LOYALTY KINDNESS
To be a follower of Jesus we must be loyal and ready to give up everything. Jesus reminds us that in serving others we are serving Him. Unity in Christ should be our way of life.
A Prayer Before Any Activity
Inspire our actions, O Lord, by your grace and continue them by Your aid
so that every prayer and work of ours may begin with You and by You be happily ended.
Amen. Catholic Prayer Book Do you have a Catechism at home? Every home should have a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church so parents and children can talk about the faith from a reliable source. Saint John Paul II told us back in October 1995 while visiting St. Patrick’s Cathedral “There are two immediate things Catholic families can do to strengthen home life. The first; pray (the Rosary). The second is to use the Catechism of the Catholic Church to learn about the faith and to answer questions that come up, especially the moral questions which confront everyone daily.

WEEKDAY MASS SCHEDULE CHANGE
There will be only one weekday Mass celebrated Monday thru Friday at 8:30am.
PRAYER FOR TRAVELERS AND VACATIONERS
God of all travelers,
Send us an angel
To keep us safe wherever we go,
And grant us summertime refreshment.
May we be gracious to guests,
And hospitable to strangers.
Bless us on our journeys,
Bless the people we meet,
And bless our returning home,
Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
A Weekend of Blessings!
Congratulations to Nick and Pat Pesacreta who renewed vows celebrating 25 years of Holy Matrimony last Saturday at the 5:00 PM Mass. A hearty congratulations to AJ Liberati who received his Light of Christ Scouting Award at the 9:30 AM Mass last Sunday. And a loud and loving “Brava” for Chris Matthews who marked 50 years of music ministry at Holy Rosary with a special recognition at the 11:30 AM Mass last Sunday. Finally, a word of gratitude to our beloved parish secretary, Coletta Rutigliano, who retired on Friday following twenty four years of faithful service in the office at Holy Rosary. To one and all, blessings and gratitude for who you are and what you offer to our parish.
Fr. Fraser Sends Thanks!
Fr. Fraser wishes to thank the women of the Parish Activities Committee and all who helped to make the receptions after each Mass so special. Father appreciated having the opportunity to greet so many people on such a beautiful day. He appreciates the prayers and good wishes and promises his prayers in return. Father’s new address is: Fr. John Fraser, St. Malachy’s Church, 239 West 49th Street, New York, NY 10019.
Help is on the Way! We welcome back Fr. Patrick, by way of Rome, but originally from Africa. Many of you remember Fr. Patrick from his visit last year (he plays a prey decent game of basketball, too). Father will be with us through the end of August. Along with Fr. Collins and Fr. Peter, Fr. Patrick will help keep things running smoothly in the sacramental realms of the church during July and August. We expect some word from the Archdiocese very soon concerning our new pastor.

THIRTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
As in last Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus’ words today continue His instructions to the Twelve as He sends them out as missionaries, proclaiming the Kingdom of Heaven to “the lost sheep of the house of Israel” (Matthew 10:6). This series of statements was probably gathered from different moments during Jesus’ ministry into this one speech. We can think of them as “one-liners” and consider each one separately. Jesus is to be the first love of the missionary. The missionary has to be willing to take up the cross as Jesus did, to give his life for Christ’s sake. On the other hand, those who receive these missionaries receive Christ, and they will be rewarded. We see this happening in the first reading when the hospitality of the childless woman of Shunem is eventually rewarded by the prophet, who tells her that she will have a son within a year. The reading from Roman shows us the generosity of God when we give ourselves over to dying with Christ in living out our Baptism: If we die with Him, we shall live with Him.
How are you “living for God in Christ Jesus” participating in the work of a missionary who proclaims Jesus Christ by your life?
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS ARE NEEDED Practicing Catholics who attend Mass at least weekly and on holy days and who have received the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) are urged to volunteer.
