HOW TO USE MADDEN EDITOR STEP 1 – Download Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1. You NEED 1.1. You CAN have 1.1 and 2.0 installed on the same PC, but remember, 2.0 is not fully backwards capable so 1.1 based programs, like this editor, still need 1.1 installed. STEP 2 – You can extract the ZIP file containing the editor to any location on your PC, just make sure tdbaccess.dll is in the same directory as the EXE. STEP 3 – Run the EXE. Once it has loaded, go to File > Open and find the file you want to open. Madden Editor V2 now doesn’t require you to define ROS or FRA before hand – it automatically detects the file type. STEP 4 – Once you have chosen to open your file, the data from the file should load into the editor automatically, but you won’t know this visually as the editor does this behind the scenes very quickly. You can now edit players, teams, coaches, stadiums etc by using the ‘Edit’ menu item on the menu bar. This will launch a new window inside the editor for each section. IMPORTANT: Remember to click “Save” before choosing a new player, team, coach, stadium etc if you want to save the changes you made. For example, if you choose Player X and change his speed from 77 to 80, if you want to keep this change, you must click “Save” before selecting a new player to edit. However, you don’t have to press “Save” after global edits, or any other function that has its own ‘Apply’ button. These all auto-save once the function has been performed (the only exception is deleting a player, more on that below). “Reload” is used to reload the data from the file. NOTE: If you wish to delete a player, you must save after doing so. This is to prevent accidental deletions. If you do accidentally delete a player, immediately exit the

HOW TO USE MADDEN EDITOR

STEP 1 – Download Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1.

If you do accidentally delete a player, immediately exit the program without saving and the player will not be deleted.

A NOTE ON DRAFT CLASS CREATING/IMPORTING

All draft class related changes should be made via the ‘Draft Class’ menu item under ‘Edit’. However, to edit a draft class in a franchise file, you must first be at the correct stage – the ideal stage is ‘Player Retirements’ in the offseason. If you’re not at the correct stage, you will not be able to click on ‘Draft Class’.

I’M STILL HAVING ISSUES or I HAVE BUGS TO REPORT

If you followed everything above and made sure you are using the utility correctly and are still having issues, or if you have a bug to report, you can get support at the Football-Freaks.com forums in the Madden 08 PC Utilities forum, where there should be a thread entitled “[’08 Utilities] Madden Editor VX.Y”, where X.Y is version of the editor you are using. Please try to post your issues in this thread, as it makes it much easier to keep track and for other people to read in case they’re having the same issue. I can’t guarantee a speedy response if you create your own thread since I could overlook it. Also, please try not to PM problems to me, as you’ll likely

get a much quicker response by posting the issue in the thread, as someone else may know the answer before I even get a chance to log on. It also saves me having to answer the same question over and over again, when I could be spending more time adding features to the editor! :)
