Only students that have not mastered all assessed skills will have homework until

the skills have been mastered. You will receive a list of work for your child to

complete each week. If your child has mastered all skills to this point, I will only

send your childs homework folder home if your child has make up work to complete

after an absence.

Homework Policy

At the beginning of each week, your child will bring home a homework folder. Inside you will find

homework per week. Your child will have sight words to practice each week. He/she may also have a

math worksheet or additional assignment. Homework in Kindergarten is not optional. It is very

important that the skills taught and practiced in class are reinforced at home.

Please sign or initial the assignment page in the folder. All homework is due on the last day of

the week. Please return your childs work in the homework folder.

Book Buddies

I have five Book Buddies. Your child will have the opportunity to bring each of the bags home at

some point in the year. The book has a Book Buddy along with 7 books to read at home. Some books

your child will be able to read and others are books that need to be read to your child. There is also

a page in the Book Buddys folder for you and your child to write about your week with your Book

Buddy. The Book Buddy bag needs to be returned on the last day of the week. Please make sure

that Book Buddy has all his books with him so another child can enjoy reading them also. If you do

not want your child to participate, please let me know.
