Step 1:: Setting Up Your Hangout On Air

Hangouts On Air stream live to your Youtube channel and are linked to your Google+ profile or Google+ business page.You will need to have your YouTube channel verified in order to upload or stream content that is more than 15 minutes long. To verify your YouTube channel, click here.

Once your account has been verified, you can now start setting up your Hangout On Air.In the next steps, we will walk through the steps to schedule your coaching call via hangouts on air.

Note: your coaching client will need to have a Google+ account to join the call.

Log on to your YouTube account

Click on the   icon and select Dashboard

From the Dashboard, select Uploads and then Live Events:

Click on New live event

Fill out the information related to your event

Set the Visibility to “Unlisted” so that the Hangout On Air is only available to those with the link. By setting this event to “Unlisted” it does not get broadcast to your personal Google+ profile.

When you are done, click on “Create event”.

After the event is created, you will see it in the list of events:

Click on the event you just created:

Your event is now created.

Step 2:: Coaching Call

Make sure you are connected via ethernet to your Internet to ensure good broadcast quality.

Log into your YouTube account and select the event from the Events list.Click on ‘Start Hangout On Air”

Click on   to invite your coaching client to the hangout.

ScreenSharing:If you’d like to share your screen during your coaching: select the “Screen Share” button. Make sure to not share your desktop but rather the actual screen with the content that you want to share.

Click on “Start Screenshare” once you’ve selected the screen that you want to share. 

Hit “Start Broadcast” and you’re live!  A count­down will appear and you will then be broadcasting live. Note: Because this is unlisted it will not be broadcast to the public unless you share the link.

Step 3:: Recording

Yes, there will be a replay! Because the Hangout On Air is broadcast directly to YouTube, you don’t need to do any uploading once the broadcast is complete. 

You can send your coaching client the link to the recording.
