huurtoeslaghow to apply for huurtoeslag – a benefit towards your monthly rent

requirements

● a DigiD ● a residence permit ● your address is registered at the municipality (i.e. you have a BSN number) ● you are between 18 and 22 years of age and your rent is between €223,42 and €414,02 per month ● your yearly income is less than €22,200 and you own less than €25,000 in assets

or

● you are over 23 years of age and your rent is between €223,42 and €710,68 per month ● your yearly income is less than €22,200 and you own less than €25,000 in assets

Navigate to the Belastingdienst’s website (click here).

Click on “Mijn toeslagen” to proceed.

Click “Inloggen” to log in with your DigiD.

If you do not have a DigiD you cannot proceed.

Log in using your DigiD.

Tick the second box if you have a DigiD which requires an extra SMS code. Then type your username and password into the empty fields and click “Inloggen”.

In order to apply for huurtoeslag please click on “Aanvragen”.

The screen to the right is the home screen of “Mijn Toeslagen”. Some details have been removed to protect the privacy of the person logged in.

Type in the day on which you wish the payments to start.

The correct format for this is Date/Month/Year, in numbers. So for the first of November 2014 you would have to indicate 01112014.

Fill in the questions as they appear and click “Ga verder”.1. Are you married or in a civil partnership at the date entered?2. Do you live alone on the date entered?3. Would you like to apply for rent subsidy for the following address : “your address”4. According to our data your income in 2015 is “your income”. Is this correct?

Click on “Volgende”.

The text in the window states that this is the form to apply for rent subsidies and you should click “Volgende” to proceed.

Answer the questions and click “Akkoord”.1. From which date do you wish for the rent subsidy to start? (DDMMJJJJ)2. Do you have a partner??3. Would you like to apply for rent subsidy for the following address : “your address”4. Do you have housemates that are 18 years or older?
