1. Process
• Minor changes to the draft Plan would mean submission in Nov/Dec = exc College
• Major amendments will require x6 week consultation on a new draft Plan = inc College
• Potential for a short public consultation on options before x6 week consultation if needed
2. Further updates
• College: Initial transport and landscape studies end Oct
• School: Engaging with SoS, EFA. Confirmation of need for 85 units for funds.
• Treetops: Revised proposals• Highlands: Written expressing concern over
College deliverability• Fair Mile: Removed from flood plain• Lucy’s Farm: preparing to submit application
3. Consultation key issues (i)
• 54% overall support – marginal• 50:50 on Highlands • Public comments about:
– Traffic – Spatial distribution, – Highlands over-development, – Fair Mile inclusion,– Empsted employment loss,– Mixed views on School.
• SODC: – Parkside removal– 450 homes to be allocated (school reserve)– retail required

• Need reserve for Gillott’s• College plans too conceptual – cannot be fully
allocated so:– Can be earmarked for future development beyond
the known 450– Can be allocated with reserve site, although
problematic due to lack of information– Await further information
