Welcome back to Term 4 already … where has the year gone? I trust you all had an enjoyable holiday and have recharged those

batteries ready for a big finish! Towards the end of Term 3 I finalized our main staffing for 2016. It is with great please that I announce the following appointments: Miss Ashlea Baker successfully gained another 12 month contract. Mrs Tracey Opie who gained an ongoing part time position, after many years of contracts and having to re-apply for her position.

Congratulations to Ashlea and Tracey on their appointments! Kialla Central Primary School has an outstanding staff who all have the

interests of every student as our priority. Grade structures and specialists areas are still be decided and will be announced shortly. Once again if you know of a possible enrolment or if you are planning on leaving our school, please let me know as this has an impact on this planning process. On the last Friday of Term 3, we held our traditional Footy and Hot Dog Day. Our Students wore their footy colours, participated in a variety of footy activities, found out the results of our Kialla Central Primary School Footy Tipping competition results and enjoyed a hot dog for lunch. I would like to thank Frasier Opie who helped with the footy activities. A big thank you to our parents who helped with the Hot Dogs. This included: Annette Hunt, Lisa Irwin, Karen Boschetti, Tracy Blake & Byron.

I would also like to thank the tireless efforts of Heather Adderly who organizers our Footy Tipping Competition and adds her own little twists to keep everyone entertained. There is a full report of the Footy Tipping Results in this newsletter.

Our Camps program is in full swing with our Grades 5 & 6 students heading off to Queenscliff on Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th October. There is lots of excitement and a few anxious moments at this time of year as many of our students are going on camp for the first time. For some it is the first time that they are going away without their family. Families and students can be reassured that our staff and their fellow campers will take good care of them and they will have an amazing adventure! Mr Z, Mrs O & Miss H are going with our happy campers along with Mr V, Mrs Doonan and 2 parents from Kialla West. Students not going on camp are expected to attend to school as usual. They will be in Miss Baker’s or Mrs Gamble’s room for the rest of the week.

Please note: we are now leaving from Kialla West on Tuesday 6th October at 8.30am. Students need to be there by 8.15am and see Mr Z, Mrs O or Miss H so we know everyone has arrived. Our Foundation Transition program also takes place this term. Next week a letter will be sent home to all of our families with a child starting school in 2016. Kinders will also be a copy of dates and times of our program. This term we have changed to selling Berri Fruit Quelches as a cheaper option. The cost will be 50 cents each. Thank you to Junior School Council for their research and input into this change. Icy pole sales are daily and will start on Monday 12th October.

    Talking Footy with Bomber 10

Here is a wrap of the 2015 tipping season.

    JACKPOTS

In Round 3 we had our first jackpot for the season with 5 tippers tipping all 9 correctly. They were Chocolate Hawk,

Frazzle Dazzle, GAMS, Little Bomber and Sheedy’s Heroes. In Round 15 Frazzle Dazzle, Howards Heroes and

Oscar collected the money. In Round 16 the X-Man and yours truly Bomber 10 collected the, while in Round 17 Left

Back was the jackpot winner all on his own. In Round 20 we again saw Frazzle Dazzle win the jackpot and finally

in Round 22 De’ was the last one to collect the jackpot. It was good to see so many tippers collecting a jackpot and it

was an amazing feat the Frazzle Dazzle was able to collect the jackpot 3 times during the season. Congratulations to

these tippers as it is not easy to tip all 9 games correctly!

    OTHER AWARDS

    Final 8 Competition

The winner of the Final 8 competition was Gemma Moulsdale. It would be good if we could see a few more people in

this competition next season. It does not cost you anything to enter and there is a prize at the end of the season

    donated by Bomber 10.

    WOODEN SPOON

The winner of the prestigious wooden spoon was Kasey Boschetti tipping 93 for the season.
