The Problem:
Coating damage caused by graffiti and cleaning
The consequence:
Local trains and other vehicles are often defaced
with graffiti, making high costs unavoidable.
Replacement vehicles have to be made available,
and possibly also additional staff for special
cleaning. This is the start of a vicious circle.
• Aggressive chemicals which attack the original
paint are used every time graffiti is removed.
• The surface becomes porous and cracked
over time.
• The substrate is no longer fully protected.
• Dirt gets trapped in the paint damage. It can only be
removed with great difficulty and can no longer be
completely removed.
• The surface becomes unsightly over time.
• Removing new graffiti becomes increasingly harder
with less successful results.
Experience shows that after
removing graffiti several times,
the coating surface is permanently
damaged. This results in a spiralling
increase in work and costs due to
increasing frequent cleaning or even
unscheduled repainting. Tradition

The solution:
wefaPolyseal 2K colourlesswefa’s coating specialists have developed protection which is applied to the original coating like
transparent armour and reliably and verifiably preserves it: wefaPolyseal 2K colourless.
wefaPolyseal is a lasting anti-graffiti coating consisting of two components.
Its surface practically acts like robust security glass with a lotus effect:
• The highly cross-linked surface structure prevents the penetration of
spray paint, marker pens, permanent markers, coal tar paints etc.
• The easy-to-clean effect allows graffiti, daubing and dirt of all kinds to
cleaned off more easily and more quickly.
• Corrosion protection and other characteristics of the original paint
under the wefaPolyseal coating are preserved.
wefaPolyseal 2K colourless is suitable for metal and plastic surfaces and
can been applied to the original paint in any workshop by simply wiping it
on without the need for a paint gun.

The practical test:
Experts confi rm lastingprotectionThe paint on several regional trains as test vehicles has been
preserved with wefaPolyseal 2K colourless since 2011 in order
to test how this new anti-graffi ti protection performs in
practice. In each case, the vehicles could be put back into
operation just one day after being coated and been in
operation according to schedule ever since. During this
period some of the vehicles were cleaned with neutral
cleaning agents. The fi nal assessment of the surface
condition by an independent appraiser and experts from
Deutsche Bahn was carried out at the end of 2015.
• Neither cracks nor fl aking of this preserving agent could
be established in wefaPolyseal.
• All graffi ti could be easily removed with any residue.
• The colour and gloss of the original paints were refreshed
by the preservation and were almost unchanged fi ve years
later.
