How to install QGIS 1.8 Lisboa with Scipy enabled on Windows XP
This little tutorial is supposed to help people to install my QGIS plugin LecoS (http://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/LecoS/).
Before you start installing make sure that:• You have administrator privileges• Enough space on your hard-drive to install
1. Go to http://hub.qgis.org/projects/quantum-gis/wiki/Download#12-OSGeo4W-Installer and download the OSGeo4-Installer for Windows. Execute the setup file as administrator and select advanced install ( “Fortgeschrittene Installation”)

2. Choose Download files from the Internet (first option)
3. After selecting where to install QGIS (by default on Windows drive C:/ ), you will see the package screen, where you have to select the packages you want to install

4. Go to “Desktop” and select the qgis entry (by clicking on “skip”). You are also welcome to install the QGIS development version (seperate install) as well as saga and grass, which can be really handy in complex GIS analysis
5. Important step: Afterwards go to Libraries, scroll down to the python libraries (they all start with python-*) and select python-numpy, python-scipy, python-pil as shown below.

6. Go forward and download/install all the files (can take some time). Afterwards start QGIS 1.8 from your desktop. No errors should occur up to this step, otherwise you have some problem with your system/internet/privileges setup.
7. After starting QGIS you can open the QGIS python plugin installer, search for LecoS and download it.
Issues LecoS can not deal with / doesn't like:• Raster layers with a non defined no-data value (N/A)• Calculations on two layers with different CRS• Multi-polygon geometries ( more than one polygon with the same feature ID ).
Good luck and report any bugs on the QGIS bug tracker (raise a ticket)http://hub.qgis.org/projects/lecos/issues
