DESCRIPTION

• Recognize challenges of diagnosing concussion and describe changes in the definition of concussions.

• Explain how to be proactive and prepared for the evaluation of a concussion on the sideline of a sporting event and describe how to effectively diagnose a concussion on the sideline of sporting event.

• Review diagnostic criteria for Post-concussion Syndrome (PCS) and review strategies for treating PCS.

• Discuss the neuropsychiatric sequela of traumatic brain injury and concussions and discuss diagnosis and management of the neuropsychiatric manifestations.

• Describe pain management associated with concussions.

This program will explore new concepts about the importance of recognizing concussion and proper management of a concussion that physicians need to know.
