Concept, design, planning the layout MMM develops a customized design based on your spatial and

The increasing complexity of specialist buildings in the health-care system requires technical facilities manage-

The instrument cycle starts with acceptance of the used, contaminated medical products in the unclean area, where the returned items are distributed to the various trays. This is followed by cleaning and disinfection - the basic requirements for successful sterilization.

Manual cleaning

Ultrasonic cleaning

For the thorough precleaning of more complex instruments MMM offers a

modular concept of cleaning tables and accessories. This becomes a seamless

component of the workflow of your RUMED and is noted for its modularity

and flexibility and well-designed ergonomics. The wet area can be set for

precisely your requirements with precleaning basins, ultrasonic basics and

Ultramatic®

Even dried soiling and encrustations are safely and thoroughly removed

with ultrasonic cleaning. Partly, ultrasonic treatment even allows to replace

manual pre-cleaning completely by machine pre-cleaning. Thus valuable

resources are saved and a reproducible, consistently reliable cleaning result

of high quality is achieved.

The use of ultrasonics significantly reduces the exposure time and sensitive

microsurgery instruments as well as da Vinci Robotic instruments (UniSonic® only) can be cleaned in a particularly gentle manner.

Loading racks, loading trolleys and transport trolleys

MMM has designed the right rack for all types of goods. The slide-in baskets

can be neatly equipped with a variety of module attachments for various

utensils - modular, versatile and practical. Along with the height-adjustable

transport trolleys that are compatible with all racks this results in a complete

concept for seamless and safe transport of the sterile material within the

RUMED.

The automatic loading and unloading system positions and scans the next

batch on the loading trolley independently of the programme times of

the device. As soon as the device is ready for the next cycle, the batch is

automatically loaded into the chamber and the correct programme is started

based on the barcode reading.

Cleaning and disinfection devices

MMM washer-disinfectors are available with a capacity of 10 to 30 DIN trays or as container washers. The Uniclean®

PL II series convinces with a range of different machine widths and capacities, which allow to adapt the machines

to any room situation. Individual needs are taken into account: Uniclean® PL II 10 requires a width of only 700 mm

whereas Uniclean® PL II 30, with a width of 1000 mm, is equipped with a 2 in1 tandem chamber for double capacity.

The Unclean® ML container washer offers versatile loading possibilities, particularly for bulky goods.

The single-chamber units of the Uniclean® PL II washer-disinfector series have been developed for the most

thorough processing of medical devices such as general surgery and MIS instruments, anesthesia materials, ophthalmic

instruments, containers, bowls, basins, OR shoes and others utensils as well as da Vinci robotic instruments.

The large chamber washer-disinfector Unclean® ML is used both for the processing of instruments and the cleaning

and disinfecting of bulky items such as transport trolleys, instrument containers, OR shoes, plastic containers,

receptacles and kidney bowls.

Steam sterilizers

MMM steam sterilizers come with various sizes of chambers from 2 STU to 21 STU and in models with one or two

doors opening to the left or right from a width of 600 mm. All programmes required for standard hospital work

are factory-set. Device options for economical and environmentally-compatible operation such as the MMM steam

manager and recovery system, water-saving vacuum pump or the MMM energy manager can significantly reduce

operating and media expenses.

The MMM SteamSpy, an electronic Bowie-Dick test permanently integrated into the steam sterilizers that outputs

the test result on the batch documentation and also acts as a continuous batch control, gives you the advantages

of increased safety, greater transparency, no requirements for chemical indicators and increased productivity by

saving time. The SteamSpy is a patented product developed by MMM that is certified and accredited as an

alternative Bowie-Dick test.

Medical products are protected from recontamination after preparation by

packing them in transparent pouches designed to maintain sterility until

they are used on a patient. The MMM SteriPack heat-sealing device ensures

that the prepared goods remain sterile with the reliable seal provided by the

sterile barrier system.

MMM low-temperature sterilizers guarantee safe sterilization of goods that

are sensitive to heat - even instruments with narrow lumina. They include

technical solutions that make the LTSF process (low-temperature steam

and formaldehyde) more economical and efficient. Our LTSF sterilizers meet

all process- and substance-specific criteria (VSK) when used properly, and

guarantee adherence to the formaldehyde limit values. As the devices meet

the highest safety standards, they can be integrated into a RUMED without

any problem.

Furniture

The RUMED is a complex workplace that places high demands on employees.

MMM supplies a complete range of furniture including work tables, washing

stations and packing tables, cabinet systems and a range of shelving systems.

Our furniture is suitable for the most severe conditions and meet all

requirements for ergonomics, hygiene and modularity.

The medical devices are removed from the cleaning and disinfecting device on the clean side, assembled into OR sets and packed for sterilization. After sterilization and picking the medical devices are delivered and are ready for use with patients.

Our universal loading trolleys ensure optimum usage of the capacity of the

sterilization chamber with outstanding loading and drying properties.

The loading trolleys are transported to the device on the transport trolley

(optionally height-adjustable).

Meeting the requirements imposed by directive, laws and standards in the everyday work of the RUMED and simultaneously maintaining the internal requirements for process quality and efficiency demands good organization – sterile goods management software meets the legal requirements for documentation and increases process safety and efficiency.

Sterile goods documentation software

Seamless logistics is essential for fault-free preparation of sterile goods. The process must be followed and infrastructure is also required to ensure protection of the sterile goods at all times. MMM has also developed automated solutions for optimum workflow of sterile goods in the RUMED for secure transport of sterile goods.

Closed transport trolleys

Logistics in the preparation process becomes that much more important

if the supply of sterile goods to the hospital is outsourced to an external

service provider. The Euro-Clean-Car system (ECC) provides security for

contaminated instruments during transport and protects the sterile

instruments after preparation.

The ECC can be docked directly to the unloading ramp of the sterilizer.

The goods are sealed to prevent unauthorised access. The ECC is fully

compatible with all MMM products.

Rack hatches, sliding windows, service hatches

MMM supplies rack hatches, sliding windows and service hatches to connect

unclean areas with clean areas. They allow racks and loading trolleys to be

moved easily from the clean to the unclean side and can be installed in a

wide range of combinations.

For seamless documentation, every item of sterile goods can be marked with

its own barcode, which is read by a barcode reader device as the rack enters

the chamber and documented in the batch log. The barcodes are shown on

the machine display and the machine automatically preselects a sterilization

program suitable for the detected goods. The process documentation can

optionally be linked to a sterile goods management system such as EcoSoft. Barcode scanner

EcoSoft supports and documents the entire process of preparation of medical devices and is used for admin-

istration of sterile goods as required. EcoSoft is a particularly simple and intuitive programme that will help

you structure, document and trace the work processes of the complete preparation cycle. It is simultaneously

a customized tool for meeting the documentation requirements of regulators without complications.

MMM is more than just a manufacturer, we provide a complete, end to end solutions. Our services cover

detailed planning and consultation, products and their software, installation, logistics and service, which

includes the validation of all processes in the RUMED and right through to the end-to-end project manage-

ment of extensive construction works.

Renovation of the RUMED requires in many cases not only replacement of devices but also adapting

processes and media to new standards or a change in circumstances. The maintenance of the supply of

sterile goods for normal hospital operation during renovation work is one of the greatest challenges. The main

question at the start of the project is: renovation during continuing operation or move operations to a mobile

processing unit for medical products (MPU)?

Our experience as a total solution provider has shown: renovation during continuing operation often

involves major restrictions for personnel and processes and increased costs due to constructions

requirements to maintain hygienic requirements.

The MMM Group has the solution: a mobile processing unit for medical products.

of up to 180 StU in two-shift operation) is supplied fully equipped

• Setup, assembly and commissioning in about 5 days

• Depending on the process validation the MPU will be available for use in the shortest possible time

The MMM base module consists of 4 modules with a robust steel frame and a total floor area (TFA) of 124 m². The external dimensions are approx. 12.5 m x 10 m x 3.1 m (LxWxH). The individual modules can be transported by truck.

MMM has also developed the ISA software (Intelligent Service Advisor), a

software program for MMM preparation machines that facilitates commu-

nication between humans and machinery. The operator - this can be the

RUMED management, in-house technicians or MMM customer service - can

monitor the status of the machine at any time by SMS or email. Problems

with the function of the machine can be corrected at short notice by quali-

fied remote diagnosis. It makes work processes more efficient and resolves

any problems much faster.
