PSSA CRICKET SHIRTS ‐ All Junior PSSA cricket shirts should be washed and returned to Mr Howard this week. All Senior cricket shirts should be washed and returned to Mr Howard early next week. CRICKET TRIALS FOR 2018 TEAMS ‐ Tomorrow, a detailed note will be sent home to all boys currently in Years 2‐5 who are interested in trying out for our PSSA Cricket Teams for 2018. Junior (Years 3 & 4 in 2018) trials will be held during lunch me, from 1:00‐1:40pm, on Friday 8 December and Wednesday 13 December. Senior (Years 5 & 6 in 2018) and State Knockout (Years 4‐6 in 2018) trials will be held on Tuesday 5 December and Tuesday 12 December from 8:00‐9:00am, as well as Friday 8 December during school sport me (9:15‐10:55am). Thanks, Michael Howard. PSSA LEAGUE TAG ‐ Last Friday was the Semi‐Finals of PSSA League Tag for 2017. Our Junior 1s played against Asquith 1s and produced a game full of Drama! We did some great things and some not so great things on the field during a seesawing game. With the clock cking down, we were clinging to a 5‐4 lead and it looked like a victory was coming. However, a lapse in defence proved costly and one of Asquith's speedy players was able to step his way to the try line to make it 5‐5 at the end of the game. This forced the game in to Golden Try extra

me, and a er a quick pep talk the Juniors were back on the field. Luckily, we were given the first chance with the ball and were able to make our way up the field and get across the line to take the score to 6‐5. We were then able to defend our line and hold out Asquith who had a right of reply with the ball. A very lucky escape indeed! Congratula ons Junior 1s. On to the Grand Final this Friday, where we will face Berowra 1s, good luck boys and girls. Our other teams played friendly matches last week and will do so again this week. There will be no training this week due to it being the final week of League Tag. I will run a training session for the Junior 1s during school me on Thursday. Thank you, Brad Keyes. PSSA LEAGUE TAG FINALS GALA DAY ‐ Last Wednesday our Senior Girls and Junior Boys competed in the NRL Bears League Tag Finals Day. The compe on consisted of public, catholic and private schools from the North Sydney Area who had either won or finished runners up at the Regional Gala Days they competed in. The Senior girls started off their day in a very compe ve way and displayed the great teamwork that had got them to the Finals by winning their first two games. Unfortunately the wheels started to fall off a er that, costly errors saw our poten al slip away and the girls lost their remaining three games to finish the Finals 4th overall. S ll a fantas c effort and you should be proud to have made it this far, girls. The Junior boys were undefeated in the Regional Gala Day and they brought their red hot form along to the Finals Day. A er a scratchy draw in their first match, the boys hit their straps and put on some fantas c performances against some quality opposi on to finish on top of the table with a draw and four wins in the Pool Matches. In the Grand Final the boys came up against a strong and speedy St Thomas Primary. This did not deter the boys one bit and they got away to a handy 3‐0 lead early in the game. St Thomas fought back with a couple of tries, but the boys managed to get another and hold them out for a 4‐2 victory. Mitchell S. (4Green) was named player of the finals. Great

KINDERGARTEN NEWS ‐ Week 9 News Topic: My favourite thing this year in Kindergarten was when …….. Thank you, Sharon Gates. HEAD LICE ‐ The school has been no fied of a case of head lice. The only way to control the infesta ons is for every parent to be vigilant and regularly check their child’s hair. It is easy to blame other children and I know it can be frustra ng when re‐infesta ons occur, but it is s ll up to every parent to take responsibility. The head lice must be treated before the child can return to school. PSSA CRICKET ‐ Both of our teams competed in the PSSA cricket Semi‐finals last Friday (Juniors) and Monday (Seniors). Our Junior team ba ed first in their match against Berowra P.S. and compiled a decent score of 48 runs from 12 overs. The best batsmen were: Maanav S. (8 runs from 6 deliveries), Lucas H. (8 runs from 7 deliveries) and Josh R. (8 runs from 7 deliveries). Excellent bowling from Aryan K. (0/1), Jayden H. (0/4) and Ian A. (0/4) kept the match in the balance as the opposi on reached 23 runs from the first 5 overs. However, terrific ba ng by our opponents resulted in an 85‐48 victory to Berowra. Congratula ons boys on such a fantas c season! You should be very proud of your efforts this year and the way that you have improved your individual skills and developed so well as a team. Congratula ons to Lucas H. and Cameron S. for leading the team so well all season. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Hunter, Mr and Mrs Menzies‐Jackson, Mrs Hughes (Searle), Mrs Amarasinghe, Mr and Mrs Apostoloff, Mr Sahni and Mrs Thurbon for driving the boys to and from their matches all year. Our Senior team also ba ed first and scored a formidable 84 runs from 12 overs. The best batsmen were: Zen S. (15 runs from 6 deliveries), Arjun N. (12 runs from 6 deliveries), Jim H. (11 runs from 8 deliveries), Ma R. (9 runs from 7 deliveries) and Kaleb M. (6 runs from 6 deliveries). Turramurra’s run chase was looking good as they reached 51 runs from their first 8 overs. However, an excellent over from Arjun N. (0/1) swung the balance back in our favour, and it came down to the opposi on needing 20 runs from the final over for victory. Some big hi ng got them close, but we ended up winning by just 5 runs. Lachlan M. (1/4), Zen S. (0/4) and Ma R. (0/6) were our other best bowlers. For the fi h consecu ve year, our Senior team have made the Grand Final. If you would like to watch a good game of cricket, even if your child is not in the team, come up to Montview Oval on Friday morning to cheer our boys on. We will be playing against Waitara P.S. from 9:30am. The mee ng me outside the library is 8:45am and the drivers are: Stevens, Hills, Mizukoshi and Roberts. Thanks, Michael Howard.

PSSA SOFTBALL/TBALL ‐ The Girl’s So ball team put in a huge effort against Warrawee P.S. in the Semi‐finals. It was extremely hot and they all gave their best. Unfortunately, they went down 10‐2 but they should be very proud of their efforts. Player of the Match went to Ella B. for her excellent sneaking. Congratula ons to our So ball girls for an outstanding year. You should be so proud of yourselves. Thank you, Ashlee Behn.
