertical and “cathedral” grains mixed

with flat grain patterns for a solid lumber look.

Traditional Cut: These planks have a broader, variegated grain pattern. In addition to

our standard grade, we also offer our southern character grade for a more casual interior.

The majority of engineered f looring made today is traditional cut.

Our Oaks offer more than beauty and variety ... our unique milling process utilizes a higher percentage

of the log when compared to other types of wood flooring. This means you get the beauty and

advantages of a hardwood floor while knowing you’ve made a sound environmental choice.

made-to-order pre-finished and unfinished

options. With a 5,000 square foot minimumorder you may specify species, grade, gloss level,

color, width, length, wear-layer, edge profile,

thickness ... you name it—you have complete

control over your product. We have provided

hotels, townhome complexes, churches, schools

and commercial retail sites with products that fit

each project need perfectly.

We can provide Forest Stewardship

Council (FSC) certified flooring for large

made-to-order projects and programs.

Our time-tested balanced construction process ensures maximum stability—so thereis virtually no shrinkage or cupping with seasonal humidity changes. We use a special assembly

process that produces very stable products that do not require job site acclimation.

- The top and bottom layers are always the same thickness.

- The entire panel is hot pressed at the same time.

- Our exible manuacturing processes allow us to vary the wear layer, length, thickness, width and grade.
