Our Mission
To accelerate the transition to freedom by equipping previously incarcerated individuals with necessary life skills to become contributing members of society.
Our Vision
That all who seek justice, forgiveness and restoration would find them
Our Values
Through God anything is possible. All are created in the image of God; thus, worthy of respect and love. No one is beyond God’s redemption. Success is only obtained through willingness and hard work. Judgment is God’s domain. That restoration involves spiritual, physical and social renewal. That forgiveness is our duty.
Q1. What is 7-70?
A1. 7-70 is a faith based, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping returning citizens accept justice and forgiveness and restore them to become contributing members of society and thus reduce recidivism.
Q2. What is recidivism?
A2. Recidivism is when returning citizens relapse into criminal behavior. The Bureau Of Justice Statistics reported that 76% of those released from prison in 2010 were re-arrested within 5 years.
Q4. What does 7-70 offer?
A4. 7-70 does not ‘do’ things for clients. Clients must own their reentry. We coach, counsel, advise, teach, coordinate, advocate. These things are done via, Coaching, Counseling, Training, Case Management, Housing and Employment services. We believe that this approach allows God to work in the lives of our clients to bring positive change and reduce recidivism.
Q5. Do clients have to be Christian?
A5. No. 7-70 will help anyone regardless of belief. However, we are Christians and all our services follow Christian principles. Bible study is voluntary. We believe that we demonstrate the truth of our faith by living a compassionate life; with justice, forgiveness and restoration.
Q3. Why is recidivism so high?
A3. Because returning citizens don’t face a level playing field. Many jobs and careers are closed to them. Without jobs they have no money and cannot find a safe place to live. Without support to face these obstacles many go back to their old way, self-destructive ways of living.
