Practice in all directions on the fretboard; vertically, diagonally and horizontally (up and down

each string). Do not play chords or arpeggios as we want to avoid shapes in favor of learning note

location. Call out and sing the names of the notes as you play them. Don’t play a note unless you

can name it. When you no longer need to refer to the diagram to find any note in the triad, your

day’s work is done.
