Graphite

We use graphite every day at school for writing. We usually say the lead in the pencil but it is graphite.

Marble

We use marble for things like countertops, floors, and many other things to decorate your house with.

Pumice

Pumice is used to polish materials. It is even used to get dead skin off your body!

Bismuth

Bismuth is used in medicine for a upset stomach.

Magnetite

Magnetite is a type of iron ore that can be used to make steel, tools and buildings. It can also be used as a magnet.

Slate

Slate is used to make blackboards. Some houses have slate roofs or slate patios.

Limestone

Limestone is used to make chalk. Limestone is also found in toothpaste to help clean your teeth.

Gypsum

Gypsum is used to make drywall. Drywall covers the walls and ceilings in most buildings.
