How to Use tHese Cards

After presenting the mission report or at the end of Sabbath School, give the children the corresponding mission card. Remind them to pray for the child/children featured on the card during the week.

The following week, hold up the previous week’s card and ask the children what they remember about that child or their story.

Remind children that there are three things they can do to help others learn about God:

1 Tell them about Jesus

2Pray for those who are telling others about Jesus

3Give their mission offerings so that those we can’t tell have a chance to learn about Jesus.

Encourage the children to collect all 12 cards each quarter.

Happy Birthday, Mission!

The mission stories and the Thirteenth Sabbath Offering are 100 years old this year!

Pray that God will bless the missionary families around the world. Pray that our mission offerings will help many more children and adults learn that Jesus loves them.

Oognah and Jakna

Kids.AdventistMission.org

www.childrensMinistries.gc.Adventist.org

Oognah [OOG-nah] didn’t know about Jesus until a friend invited Oognah to church. Pray that as she tells her brother, Jakna [JAHK-nah], and her parents about God, they will love Him too.

Mongolia has about 2.8 million people and only 1,660 Adventist Christians.

Binderya

Kids.AdventistMission.org

Binderya [been-DEHR-yah] sings songs to thank God for helping her family find Jesus. Pray that many more people in Mongolia will learn to love God.

Our mission offerings help teach the people of Mongolia that Jesus loves them. Our Thirteenth Sabbath Offerings have helped provide churches for believers, too.

Hongra

Kids.AdventistMission.org

www.childrensMinistries.gc.Adventist.org

Hongra [HONG-rah] loved listening to music on the radio. But her grandmother taught her that it’s better to sing music that honors God. Pray that Hongra’s love for music will help her friends want to know about Jesus.

Most of the believers in Mongolia are young people. Part of this quarter’s Thirteenth Sabbath Offering will help provide a youth training center in Mongolia.

Mook

Kids.AdventistMission.org

www.childrensMinistries.gc.Adventist.org

Mook loves attending the only Adventist school in Mongolia. Pray that many more children will discover God’s love through this new Adventist school.

Most people in Mongolia aren’t Christians. They believe that they must live a good life so that when they die they will be reborn into a better life.

Ken, Kaycee, Mark

Kids.AdventistMission.org

www.childrensMinistries.gc.Adventist.org

Ken, Jaycee, and Mark can’t attend a Christian school. So they’ve made their school their mission field and tell everyone they can about Jesus. Pray that their friends and their teachers will want to know more about Jesus.

Japan isn’t a Christian nation, and very few Adventists live there.

Yana

Kids.AdventistMission.org

www.childrensMinistries.gc.Adventist.org

Yana’s school holds classes and sporting events on Sabbath, so Yana doesn’t go. Pray that Yana’s faithfulness to God will help her friends and teachers want to know about Jesus.

There are just a few Adventist schools in Japan, but many children from non-Christian homes attend. Our mission offerings help these students learn to love and honor God.

Wonbin and Yewon

Kids.AdventistMission.org

www.childrensMinistries.gc.Adventist.org

Wonbin [wawn-BIN] and his sister, Yewon [yeh-WAWN], are from Korea. But for five years their family served as missionaries in Japan. Pray that the people in Japan who have learned to love God will remain faithful to Jesus.

Many people in Japan worship their ancestors. Only one in 8,300 people in Japan is an Adventist Christian.

Quincy

Kids.AdventistMission.org

www.childrensMinistries.gc.Adventist.org

Quincy loves music and is learning to play the piano and violin. Pray that he will always use his musical gifts to help others want to follow Jesus.

Almost one third of the people in South Korea say they are Christians, and almost one fifth are Buddhist; but almost half the people profess no religion at all.

Maria

Kids.AdventistMission.org

www.childrensMinistries.gc.Adventist.org

When Maria moved to Korea, she felt lonely because she couldn’t speak Korean. Then her parents found the Adventist international church. Let’s thank God that this quarter part of our Thirteenth Sabbath Offering will help others find a welcome church in which to worship God.

CHINA

Ah Tan

Kids.AdventistMission.org

www.childrensMinistries.gc.Adventist.org

Ah Tan’s family worshipped an idol until her mother learned about Jesus. Praise God that Ah Tan’s family worships Jesus now.

One of every five people on the earth lives in China.

While more than 400,000 Chinese are Adventist Christians, that’s only one in every 3,400 Chinese.

Lin

Kids.AdventistMission.org

www.childrensMinistries.gc.Adventist.org

In China it is difficult for children to share their faith. But Lin shares her love for Jesus in quiet ways. Pray that Christian children everywhere will share their faith in God with others.

Part of our Thirteenth Sabbath Offering will help make video programs in Chinese so many people can learn about Jesus.

Show the children in your Sabbath School class that the boys and girls they hear about in mission stories are real children. These boys and girls are missionaries in their own way because they share God’s love with their friends and family.

These cards will remind the children in your Sabbath School class to pray for the boys and girls they hear about in the mission report. Your children’s prayers will help these children to be brave, kind, helpful, and loving examples so that others might see Jesus in them. Teach children to pray for themselves and others that they can be true missionaries for God.

praying For kids

Send a missionary home with the children in your Sabbath School class each week. Adventist Mission Cards for Kids contains profiles of 12 children featured in the children’s mission quarterly. Each card contains a photo, country information and fun facts about a place the mission offerings go each quarter.

This new product from the General Conference Office of Adventist Mission and Children’s Ministries can make the weekly mission stories tangible for your kids and encourage them to pray for the children that they meet each week in Children’s Mission.
