What is a Recovery College?
– Free, educational courses and workshops with a focus on recovery, often learning a new skill
– Relaxed learning environment, with likeminded people with no tests or assessments.
– Developed with people who have experience of health problems
– Many of the courses have been written in partnership and will be taught in partnership.
– Delivered in central location as well as in the community, e.g. libraries, allotments, church halls, etc.

• Courses and workshops vary in length and learning objectives, but all of them focus on recovery.
• They offer opportunities to gain knowledge and understanding of mental and physical health problems, learn skills, learn new activities, meet people and share skills and sometimes experiences

#amilliondecisions is the campaign from CILIP and Health Education England calling for decisions in the healthcare sector to be fully evidence based, highlighting improvements in quality of care, patient experience and cost effectiveness when healthcare providers and their teams work closely with health librarians and knowledge specialists.
