How to Draw a Dragonfly

Step 1:Draw a long, skinny

U shape.Then draw a

capital U on top.

This is the dragonfly’s abdomen.

Step 2:Draw a bigger U shape on top of the smaller U

shape.

This is the dragonfly’s thorax.

Step 3:Draw half of a circle on top of the big U shape.

This is the dragonfly’s head.

Step 4:Draw a big

curved line from the corner of the thorax and

abdomen to make a wing.

Step 5:Draw a wing on

the opposite side, too.

Step 6:Draw another wing coming out of the

thorax.It should go up.

Step 7:Draw a matching

wing on the opposite side.

Step 8:Start the leg.Draw a small

rectangular shape that goes upwards.

Step 9:Draw one more

rectangle going up.

Step 10:Make a claw!

Step 11:Do the same thing on the other side.

Step 12:Now draw the middle leg.

Start with a rectangle going

down.

Step 13:Now draw a

rectangle shape going up.

Step 14:Draw a claw!

Step 15:Now draw the

left leg!

Step 16:Start one more

leg.

Draw a BIG rectangle shape going down from

the thorax.

Step 17:Draw another

rectangle shape going down.

Step 18:Draw a claw!

Step 19:Draw one more

leg!

Step 20:Draw a Y shape on the head to make

eyes.

Then draw two antennae.

Step 21:Draw a curved

line on the top of all 4 wings.

Step 22:Draw straight lines down the

abdomen.

Step 23:Draw curved lines

on the wings.

Step 24:Color your dragonfly!

Remember: dragonflies are

colorful! It can be any color you

want!

Step 25:Color the

background any way that you

want to.
