How to get to The Children’s Hospital

of Philadelphia

In this document, you will find maps and directions for getting to and from our Main Campus. Due to ongoing construction and traffic delays in our area, these routes may change. Please allow extra time to get to your next appointment with us. You may call us at 215-590-7275 or visit www.chop.edu/directions if you need to verify your route or have other questions.

Coming to CHOP from I-76 EASTMarket Street exit: Take exit 345 toward Market Street/30th Street Station. Turn right at Market Street. Turn left at 34th Street, which becomes Civic Center Boulevard. Continue on Civic Center Boulevard as it curves right around the Hospital. Go to the traffic light and make a right into Osler Circle.

University Avenue exit: Take exit 346B for University Avenue. Stay in the right lane, which merges with University Avenue. At the next light, turn right onto Civic Center Boulevard. At the next light, turn right onto Health Sciences Drive. Continue, passing West Service Drive, to East Service Drive. Turn left onto East Service Drive. At the light, turn left onto Civic Center Boulevard. At the next light, make a right into Osler Circle.

Coming to CHOP from I-76 WESTUniversity Avenue exit: Take exit 346B for Civic Center/University Avenue. You will merge onto 34th Street. After crossing the bridge, 34th Street turns slightly left and becomes University Avenue. Stay in the right lane and turn right at the traffic light (Civic Center Boulevard). At the next light, turn right onto Health Sciences Drive. Continue, passing West Service Drive, to East Service Drive. Turn left onto East Service Drive. At the light, turn left onto Civic Center Boulevard. At the next light, make a right into Osler Circle.

Market Street exit: Take exit 345 for Market Street toward 30th Street Station. Cross Chestnut Street and continue to the next traffic light (Market Street). Turn left at Market Street. Turn left at 34th Street, which becomes Civic Center Boulevard. Continue on Civic Center Boulevard as it curves right around the Hospital. Go to the traffic light and make a right into Osler Circle.

From CHOP to I-76 EAST/WEST (using University Avenue)

When leaving the Wood Center parking garage, make a right at the top of the exit ramp and then make a U-turn at the stop sign, proceeding around Osler Circle, and exiting at the light onto Civic Center Boulevard. (Please note: Civic Center Boulevard runs only one way.) Turn right onto Civic Center Boulevard. Follow to University Avenue and turn left at the light.

I-76 East - Stay in the left lane on University Avenue, following the sign for I-76 East. The road will then curve to the right and become 34th Street. Follow 34th Street until you see a sign for I-76 East. Take the ramp onto I-76 East.

I-76 West - Stay on the right lane on University Avenue, following the sign to I-76 West. Take the ramp onto I-76 West.

From CHOP to I-76 EAST/WEST (using Market Street)

When leaving the Wood Center parking garage, make a right at the top of the exit ramp and then make a U-turn at the stop sign, proceeding around Osler Circle, and exiting at the light onto Civic Center Boulevard. (Please note: Civic Center Boulevard runs only one way.)

Turn right onto Civic Center Boulevard and get into the left lane. Turn left at West Service Drive and follow to Convention Avenue. Turn left on Convention Avenue and follow to the next light, 34th Street. Turn right, and 34th will become 33rd Street. Continue on 33rd Street to Market Street. Turn right. Continue along Market Street and you will see signs for I-76 East/West.

I-76 East - Turn right and merge onto I-76 East, following the ramp to Airport/I-95/Sports Complex.

I-76 West - Turn left. Bearing right, take the ramp onto I-76 West.

Parking LocationsChildren’s Hospital Main Building (open 24 hours): Garage entrance on Civic Center Boulevard. Call 215-590-2291.

Wood Center (open 24 hours): Garage entrance off Civic Center Boulevard on Osler Circle. Call 215-590-2291.

Discount parking is available ($3). Please bring your parking ticket to any patient information desk or department registration desk in the Hospital for validation.

Public TransportationBus: SEPTA bus routes 30, 40, 42 and 90 run in front of or near Children’s Hospital.

Subway: The SEPTA Market Street-Frankford line stops at 34th and Market Streets. Follow 34th Street south toward Children’s Hospital.

Trains: The University Avenue station on Spruce Street between 33rd Street and the South Street Bridge is the closest stop. It is a direct connection to 30th Street Station.

Taxis: Taxis are available throughout the city; refer to a telephone directory for cab company numbers. A taxi stand is located outside the Main Building.
