Did you know that this year, Holy Family School is going through the accreditation process? School staff is in the middle of conducting an in-depth “self-study,” the goal of which is to identify our school’s great qualities and accomplishments. We will also search for areas where improvement may be needed. The Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA) prescribes a strict protocol for identifying our strengths and weaknesses. This year we will be going through the protocol and writing a report of what we find out about ourselves as a school. Next year, a “visiting committee” of teachers and administrators will visit our school and check to see if the things we say about ourselves in the report are indeed true. If so, we will receive accreditation for another six years. The self-study will be available for review and feedback by the community upon completion. and WEDNESDAY WORD HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC SCHOOL HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC SCHOOL HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC SCHOOL HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC SCHOOL 7425 SE César E. FOR HOLY FAMILY This weekend, Fr. Rodel introduced a task force working on a parish-wide master plan. The process involves an assessment of our buildings and property and steps to gather the opinions and ideas of parishioners and school families on the church and school they see five, ten, and 20 years in the future. Please go to: http://parish.holyfamilyportland.org/master-plan for more details and ways to stay informed on the master plan.

Hurricane Harvey Relief Michael Allen Harrison’s Play It Forward Foundation

Musical Instrument Donations Needed Dear HFS community members, In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Portland pianist Michael Allen Harrison's Play It Forward Program is helping to rebuild the music program at Kingwood High School in Houston.

The building housing the school’s music program was flooded with over six feet of water, destroying many instruments and the school’s music library. Kingwood High primarily needs Cellos.

However, Play It Forward provides instruments for students and schools in need all around the Portland area.

If you or someone you know has a serviceable musical instrument that could be donated, please contact Jim Juliano (971) 678 4773 or [email protected]
