During the month of September, Deputy Rose was involved in the case of a missing person who suffered from dementia. The professional and caring manner with which Deputy Rose handled that situation so impressed the missing man's family that they wrote a letter to the local newspaper expressing their gratitude. The family said, "With all of the bad press police get lately, Deputy Rose left us with renewed faith, and we thank him and all who helped." Another example of Deputy Rose's caring personality was when he was the backup officer for another deputy on a traffic stop. The driver was ultimately cited and, as a result, unable to continue driving the vehicle. When the driver couldn't make contact with anyone to come pick him up, Deputy Rose volunteered without hesitation to drive the person home so they would not have to walk home late at night. The driver was very thankful and notified the on-duty supervisor of how professional Deputy Rose was. He coordinated with Zuercher Technologies, to make changes and to fix bugs in the tablet software. He worked closely with the county and contract personnel during implementation of the wire- less network in the detention facility, which provided the means for the tablets to com- municate wirelessly with the network soft- ware. He quickly familiarized himself with a product not previously found in the CCSO repertoire…Apple iPads. He researched Apple software and found a product which enabled control and ongoing maintenance of the tablets once they were deployed. Jason was born in New Jersey and moved to Cape Coral when he was 10 years old. He currently resides in Punta Gorda with Janelle, his lovely wife of 2 ½ years. Addi- tionally, they are the proud parents of 4 month old twin boys.
