ICRDET is a vast Canvas that Primarily involves independent innovations in the core

arena of Science, Engineering and Technology. The objective of ICRDET-2019 is to

provide a world class platform to present and discuss all the latest research and

results of scientists related to Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Computer

Engineering and Basic Sciences. This conference provides opportunities for the

different areas delegates to exchange new ideas and application experiences face to

face, to establish professional or research relations and to find global partners for future

collaboration. We hope that the conference results constituted significant

contribution to the knowledge in these up to date scientific field. we are pleased to

invite prospective authors to submit their original manuscripts to ICRDET-2019. The

conference will be held every year to make it an ideal platform for people to share views

and experiences in Science, Engineering & Technology related areas.

About Rajasthan Technical University, Kota: Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) is located in Kota in the state of Rajasthan. It was

established in 2006 by the Government of Rajasthan to enhance the technical education

in the state. The university has been established in the campus of University College of

Engineering, Kota (previously known as Engineering College, Kota), which is located on

the Rawatbhata Road, The university currently affiliates about 112 Engineering

Colleges, 05 B.Arch., 27 MCA Colleges, 60 MBA Colleges, 48 M.Tech Colleges, 01 M.Arch

and 02 Hotel Management and Catering Institute. The University aims to provide quality

technical education, which may help Rajasthan in its technical development and will

boost technical environment in the country. The University offers almost all the

disciplines related to technical education including Bachelor of Technology, Master of

Technology, Master of Business Administration, Master of Computer Applications, and

Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology. The University is making

steady progress in developing and providing best technical environment for education

and will continue to serve the nation in coming years.

Message I would like to thank whole-heartedly the organizers of the International Conference on Recent Developments in Engineering & Technology (ICRDET-2019, Sept. 14-15, 2019) to be held at Anand International College of Engineering, Jaipur, India under the auspices of Rajasthan Technical University for giving us all an opportunity for communication among scientists in diverse disciplines. We’ve been living in the world of Sh-Sh-K whose meaning will be made clear in intermission of my talk. We still stick to the 20th century’s feudalistic sectionalism. I believe younger generation should live in the Neo-Newtonian Era where people in different disciplines can communicate with others in far-remote areas. This is really necessary since otherwise the society may stampede to total destruction. Like two degrees higher temperature would result in famine all over the world. To understand such gloomy doctrines and claim remedies for them, one has to go down to the very basic of a few sciences. Einstein says ``No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.’’ However, to reach this level, one needs to have a general knowledge with one or two majors. It is true that we have been living in the Era of implementation competing AIs. However, only implementations are one-sided, and research should come into play. Only in good balance of research and practice, we Homo-sapiens-sapiens could survive. I am looking forward to seeing you esp. young people at this important conference.

Message Allow me to warmly thank the organizers of the International Conference on Recent Developments in Engineering & Technology (ICRDET-2019) at Anand International College of Engineering, Jaipur, for the preparation of a very interesting scientific program. Their efforts will make ICRDET-2019 into a world class platform to discuss research results of scientists from various disciplines. I am highly optimistic that the scientific program of this conference will pave a way to bring together scientific visionaries through their research talks and will put forward many thought provoking strategies for future line of action in the areas of science, engineering and technology. Moreover, conferences like ICRDET-2019 are needed to establish professional and research relations and to find global partners for future collaborations. For me it is a honor and a pleasure to participate in ICRDET-2019. As a mathematician and professor of analysis and optimization, let me emphasize, how important it is to have at a conference on recent developments in engineering and technology a track on basic sciences including mathematics. In fact, modern mathematics is a key technology for the future. For example, only advanced mathematics can make it possible to extract reliable information from big data sets. Further, to create digital twins of systems and processes, a whole bunch of modern mathematics combining modeling, simulation and optimization is needed. As mathematical analysis often is a cornerstone to obtain new insights into systems studied by engineers, I am grateful to have on the one hand the possibility to share at ICRDET-2019 some of my research results with you, and to learn on the other hand a lot from you during this conference. Prime and Their Uses in Engineering

I will begin by introducing prime numbers and going through fundamental theorems of

On a New Generalization of Fractional Derivative Operators

In this talk, we aim to discuss some related works on fractional operators. After that we study

extended fractional differential operators (such as the Riemann-Liouville and Caputo type

fractional operators) involving generalized hyper geometric function introduced recently and

their properties. Moreover, we as well, study certain fractional integral inequalities associated

with the well known Pólya-Szegöand Chebyshev type integral inequalities. At the end of talk,

I shall be briefly propose plan of my future research work.

In this paper, we study properties of Cayley graphs 𝐶𝑎𝑦 (Zm X Zn,𝑈m X 𝑈n ) of direct product

between two cyclic groups where m and n are natural number which are not 1 emphasising

their connectivity. Moreover, we find conditions to make them be Hamiltonian and Eulerian.

Boundary behavior

In this talk we state a few penetrating principles in the universe and in the concrete world. In

ancient cultures those cosmic principles were perceived and described in some different-

looking ways. The cosmic dual force—balance between mutually conflicting two forces—has

been most notably known as the Ying-Yang principle and stated in many ways, like good and

evil, codes and ciphers being two sides of a coin. Regarding a concrete principle, we dwell on

the boundary behavior not only spatial but also temporal. This way of grasping phenomena

includes most of the researches in science and technology up to some details. We shall give

examples of boundary functions and state some plausible remedies for survival of Homo

sapiens-sapiens through EV2GG and science of longevity. We emphasize the importance of

interdisciplinary studies in the 21st century, esp. for younger generations.

Soft Computing: breaking the barriers of computing

Due to the limitations of Hard Computing approaches, Soft Computing has emerged as one of

the exciting approaches in the modern world. The capability of Soft Computing techniques

like Fuzzy reasoning to do approximate reasoning has made it a promising approach.What

makes Fuzzy Logic so exciting is imprecision. Yes! It is the way humans want things to be.

From giving a command like ‘Turn off the Air conditioner if it is chilly’ to a command like

‘Turn on the Air Conditioner if I feel a bit warm’, Fuzzy Logic understands it all. Other

biologically inspired techniques like evolutionary computing and genetic programming adopt

the capabilities of Genetics like crossover and mutation. Apart from these, Swarm

Variations and Nonlinear PDEs and show how some of the modern techniques and tools here

are used to get a deeper insight and understanding in the field of material sciences,

specifically, nonlinear elasticity and mechanics of solids. In particular I will describe how the

"mysterious" notion of Quaisconvexity -- the central convexity notion in vectorial Calculus of

Variations -- is intimately intertwined with the formation of microstructures and the

morphology of crystals on the one hand and the existence, multiplicity and regularity of

equilibrium configurations and states in nonlinear elasticity. At the end I will present a

number of outstanding and mathematically challenging open problems.

Abstract. —In this report, solution processed sol-gel derived undoped ZnO and Y doped

ZnO (ZnO: Y) thin films are presented. Both undoped ZnO and ZnO: Y thin films exhibited

highly preferred c-axis orientation (002) orientation peak. The ZnO: Y thin film crystallinity

was considerably improved with increased of (002) peak intensity and grain size. O1s spectra

of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) showed less number of oxygen vacancy related

defects present in the ZnO: Y as compare to undoped ZnO.

Tuning Oxygen Vacancies in Ferrite Films by Applying Magnetic Field

Abstract. Magnetic films of ferrites, cobalt (CoFe2O4) and Nickel (NiFe2O4) were prepared

on the surface of precursor solutions in the presence of magnetic field. The applied magnetic

field alters cations concentration in the solution and thus the oxygen vacancies in the resultant

crystal lattice of the prepared films. In order to estimate oxygen vacancies, surface chemistry

of the films was studied using X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) technique and also

the elemental detection is done using Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX).

Magnetic field was applied both in out-of plane and in-plane direction of the precursor

solution. Depending upon the applied field direction a significant variation in oxygen

vacancies is observed. In both of the samples, the applied in-plane magnetic field enhances

oxygen vacancies as compared to the out-of-plane field and those prepared without magnetic

field. This indicated the applied method is an effective way to tune the oxygen vacancies for

many important applications requiring tuning of oxygen vacancies.

Surface morphology of Ni ion irradiated Zr-based bulk amorphous alloy

Abstract. Zr-based bulk amorphous alloys have been drawing extensive attention because of

their high glass-forming ability as well as possess excellent physical, chemical and

mechanical properties such as high strength, high hardness, high corrosion resistance, high

wear resistance, etc. Ion irradiation can lead to the formation of a damage cascade-a localized

region with high density displacements. During thermal equilibration and subsequent energy

dissipation of damage cascades, structural relaxation is expected, resulting into

nanocrystalline formation. In present study Zr59Cu20Ni8Al10Ti3 bulk amorphous alloy has

been irradiated with Ni+7

ion beam of 100 MeV energy at different fluences of 1 x 1013

and 1

x 1014

ions/cm2 at room and elevated temperature i.e. 200°C at IUAC, Delhi. The change in

microstructure was examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the surface morphology of as-

cast and irradiated samples was examined using Field Emission Scanning Electron

Microscopy (FESEM). XRD pattern of irradiated sample at elevated temperature depicts the

narrowing of broad peak in comparison to that of room temperature indicating the presence

of nano-crystalline phases. The initiation of nano-crystal formation was noticed in FESEM

micrographs of irradiated samples at elevated temperature which could not be observed at

room temperature. Further investigation such as effect of irradiation on mechanical and

corrosion properties of bulk amorphous alloys can be carried out.

Abstract. The mathematical model designed to recognize the second law of thermodynamics

analysis of entropy generation for Casson nanofluid flow induced by an exponentially

stretching surface with chemical reaction and convective surface boundary conditions in

existence of thermal radiation in a porous media. Casson fluid is one of the types of such non-

Newtonian fluids, which act like an elastic solid, and for this category of fluid, a yield shear

stress exists in the constitutive equation. If the shear stress is less than the applied stress, it

behaves like a solid and if it is greater than the applied stress it starts to move. The governing

partial differential equations have been transformed into ordinary differential equations

through applicable similarity transformations, which is then solved by using the function

―bvp4c’’ of MATLAB. Numerical consequences are acquired for the different flow physical

parameters on fluid, velocity component, temperature distribution and concentration profile

for the various parameter and these acquired results are further plotted on graphs and

depicted in tables for analysis as well as entropy generation number are discussed.

Abstract. —Concrete filled tubes offer passive confinement. In recent years, some

investigations are reported for double skin compression members. But most of these have

been with steel tubes. The study reported in this paper presents experimental work on double

skin tubular column (DSTC) with UPVC tubes –both as inner and outer skin. DSTC

specimens with H/D ratio of 3 and external diameter of 90 mm and 75 mm were casted with

30 mm UPVC tube as inner diameter with thickness of each tube as 3 mm. Two types of

DSTC specimens were studied, one with hollow inner core and another with solid. Single

skin tubular specimens were casted for comparing behavior of single and double skin. The

matrix has been taken as self compacting concrete (SCC), as it contained high volume of fly-

ash, so compressive strength behavior of the matrix as well as the tubular specimens beyond

28 day age was also investigated. Comparisons of test results with EUROCODE 4, ACI,

Australian code, and the evaluation of energy absorption capacity and confinement

parameters were presented.

Abstract. The ground water gets contaminated by heavy metals by various

anthropogenic activities such as sewage irrigation, electroplating, refinery, municipal

solid waste dumping. However, the sorption of these heavy metals in the soil its mobility

and distribution depends upon soil type, climate, and other natural and anthropogenic

activities. These heavy metal contaminants are undesirable for the human health and the

environment, and can produce toxicant effect by bio magnifications. The Effluent of

every kind must be treated for the removal of heavy metals for contaminant free

groundwater and healthy soil. The use of groundwater from the shallow hand-dug wells

by host communities should be discouraged and alternative source of water should be

provided by the company or government. Deep sited boreholes should be sunk to replace

the existing shallow hand-dug wells in the area. It is concluded from the present study

that the electroplating industries in Aligarh must either treat their electroplating

wastewater for zero concentration in effluent or the operations of electroplating

industries should be discontinued. If the present trend of Cadmium rich wastewater

dumping persists, sooner or later it may cause kidney problems and cancer in these areas.

The effluent of any type containing heavy metal must be treated before disposing it to

prevent ground water contamination the characteristics of subsoil is different from those

of the surface layer Zinc Lead and Chromium in the soil under analysis is lower than the

permissible limits of world health organization Cadmium is found to be higher than the

permissible limits of world health organization at all the three places in Aligarh.

Utilization of various Agro-wastes as partial replacement of fine

Abstract. The mining of construction grade sand, which is used as fine aggregates in

concrete, is the most disastrous activity that threatens the very existence of the river

ecosystems. The aim of this research is to partially replace fine aggregates in concrete by

various agricultural wastes. In this study, corncob ash, groundnut shell and sugarcane bagasse

ash are used as the replacing fillers. These agro wastes are utilized as 0%,5%,

10%,15%and20% as fine aggregates in concrete. Different properties of fresh concrete are

investigated for these agro-waste fillers and various tests such as slump, shrinkage and

density are carried out. In the hardened state of agro–waste concrete, various tests such as

compressive strength, flexural strength, and ultrasonic pulse velocity tests were determined at

the age of 7 days, 28 days, 56 days and 90 days. With increasing percentage of replacement

of rice husk ash, groundnut shell and sugarcane bagasse ash with fine aggregate, the slump

value decreased while slump value increased with increase in corncob ash as a replacement

material. Till optimal replacement of 20% of fine aggregate with sugarcane bagasse, the

minimum compressive strength was achieved while maximum compressive strength was

achieved for 5% replacement of groundnut shell with fine aggregate. Corncob ash as a

replacementof10%withfineaggregateshowedmaximum strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity

showed decreased strength with increase in corncob content in concrete. Thus the utilization

of agro – wastes proves to be very sustainable and eco–friendly in construction.

Abstract. The growth in the construction sector all over the world has increased the demand

of construction materials to greater extent. Sand extracted from the river bed has been used

as fine aggregates in concrete which proves to be the finest filler materials of concrete. The

illegal sand mining for this purpose has lead to the destruction of many rivers and thus

disturbed the entire eco-system. Coal bottom ash, on the other hand, are produced in large

volumes by the coal fired thermal power plants and is responsible for air pollution as well as

posing threat to lives of living beings. The aim of this research work is to evaluate the

potential of coal bottom ash as substitute of fine aggregates in concrete. In this study various

tests such as compressive strength test, drying shrinkage, chloride ion permeability test etc.

were carried on concrete incorporating coal bottom ash. The test results indicate that bottom

ash concrete exhibits better stability in dimension. After 180 days of immersion in 10%

magnesium sulphate solution, no weight loss and reduction in compressive strength of

bottom ash concrete specimens were observed. The concrete incorporating coal bottom ash

as fine aggregate showed better resistance to chloride ion penetration. Thus the incorporation

of coal bottom ash as substitute of fine aggregate in concrete is the most economical and

ecological way of waste disposal and conserving the natural resources.

insecure channel. Core of Cryptography consists of two main parts, Secret key establishment

and Secure Communication. All sort of Cryptography until 1976 is Symmetric (private)

which involves two parties and an encryption and decryption method with a secret key.

Asymmetric Cryptography (public) is entirely different type of cryptography in which user

possesses two keys, public and a private key. Elliptic Curve Cryptography is the newest

addition to the family of public key cryptosystems which has practical relevance. The main

motivation behind Elliptic Curve Cryptography is to find a Public Key Family which

provides the same level of security as Discrete Log Systems or RSA but with shorter

operands. Through Fault Attacks, the adversary disturbs the computation of Cryptographic

system to obtain information about Secret Key. This paper uses Elliptic Curve Cryptography

to build a Cryptographic System and provides a way to retrieve the key by application of

Fault Attacks on the Algorithm. This paper demonstrates the application of fault attacks on

is observing IT revolution, but at the same time cyber frauds are getting more sophisticated

day by day, social engineering attacks being one of it. Here the most vulnerable or the

weakest link i.e. the humans are exploited for the financial benefits. Banks have their own

security solutions for combating the cyber security attacks. The major problem exists

wherever human intervention is required such as username and password in case of Internet

Banking. Social engineering technique is effective in getting the username and password to

be revealed by the customer himself. Banks find themselves helpless in such cases. In this

paper, the proposed system provides a solution which can be utilized by banks as well as

customer’s to combat net banking frauds based on social engineering attacks. The proposed

system will check the eligibility of the customer who applies for net banking services.

Eligibility test will be the benchmark for allowing or denying the internet banking facility to

the applicant. It basically checks about the awareness of the customer about cyber security

and internet banking security aspects. The system also provides awareness training about the

financial frauds involving human intervention and the preventive steps to combat such attacks

to the customer who fails to clear the eligibility test. These customer can reappear the test and

avail the facility by clearing it. The system helps in combating banking frauds due to lack of

knowledge about cyber security among the Internet Banking customers.

Abstract — This paper carries study of an un-electrified remote village physically located at

a latitude: 25°6' N and longitude: 77°21'E in GMT + 5:30 time zone with an altitude of 275

meters above sea level identified as Mahoori of Rajasthan, India having a population of 217

persons in 41 households with bad footprint on the socio-economic conditions although

having extensive prospective of exploiting the renewable resources. The Hybrid Renewable

Energy Source (HRES) paradigm is proposed which includes a combination of Solar

Photovoltaic (SPV), Wind Generator (WG), Diesel Generator (DG) and battery with real time

optimal cost based on emission of solar, variations of wind and load profile to meet average

scaled residential load of 97.5 kWh/day. The central theme of work is to exploit obtainable

renewable resources of particularized area to fulfill their power demands by amalgam of

renewable sources (i.e. solar, diesel and wind). Mahoori village is focused for the research

practicing and optimization studies also carried by simulation performed in homer. The

overall power generation by the scheme is 68,809 kWh/yr having cost of electricity as

$0.144/kWh. The techno-monetary features along with improvised varied system structures at

0 % - 5 % and 10% maximum capacity deficiency is calculated. The impact of size scarcity

(PET) substrate on 5GHz and 10 GHz frequency. The flexible devices have also very popular

candidate in research mechanism; it enables to attain such features that were impossible with

conventional rigid techniques. Flexible devices open new ways in many applications because of

light weight, low cost, bendability and can mount at uneven surfaces and with well

deformability property. The new possibilities are also generated in many applications with

flexible substrate. We have used this flexible mechanism as noble candidate in microstrip patch

antenna at 5 and 10 GHz microwave frequency application and we have got excellent result in

output, by using this technique, we have improved the antenna performance such as increment

in directivity, gain, bandwidth, return loss etc. when compare with 5GHz patch antenna

component. Flexible device technology offers a vast list of potential applications including

sensor detection, structural health monitoring, war field communication and public safety and

security, satellite communication, health care. This intense research work represents an inset

feed rectangular microstrip patch antenna for high operational frequency application at Ultra

Wide Band (UWB) in the microwave radio region of EM spectrum. It is focused on sensing

applications. High frequency RF device model explored and it will open new fields of

applications in communication and networking domains. This paper is focused on the

improvement of return loss, directivity and bandwidth at software generated resonant frequency

9.95GHz and 5.14GHz at given design & comparison in simulation and modeling using high

frequency structure simulator software (HFSS) version-15. The antenna is feed by inset feed

method and it is easy and provides good impedance matching. Here proposed structure antenna

has been designed on PET substrate. The dielectric constant of PET substrate is 2.8. rectangular

microstrip patch simulation results are illustrated for specific frequency proposed from X band

application domain.

Abstract. — Previously, scientific computation was performed by ALU of a processor which

takes more time. So to increase the speed of operation, Wallace multiplier used which takes

exact result of multiplication. Wallace multiplier performs operation parallel but this utilizes

more delay and area. For this multiplication, full adder and half adder techniques were used

that result in phase reduction. In terms of VLSI, approximate multiplier used because

approximate multiplication can reduce design complexity, delay and area. Approximate

multiplier is a new approach for designing and approximation of multipliers. For this

multiplication, approximate full adder, approximate half adder and approximate compressor

were used that results in approximation. Resulting signal is generated with these altered

partial products having varying probability term. In this project, there is comparative study

between exact multiplier and approximate multiplier. The proposed method is utilizing two

variants of 8 bit multiplier. For this analysis, designing is done on Xilinx tool for both, exact

and approximate multiplier and compared the results. After synthesis, less delay and less area

have been achieved in approximate multiplier as compare to exact multiplier and power is

same in both exact and approximate multiplier.

modulation technique instead of other complex modulation scheme like DPPM, which is a

much simpler and cost effective. With the help of inverse modulation technique, proposed

interface is not only working under day light conditions but also suitable for data

transmission at night with power saving operations. Generally, a Li-Fi system fails operate

under night or dark conditions which is its major limitation. Network connectivity needs

proper illuminance between transmitter and receiver for optimized transmission of files

through light. Proposed system maintains its operations under such adverse conditions also.

minimization of the real power loss plays a significant role to optimize the operation of the

distribution network. Optimal placement of the capacitor with appropriate value plays a vital

role to minimize the active power loss and improve the voltage profile of the distribution

network. In this paper, optimal sitting and sizing of the capacitor in the radial distribution

network are optimized using the grey wolf optimizer algorithm. For this, the total annual

cost, which includes actual power loss and capacitor placement cost, is considered the target

objective. The proposed approach has been tested on 33 distribution networks. The obtained

results properly demonstrated the performance and effectiveness of the proposed method.

optimal minimization of total harmonic distortion (THD) based fundamental switching

control technique is discussed. Three-level and five-level output voltages across the load are

generated by formulating the gate pulses for semiconductor devices using optimal

minimization of total harmonic distortion pulse width modulation (OMTHD-PWM).

Laboratory prototype results and simulation results are provided to support the theoretical

Abstract. In this paper, the development of a new coiflet-5 wavelet transform (CWT) based

fault detection and classification technique for nine phase transmission line (NPTL)

protection is presented. Using the CWT, the faults can be detected, classified and the faulted

phase can be identified simply, by evaluating the amplitudes of coiflet-5 coefficients of nine

phase currents. The validity of the CWT is exemplified using a 765 kV, 50 Hz NPTL

simulated in MATLAB software. CWT is utilized for the processing and extracting features

of the nine phase current signals. The practicability of the CWT is tested under extensive

variations of fault factors. Results represent that the CWT effectively detects and classifies all

types of faults despite of fault factors variation.

compensator (SSSC) has been introduced as a supplementary controller for the damping of

oscillations at low frequencies. The design structure of SSSC based controlled is based on

lead lag structure and consists of Gate Turn of Thyristor (GTO) as controlling device. This

controller has been in implemented in Philips Heffron based Single machine infinite bus

system (SMIB) model for damping the oscillations of low frequencies. To tune the

parameters of damping controller Teaching Learning Based Optimized Algorithm (TLBO) is

used for different conditions. The problem statement has been formulated as objective

function using integral time absolute error (ITAE). Further, the given model has been

simulated in MATLAB and tested for change in reference voltage setting and parameter

variation of the system. Then these results were compared with different controller and

different objective function to verify its robustness and effectiveness of system.

Abstract. Looking at the importance of safety of railway crossings this invention is focused

on a safer and labor free function of railway gate. There are more than 34,000 railway

crossings in India today, out of which more than 12,000 are not attained by operator. More

than 60% of accidents take place at such inhumane railway gate crossings. The above

problem can be solved with automatic gate operating device. In case of railway crossing

gates this device would be the best option as automatic railway crossing device. This

invention is on automatic railway crossing with or without human operator to execute a safer

crossing function. This device is more convenient, eco-friendly, reliable and efficient as this

works on solar energy or just 12 V D.C supplies. Economical innovation with affordable

cost of safe railway and vehicle crossing would be with only 3000 INR. The human errors

are eliminated due to use of electronic circuits. The cars crossing roads are alerted two

times, initially the signaling device i.e. the signals and siren gets into action which alerts

drivers about the arriving train and then after a specific time the gates get closed. The timing

of the gates opening and closing can be controlled using potentiometer provided in timer

circuit which gives automatic as well as manual control.

NARMA-L2 Controller. Two area interconnected simulation model is obtained using

MATLAB/SIMULATION Environment. The frequency response of interconnected Tie-line power

system area obtained using NARMA-L2 controller is compared with the PID controller. The

Proposed controller is capable of removing steady state error of frequency deviation and Tie-line

power deviation. The success of the proposed controller for power system is absorbed in terms of

settling time and peak undershoots time respectively. The IAE error of applied controller is

comparatively lower than conventional controller.

Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux Cored Arc Welding, Submerged Arc

Welding and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding. These processes are associated with molten metal.

Molten metal reacts with the atmosphere so that oxides and nitrides are formed. All arc welding

processes employ some means of shielding the molten weld pool from the air. The Submerged Arc

Welding process is often preferred because it offers high production rate, high melting efficiency,

ease of automation and low operator skill requirement. Generally, all welding processes are used

with the aim of obtaining a welded joint with the desired weld-bead parameters, excellent

mechanical properties with minimum distortion. The Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) process

finds wide industrial application due to its easy applicability, high current density and ability to

deposit a large amount of weld metal using more than one wire at the same time. The quality of

weld depends on bead geometry of the weld which in turn depends on the process variables.

Welding input parameters play a very significant role in determining the quality of a weld joint.

The joint quality can be assessed in terms of properties such as weld -bead geometry, mechanical

properties, and distortion.

FCC approach is implemented for correlating the response i.e. MRR with control factors

i.e. voltage, peak current, pulse on time. These factors provide maximum MRR of 230.6

gm/sec. To obtain the optimal solution, GA is coupled with the obtained mathematical

model [1]. The dielectric fluid used is kerosene oil. ANOVA and F-test are used to check

for model validation. R2 and adjusted R

2 which confirms the validity of proposed model.

The work piece material used in research work is AISI 4140 steel.

Abstract. The present study focused on the mechanical properties of stir casted Al

6063/Al2O3 (Alumina) reinforced metal matrix composites. Aluminum-alumina composites

are used in various industries including fabrication, aerospace, automobile sectors etc. The

properties like corrosion resistance, low density, and high modulus of elasticity, higher

thermal and electrical conductivity make them a best choice for its applications in various

industries. The present work focus on mechanical properties of the metal matrix composite

including, tensile behavior, hardness and surface characteristics of Al 6063/Al2o3 (Alumina)

reinforced metal matrix composites by varying the percentage of the reinforced element

alumina in the base matrix allot Al 6063.The samples prepared by stir casting process by

varying the percentage of alumina in the base matrix alloy Al 6063 were tested for finding

the ultimate tensile strength followed by hardness and surface characteristics. The thickness

of the sample were taken 6mm .The mechanical behavior was analyzed by varying the

percentage of the alumina for finding the above mentioned mechanical properties for safe

design and usage of the metal matrix composite.

Abstract. The Aluminum based Metal Matrix Composites possess broad range of applications in

field of defense , automobile, aerospace etc due to its enhanced mechanical and physical properties

and unaffected chemical properties. This review paper characterizes the SIC particulates reinforced

along with other macroscopic reinforcing material as reinforcing phase and Aluminum as

reinforcing medium/ matrix phase in Metal matrix. Various reinforcing techniques can be used but

most preferred method for synthesis of MMC is stir casting due to its simplicity, cost effectiveness

and even distribution of reinforcing phase in medium. When aluminum alloy reinforced with Sic,

then it shows enhanced mechanical properties but these properties shows even more improvement

when reinforced via hybrid reinforcing phase having SiC as one of its component. The effect of

reinforcing material, weight or volume fraction on density, hardness, impact toughness etc are taken

into consideration. Effect of size of phase and medium is also discussed in this review article.

Abstract. The design of energy-efficient heat transfer equipment, as well as the research for

enhancing the thermal capability of conventional fluids, contributes to the effort for better

energy management. An apparatus is designed and fabricated with heat transfer fluid by the

ultrafine particle of fly ash to measure the Effective thermal conductivity of liquids under

various temperature ranges. Natural convection heat transfer has been experimentally

investigated to find out the heat loss to the atmosphere. The apparatus is completely different

form of thermal conductivity apparatus which has been widely applied in normal laboratory

The objective of the present work is to prepare HT fluid of FLY ASH and nano/micro

particles with distilled water as base fluid, measurement of thermo-physical properties

(thermal conductivity, viscosity and density), FLY ASH/distilled water HT fluid, working

principles of various instruments like KD2 Pro,For the preparation of FLY ASH/distilled

water with a surfactant, Gum Arabic is used as a surfactant. This surfactant was added in

distilled water first and then FLY ASH nano/microparticles were added in it and sonicated for

2.5 hours continuously. But still, the nano/microparticles were not dispersed properly. It

remains stable for 1-2 hours only and then nano/microparticles start to settle down

Results show that the thermal conductivity of alumina/distilled water HT fluid increases up

to 2.40% for 0.1 volume% and 0.328% for 0.5 volume% of alumina/distilled water as

compared to distilled water.

ABSTRACT- Incrementing interest in diesel engine technology and the perpetual ordinate

dictation of finding alternative sustainable fuels as well as reducing emissions has

incentivized over the years for the development of numerical models, to provide qualitatively

predictive implements for the designers. Among the alternative fuels, biodiesel especially

second generation biodiesel is considered as a sustainable and the most promising option for

the diesel engine. Biodiesel is a bio-fuel which has kindred properties to diesel and can yarely

be utilized in a diesel engine with minimal modifications. Promising results have been

determined utilizing amalgamations of biodiesel and diesel with the reduction of soot and

emissions of a diesel engine. Experimental analysis of diesel engines can be sumptuous and

ergo Computation Fluid Dynamics programs are habituated to analyze the combustion

process. Present Study deals with the effect of Titanium oxide nano particle integration to

diesel-biodiesel-ethanol blends by utilizing Computational Dynamics Method. In the current

study, we investigate that as we incremented the percentages of Bio-fuels and Ethanol the

efficiency of the coalesced fuel is incrementing and pollutant like Cox and NOx are

decrementing which shows solubility test as in an anterior work was stable. In a CI engine,

the NOx emission is one of the major pollutants and is predominantly influenced by the

amount of oxygen available and the in-cylinder temperature. The NOx emission is composed

of NO, NO2, N2O, N2O5, NO3. Nitric oxide is the major constituent and NO2 is a minor

constituent, while the others are negligible. At elevated temperatures (i.e.) above 1500 C, N2

can react with O2 more expeditious and may result in more NOx emission. As CI engines

have a higher compression ratio and are lean burn engines, the peak temperature is well

above 1500 C; hence, there is a higher NOx formation. In present work the evaluation of the

NOx (Prompt and Thermal) is withal carried out we investigate from CFD Results that NOx

percentages are decrementing with the integration of Tio2 (225 ppm) and higher no. of BDE

because as the temperature is getting higher the N-O bond will we collapsed due to this

Nitrogen is relinquished to the environment, hence NOx percentage is decrementing from

lower no. of BDE to the higher no. of BDE

Abstract. The concept of solid waste reuse have been used in developing an efficient and

cost effective small scale single chamber Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) for simultaneous

degradation of textile industry dye wastewater containing harmful azo dye compounds and

electricity generation. The carbon anode was extracted from the used dry cell and galvanized

steel nails were used as cathode. After 72 hours of operation the system showed the

maximum current density (27.5 mA/m2), the power density (2049.79 mW/m2), the internal

resistance (15 k Ω), COD removal efficiency (46.6%), TDS removal efficiency (45.6%) and

the percentage decolourization efficiency (45.8%). The breakage of the azo bond followed by

formation of aromatic compound was observed though the UV spectrophotometer analysis.

The power output of the system could be increased by electrically stacking the single unit of

the MFC device in parallel and series. The power density increased by 11.33 and 10.97 times

when the two individual MFC units were stacked in series and parallel.

Abstract. Growing demand, limited resources and the negative environmental impacts of

overexploitation of non-renewable energy has emphasized the need to utilize our finite energy

resources carefully for a sustainable future. Our common goal is to achieve this task in the most

efficient, cost effective, and least polluting manner. The present work involves the development

of a waste heat recovery system (micro cogeneration system) for 4.4 kW stationary compression

ignition engine. In this work, a waste heat operated cooker was developed to utilize the waste

heat of engine exhaust. After developing the cooker, experimental investigation was carried out

for effectiveness of the cooker, effect on exhaust emissions and performance of engine when the

cooker was incorporated with engine. It has been found that the effectiveness of waste heat

operated cooker is 0.3642 at a load of 3.0 kW (Around 70% of full load). By using the waste heat

operated cooker 14.87% of available waste heat is recovered. No significant difference was found

in the engine performance parameters and exhaust emissions when engine is running with and

without waste heat operated cooker.

Abstract. The present uses of natural fibers as a partial replacement for the synthetic fibers

and there by utilizing eco-friendly materials in various automotive applications namely

bumpers, wind shields, doors, ceilings etc. Although there are many research findings related

to natural fiber composites. These fibres are also having high strength to weight ratio as well

as high stiffness to weigh ratio, etc. With increasing environmental concerns natural fibers

are once again being considered as reinforcements for polymer composites. Due to the

environmental awareness and economical considerations, natural fiber reinforced polymer

composites seems to present a viable alternative to synthetic fiber reinforced polymer

composites such as glass fibers. In this present work cocciniagrandis fiber composites with

polyester resin are fabricated by using compression molding process. The mechanical

properties like tensile, hardness, density, surface roughness and wear test are carried out as

per ASTM standards for the developed composites. The test result shows that cocciniagrandis

composite alkaline treated fiber plate in tensile test in higher value and had shore D hardness

of 87.5 which are superior to all the other developed composites. The average density of this

polymer composite of 1.0172 g/cc.

Abstract. In this work, a detailed analysis was performed to profoundly study the

tribological property of various nano clay (Cloisite 25A) loaded epoxy, with and without

inclusion of E-glass fiber using Taguchi’s technique. For this purpose, the test samples were

prepared according to the ASTM standard, and the test was carried out with the assistance of

pin-on-disk machine. To proceed further, L25 orthogonal array was constructed to evaluate

the tribological property with four control variables such as filler content, normal load,

sliding velocity and sliding distance at each level. The results indicated that the combination

of factors greatly influenced the process to achieve the minimum wear and coefficient of

friction. Overall, the experiment results depicted least wear and friction coefficient for fiber

reinforced laminates. In the same way, appreciable wear and friction coefficient was noted

for without fiber laminates. Additionally, the SN ratio results too exhibited the similar trend.

Moreover, ANOVA analysis revealed that the fiber inclusion on laminates has lesser

contribution on coefficient of friction and wear when compared to without fiber laminates. At

last, the microstructure behavior of the test samples was investigated with an assistance of

Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to analyze the surface morphology.

Abstract. Friction stir welding is a solid state welding process that uses a non-consumable

tool to weld two dissimilar materials having different melting point without melting the

materials. Heat is generated by friction between the rotation of tool and the work piece

material. In this paper two different material like AA6061 and AZ31 of dimensions 100 mm

x 50 mm x 6 mm each are butt joined using Friction Stir Welding Machine. In this paper

process parameters like Welding Speed (1500 rpm, 2000 rpm, 2500rpm), Travel Speed (20

mm/min, 25 mm/min, 30 mm/min) and Tilt angle of (-3°, 0°, 3°) are considered. The material

selected for tool is made up of high carbon steel having shoulder diameter of 18 mm and

tapper pin diameter of 6 mm. This thesis mainly concentrated on the study and measurement

of hardness on the weld bead and to optimize the process parameters. After conduction of

experiment using Design of Experiment (DOE), the optimized parameters obtained were

Welding Speed of 2000 rpm, Travel Speed of 30 mm/min and Tilt Angle of -3°.

Abstract: In this paper, single vacation (e-d) policy for a multi-server Markovian queueing

model with batch arrivals is studied. According to (e-d) policy s>1 servers offer services to

randomly arriving customers in such a way that, if at a service completion instant, d(<s)

servers become idle on finding no customers waiting in the queue, then e( d) idle servers

will go on a single vacation of random length. After returning from a vacation, the server

joins the system for further rendering service whether customers are waiting or not. This

process is continued until the vacation condition is satisfied again. We analyzed this multi-

server single vacation queueing system as a quasi-birth and death process. Using matrix-

geometric method (MGM), we obtain the stationary queue size distribution. Neuro-fuzzy

technique for approximating the performance measures has also been discussed. The

sensitivity analysis is also facilitated to validate the analytical results. Furthermore, a

comparison has been done graphically for average queue length using MGM and neuro fuzzy

approach.

Abstract. This paper is based on the use of Augmented and Virtual Reality in the field of

Architecture and how to use the resources available in present day to improve the vision of

building great architectures and use this technology in other fields of science in order to more

precisely understand the basic concepts behind everything. Augmented Reality can be of

immense benefit to the architecture industry. The oft-cited benefits of AR in construction

industry include real time visualization of projects, project monitoring by overlaying virtual

models on actual built structures and onsite information retrieval. But this technology is

restricted by the high cost and limited portability of the devices. Further, problems with real

time and accurate tracking in a construction environment hinder its broader application. To

enable utilization of augmented reality on a construction site, a low cost augmented reality

framework based on the Google Cardboard visor is proposed. The current applications

available for Google cardboard has several limitations in delivering an AR experience

relevant to construction requirements. To overcome these limitations Unity game engine,

with the help of Vuforia & Cardboard SDK, is used to develop an application environment

which can be used for location and orientation specific visualization and planning of work at

construction workface. The real world image is captured through the smart-phone camera

input and blended with the stereo input of the 3D models to enable a full immersion

experience. The application is currently limited to marker based tracking where the 3D

models are triggered onto the user’s view upon scanning an image which is registered with a

corresponding 3D model preloaded into the application. A gaze input user interface is

proposed which enables the user to interact with the augmented models. Finally usage of AR

app while traversing the construction site is illustrated.
